With all the different licks, riffs, single/double string/flat pickin' that he put in that banjo, through it all....His timing was dead on. Crazy.

One of the best performances that you'll ever hear. Unreal sound they had for just a 3 piece band. Where is IBMA on inducting this into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame of Owensboro KY??? Give them the recognition they deserve.

Man this really really makes me miss all those shows I attended as a kid. I can close my eyes and it's almost like I'm back at the Maggie Valley Opry house at one of their reunion shows

How amazing - watched a Lomax Appalachian Journey documentary which featured Raymond Fairchild early in the film. First I'd ever heard of him, then surfed on youtube to discover stuff like this. Wow! I've been flirting with the 5-string for 20 years and never heard of Raymond. What a great find!

I met Raymond St Thomas Point Beach and tho I am a guitar player, I sensed his genius immediately. He is indeed the king of banjo! He was playing with a Gospel singer who was also wonderfully. I owe Raymond big time for my own unique style of playing guitar. He was old when I met him but he must've been a hellion when he was younger... On banjo I mean. Thanks Raymond .

Watched him as a kid he played on the side of the road with a can and a sign donations please in Maggie NC, I watched hard core bluegrass fans run the first time he played Glory land Park in Bear De, they ran from the camp grounds to see who was playing that banjer, Raymond was the cleanest picking son of a gun ever, Rip Raymond there are those who knew the talent you possessed including but not limited to Bill Munro the father of Bluegrass bill came to Raymond and encouraged him to be a professional and said he had a God given talent and was very impressed by Raymons playing
