Nema 2000 network or Seatalk ng network? I think it is Seatalk ng.

Great video. Can run both power cables to the same breaker using properly rated inline fuses?

Well - thats helped me understand the one on the boat I recently bought - much appreciated.

It's SEATALK not NMEA 2000. Although SEATALK uses the same PGNs as NMEA, raymarine just added a level complexity to an otherwise simple N2K system.

Does it matter which motor wire goes to A or B on the ACU? There are labels on my red and redish motor wires...

Nice vid, looking on picking one of these up for my macgregor 26m. Just need to figure out how to get it talking with my garmin 441s

Jason Wolfe Thanks for watching! Should be possible especially if the Garmin accepts NMEA 2000 sentences
@Payara2228 жыл бұрын
You would think that but as I have both, I can tell you the Ray AP does not interface without significant frustration. The P70 control will tell you it SEEs all interconnected Nmea 2000 devices but, even when using all the appropriate seatalkng to n2000 cabling, will not receive data in any form of regular processing. The result is the AP will lose connection and veer off. Same with wind data. Basically anything not RM. Do not buy this unit if you're using other brands - not worth the headaches!

+Payara222 Thank you for your first hand experience. The Raymarine technical forum is pretty good about responding to these types of issues, even when dealing with other manufactures products. Have you checked in with them? It should be possible but that doesn't mean it will actually work. Did a quick search and found this thread but it doesn't state if it was tested. raymarine.ning.com/m/discussion?id=6492755%3ATopic%3A172843 You should be able to send waypoint info to the autopilot then 'track' to that waypoint, but not control the autopilot from the Garmin.

How did you go with having it fitted to a Mac26M? I have just bought same boat and this gear came with the boat.... yet to be fitted.
@morbidfollower3 жыл бұрын
@@donnacurtis5528 This was some time ago but if i recall, i was able to make it work quite nicely. I have since sold the boat but i can try to remember as much as possible if you need help along the way.

You have made a mistake at 7:10 the ACU doesn't need a power connection from the battery.
@FollowEscape7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the concern but the information I provided is correct, the ACU does need a connection from the battery, that is where the wheel drive draws its power from, the ACU regulates the power. Check out the manual on page 19 section 3.6 System examples raymarine.app.box.com/s/j9uaqm020hb826l4t3cp/1/1787035935/119763483197/1

Oh yes fair comment the 100 does have two power supplies. BTW the reason the connectors are plastic is because its cheaper than metal and they are waterproof to IP6 which could be useful on a yacht.

They not strong enough for 25 ft above

i have bought two of these, and they both cracked into pieces internally. About to install third. Garbage, but no other affordable choice. Avoid like plague. My windvane is 40 years old and works like new. This autopilot struggles to last a week of offshore sailing.
@FollowEscape7 жыл бұрын
+Super Wag Totally agree the drive unit is garbage all plastic pieces it would make a good backup for sailing offshore but the hydraulic drive is much more solid if you're going offshore, expensive though.
