I’m 56. I just heard this song for the first time in my life. I am completely smitten. I have listened to a lot of lata ji’s songs, but since I’m a Tamilian I didn’t have the opportunity to listen to ALL of her songs. So I end up discovering new ones every now and then. This song is so beautiful. How could anyone sing this better? Simply amazing. It’s a very special feeling to lie in bed in the middle of the night, unable to sleep and then you turn on this song. The soothing voice wafting like a gentle breeze just for you. I forget all the stress and tensions in life and just marvel at the perfectness of lataji’s voice. What a blessing. Incredibly lucky to have these songs of lataji to help me cross the nights.

All of them had a wonderful chemistry and between them no ill feeling or fights. Helping ech other was their quality. We can not limit with one or two. Khayyam Saab was no less than others. And only those songs we are still enjoying. In my opinion, Naushad Saab, Rafi Saab & Lata ji - all the three were created by God above human talent. Yes Very Very Sad! Her father was on a UN assignment and she mostly stayed abroad before coming to India in the early 1960's. She is known to have trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, UK Chetan Anand, cast her in his film Haqeeqat. He had just separated from his wife; Priya was many years younger and very beautiful and the two grew close to each other. She starred only in Chetan Anand films.
