As a parent it's your responsibility to keep track of what kind of media your very young children are exposed to. HOWEVER. You also have to teach your children how to moderate themselves as they get older. If all you tell your child is that they're not allowed to do something, they will do it behind your back. You have to be the one to start the conversation about WHY rules are in place, and you have to be honest with them. My daughter is 11 now and I'm extremely proud of her morals and very rarely have to moderate her at all. I've been speaking honestly in words she can understand with her as long as she's been speaking. I answer every question honestly, and so I hope if anything bad were to ever happen, she wouldn't be afraid to be honest with me about it.

Absolutely this. The internet is such an important thing in society now, not allowing children (I don't mean litteral toddlers) on there is very detrimental, kinda like if you didn't let them outside the house for fear they'd walk past, idk a s*x shop or something, then dumping them on the street a few years later expecting them to have everything figured out. You have to teach your kids the ways they can be autonomous, IRL or on the internet. "Taking away" their form of joy, of freedom, that fucks up children to, not to mention peer pressure from the people actually allowed these "privileges" (urgh. I hate this word in this context). They're little humans. They lack life experience, but they're people nonetheless, you cannot expect them to be satisfied with just food and shelter, especially when they spend most of their waking time in a coercive place they're statistically most likely to hate. You owe them at least a fucking explanation for why things are the way they are, and just because they can't understand everything doesn't mean they can't understand anything.

As a Vietnamese , i have some explanation on why you see so many of these type of videos with our Language. While i can see some of these are truly made by Vietnamese people , most of them are Vietnamese account that gotten hacked and the hackers are trying to pretend to be Vietnamese . The Prime example is the Family guy clips compilation he talked about that was a normal channel that gotten hacked. Similar to the ones that contain the tag ' Hoa KÌ ' because we rarely use it to describe the USA instead we use the word 'Mỹ' . The primary reason is that the age of new technology comes to us Vietnamese too quickly and most of our people cannot catch up with internet security and a lot of user tends to use cracked or pirated wares to save cost. So hackers and fake apps tends to easily steal our accounts and infomations , i know way to many people that gotten scammed and hacked , even those that are early 20s are still easily tricked by link swap and telemarketing. Please do not take this as Vietnamese bad : Our people are just aren't educated enough.

*Making the internet so called "kid friendly" will be the doom of it* Because it will create a huge wave of copy pasting content and hamper the experience And also, WHY are you giving access to the internet to your child? And even worse, WHY are you using stuff like KZbin as a baby sitter for your child?? The Internet is a mixed bag of good and bad things But the problem is the bad comes out of it most of the times and it overshadows the good stuff in it
@biggestastiest Жыл бұрын
@@X3RNEA5 children are insanely malleable and receptive to advertisements. since corporations run the internet and want to turn it solely into advertisement space, they'd obviously want to make it as family friendly as possible, and for the largest possible demographic, to try and appease as many advertisers as possible. that's why you see ads in every possible crevice of a website and why things that are a little more inappropriate than milquetoast are demonetized.
@biggestastiest Жыл бұрын
@@X3RNEA5 also parenting is super hard, and finding enrichment for your kid that won't bore them out of their minds is harder in the internet age. attention spans are getting shorter, we're in a recession so job days are getting longer, and parents need to get smarter about finding ways to entertain their kids instead of letting the ipads and tvs babysit them
@X3RNEA5 Жыл бұрын
@@biggestastiest I agree. So for now we really cannot leave our children in the faces of internet give them the full access around the ages of 14-16 as they would know by then how to be protected
@huhhuh9598 Жыл бұрын
@@X3RNEA5 I'd argue simply banning them untill an age is not really going to solve it. It's only a little less skintape solution to the blanket banning that KZbin is trying to do. Kids are stupid good at getting through obstacles even more so if they are determined to do it because everything forbidden becomes much more intresting, because they are naturally curious that will want to check out everything especially if you hide it. They will want an answer, and once they have gotten a satisfactory enough one they will move on to other things that seem more intresting. So really, giving them a good explanation is vital. I think my parents that are otherwise rather illiterate in the web, did it well by explaining why a certain thing was bad or dangerous and to follow a few simple rules and what to do if you encounter something bad. Don't click on random link and don't try to buy anything with real money, don't ever tell your personal information to anyone, be carefull with the strangers you talk to and immedietly click away if you encounter something bad or gross. And if there is anything going on please share that with your parents and they will know what to do. Of course, this would require for parents to foster an active relationship with their child and that's a near impossible thing to ask. But if we are already asking them to do that and take responsibility, I think it's misguided to only shoot for them using very rough/uncivilized tools to keep their children safe. I also don't want to give abusive parents more tools of their disposal to limit and cut their children away from the outside world, I have encountered and lost plenty of friends over parents being unreasonably fearfull and treating their teenagers like innocent toddlers. I wonder if launching programs to help parents understand the internet and possible risks and how to talk to their child more other than just treating it like the computer will physically assault their precious. I know this is biased but I can't help but find it bitterly humorous how grown ups around me acted like near every single internet user was a potentional child predator and then had 4 people hit on me on the shiny streets of the progressive parts of the western world, all while I was blatantly underage. One even shameleslly right in front of my parents. I also never got the argument how not seeing someone's face makes it more dangerous. Yeah they will say meaner shit but that's about what a single individual will do- otherwise they will groom and manipulate you just as easily online as in person, there is no set of bodily appearance that you can immedietly tell is going to be predatory lol. If anything, having documented texts makes it harder to gaslight you, even if those can be faked and all the associated jazz. But I'l stop here since I already went off topic.

