I love that your first thought was to make sure Goji had a dry spot to be warm. Heavy, wet snow is not a good place to try and camp if you do not have to. Smart choice to call it a day. Stay warm.

Cracking stuff Paddy, good call not staying out when everything is soaked, makes a uncomfortable and potentially danger to health situation mate, Goji getting crazier on a weekly basis.love it mate.

He was not serious staying over night in the first place. The mat is inadequate to rest on snow. And it would require something such as a bivvi bag in such kind of igloo. Another hint he didn't plan to stay is there is no attempt to make a door preventing the heat from escaping the shelter. With no other option for the mat, one expedient would have been to place a pile of branches under the mat. Still the sleeping bag would have ended being wet. But it was fun.

Wonderfully beautiful winter landscape. 🥰 ❄️⛄🌫️ Unfortunately, when we were building it, it was already clear that the snow was too wet and it wasn't cold enough. Nevertheless, it was a great idea. 🥰🤩❄️ I hope you can thaw out again at home in a warm bath. 🛁 I only found Goji with your help. 🤓 Maybe you should serve Goji food on a big stick, then he has to nibble it off and can't eat it so quickly.🤗🐶

You were dead right to call it a night and head home. Climbed a hill in the snow yesterday. Wanted to do a horseshoe loop, but with 2 feet of snow, decent but not ideal gear plus many hidden holes to fall down, had to just go back the same way.