Maybe my child would hate me for being restrictive, but I'd take that over them being scarred for life any day.

It was never a wonderland. I was being exposed to ISIS beheadings, child pornography, beastality, and videos of people committing suicide online as young as 8. The suicide videos were on KZbin. The internet has always been like this and only now is there a murmur about the dangers of it. What I’ve witnessed has scarred me for life and I can remember every piece of horrific shit I saw down to the pixel. To me this is worse since it advertises to kids. Once they get older it won’t get much better, since they would be developing unusual sexual behaviors and will likely be groomed online. I was. I was for years

Not neglectful, just uneducated. Most parents grew up with things like classifications, and parental locks that prevented them from watching anything other than nickolodeon and Disney. They understandably expect youtube kids to be the same. Most parents these days, especially single working parents or parents who have kids with special needs, don't think twice about letting their kids watch youtube kids for an hour so they can complete household chores or tend to another child, and they really fucking shouldn't have to. They have already put parental locks on their internet access to stop their kids watching anything they think will be unsafe. Labelling these parents as neglectful is extremely judgemental.

At about 6 years old I was scared of a certain Resident Evil 5 death animation, my dad played it on release and I briefly saw it, and my first exposure to porn was at 11. I was into creepy stuff around 14 and even found some real snuff. It was totally insane, but at least I was old enough to understand right from wrong. More than that, I understood that it's a shock content, nothing more. Now I'm an average 19 year old guy, and I'm really concerned for my younger brother. He's a perfect audience for this kind of shit, and I'm not even here to talk about it with him, because I moved to another city for university. I know my parents won't give a fuck about anything he's watching on his tablet... ...with that being said, at least i tried to make him spend less time on KZbin. I got him a 2DS for his birthday last year and a Wii U this year and packed them with Mario games. He enjoys playing video games a lot, and he loves his consoles too. It's not a complete deterrent for sure, but I hope it would be enough to keep him from KZbin for some time. Kudos to you for getting out of it, that is at least uncommon thing. What I feel makes Elsagate even more disturbing is the fact that we know NOTHING about the people who make these kinds of things and their motives besides speculation based on their actions. U would think that with so many of these channels and with how long they’ve been going on for that one of the creators would defect and spill the beans yet even when news outlets try to investigate them they find nothing or the people they find refuse to be interviewed
@e5858 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think specific people are behind this. Though this is just a theory of my own, I think that these videos are the sad results of a lack of communication. A company’s higher-ups want to make content that appeals to young children, and they use an algorithm to do so. The higher-ups don’t know what the algorithm is forcing their workers to create; the workers don’t have the confidence (or means) to complain to their bosses about what they have to create.
@mrvespuccia.k.ameganite1747 Жыл бұрын
E that’s a good theory and I believe it could be possible if these videos are primarily made in foreign countries where lack of cultural understanding, the use of algorithms, poverty and language barriers are the reason for why these videos are made and why no one hasn’t spoken up. Although there are plenty of holes bc this is still speculation and we don’t know which ones are foreign made and which ones are made in the u.s.

I am SOOO GLAD THAT PEOPLE ARE FINALLY TALKING ABOUT THIS. It’s absolutely disgusting that this stuff is happening again, and it REALLY doesn’t help when the CREATORS OF POPPY’S PLAYTIME ARE LITERALLY CREATING THESE VIDEOS THEMSELVES. For those who don’t know, the creators of poppy’s playtime, MOB Games own the channels Enchantedmob and ZAMination, where they post these types of videos using Poppy’s playtime characters and a number of other characters from different franchises that are popular. The videos are obviously directed towards kids, and any genius that watches the videos will be able to tell, but the videos are unbelievably suggestive and are helping fuel the flames of suggestive use of kid’s characters in videos made for kids, and it’s directly filling their bank accounts with the amount of Poppy’s Playtime content being made. *also I am so glad to finally see someone else who dislikes Poppy’s Playtime and Huggy Wuggy or anything associated with it as much as me damn-*

Not on the channels, not on the creepy commenters, not anywhere else, and especially not on corporate KZbin. I’m so frustrated by this whole situation and that it even got to this point. I have a few memories of my mom making me feel like I was the absolute scum of the earth all because I was too young to tell the difference between Cartoon Network and Adult Swim and got caught watching things like Family Guy (thinking it was just another cartoon). If you see your kid engaging in content that's not appropriate for them, your immediate instinct should be to educate them and start monitoring their media intake more closely - not fly off the handles and make them feel like complete dogshit as if they deliberately set out to do something wrong. All that does is encourage them to start actively trying to hide shit from you for fear of another one-sided screaming match that ends with them sobbing.

I'll share my 2¢. Possible reasons for the fetishism, and why Vietnamese. I grew up as an early GenZ, and I remember when young, "happy 3 friends" and other explicit adult sites and terms where the rage. It's the curiosity of an not-fully-mature kid to want to find and watch things that they don't understand but get intrigued by. Things like pregnancy (and how babies just pop), the forbidden access to other's genitalia, feet cleanliness, and excrement. Things that we all have personal experience with but are never allowed to talk about with others and in public. The bad thing is that repeated exposure does cultivate a kind of fetishism. We biologically don't find human body contact and saliva and things disgusting when in the heat because, well, those that didn't were able to complete the deed and have kids with similar traits passed down, while those who got grossed out and never had the "gross meter" switched off during the heat, probably weren't successful in their propagation But we know that sexuality and taboo tends to be linked, I don't want to make guesses or reasoning but just point out the correlation. It's why paraphilia exists, and in more modest societies there is more prevalence in voyeurism-linked searches online, compared to more liberated societies where especially things like toplessness are normal and nothing more arousing than just a simple, "oh looks good" kinda remark we would say when seeing, maybe, a pretty face. Another one is scary stuff. Scarousal. It also is correlated with sexuality and again those who gave up when in fear were not able to have kids, while those who could despite being scared were able to continue and hence pass the trait down. So in terms of popularity, such things that (1) fearful and forbidden to kids, (2) are scarce because adults don't really care about them, and (3) easily creatable by adults because it's not scarce to adults like it is to kids, and (4) still contain something of a gateway to ease kids in despite the unfamiliar content. - these makes things popular to kids. Happy 3 friends? It had these 4. Many kids who are victims of s.abuse? It was something (1) they didn't understand or know, and (2) not common among kids, but (3) adults could easily commit such acts, and (4) the abuser was a known relative so there was some gateway. The perfect cocktail. (1) preganacy, sex, needles and poop; (2) they are adult-related themes; (3) they are easily accessible to adults unlike something like war or radicalisation which fits the first 2 not the 3rd, and (4) throw in a cartoon character to ease in the kids #-------- As to why Vietnam? (btw I like how you said Vietnam and then zoomed into an Indian name) I'm guessing these reasons: (1) quick and easy money making scheme by people in a region without much regulation and care, (2) forced. Cambodia has a similar gang ring of kidnapped migrant workers dupped into coming for better work opportunity, and are forced to scam people in Singapore and USA. Such love scams, youd wonder who will do such heartless things, but they often have no choice. A Malaysian was tracked down and hacked to death in Malaysia by the gang for trying to expose them. Usually led by Chinese folks, and Chinese authorities close an eye since they aren't doing this rubbish in their borders and are sending in good remittances. So I won't put it far that these might be forced. Same line as those Vietnamese videos of "daily vlogs" of cooking or cleaning, where shorts are shot and loose, and blouse are huge and low hanging, and lots of unnecessary back-breaking bending done (3) they are grooming. Vietnam and the region prohibit prostitution. For some place nearby like Singapore where it is legal, it is very regulated and police keeps a close eye so not much goes wrong. But in Vietnam and such, these places they are forbidden but are not heavily regulated. So you have a lot of illegal black markets for this. And unfortunately, this leads to a sex-tourism destination popular among other nations. Worst is that unlike many westerners, east and southeast folks have very strong neonatal features (ie short and young looking). As an Asian we do find Westerners very old or mature looking especially when we see expats or even exchange students of the same age. But we can tell very clearly with our conditioned eyes if someone is like teenage-young, or adult-young. Honestly it can be brutal to try and maintain flawless look here, but I digress Anyways, you can deduce that this also means very predatory folks come to Vietnam for a certain "flavour". And among those with paraphilia, it's is not uncommon for someone to have multiple of them. So how do you make more money and capture more markets and dig deep into niche markets in this brutal unregulated slave ring? Groom. That's possibly that's happening. It's a two step thing, though I doubt they realised it was 2 step, but just wanted to groom the folks that they can then kidnap or convince to join their slave ring: (a) kids watching become more comfortable and hence less repulsive to such things, especially when it's delivered in such a fetished way (b) at risk youths watching, who do not know better and may not have appropriate parental guidance, might unknowingly develop the fetish and paraphilia. Unlike adults who develop them and responsibly exercise the fetish, kids may not have that maturity, and may not be able to overcome the biological arousal, and when they grow up with the paraphilia now in an uncontrolled and dangerous level, it will take more than just watching online to satisfy, so they might want to seek out these markets. Hence increased client base Idk might be a bit far fetched but maybe?

I believe I know what you're talking about and those videos were made for a mature audience. It sucks children accidentally stumble upon these but the videos discussed here are deliberately traumatizing kids
@andromxda Жыл бұрын
@@kawaiiqueee It doesn’t matter if it was intended for a mature audience. The title and thumbnail give no warning that it’s mature material, and the thumbnail itself is just a picture of the two characters, in the same art style as the show, dancing. There is absolutely no way for a child to know what the contents inside the video are, and no way to shield them away. In fact, the video’s warning is less then half a second long, merely a few frames (not exaggerating) and the disclaimer itself doesn’t at all say what’s in the content, it just says the video can cause you to be aroused, which is not something that should be in a warning anyways. At least NSFW art can be posted to websites meant for NSFW art, and it will stay in its lane. But making gore and NSFW of kids show characters and posting them on youtube in a place where kids are actively seeking out content about the show they like, it’s just asking for kids to see it. Especially when it’s not age restricted at all. In the same way people make videos of huggy wuggy making someone pregnant and sticking people with needles, the creators could easily say “this was made for a mature audience” and it would be the same excuse. No warnings, no way of indicating it’s mature at all. But that’s what they tell you to keep their videos from getting taken down. If you look at the comments of the video I’m talking about, nearly ALL of them are about how they found it as a child, and it traumatized them. Intentions no longer matter at that point, it’s still incredibly irresponsible.

I grew up in the early-mid 00's. We had ebaums world and happy tree friends. This isn't new. But it affects people different. Gore doesn't bother me. It also doesn't arouse me either. It's just not something that shakes me to my core. I'm a firefighter, I've seen some real bad shit in my years. It's just a part of the job, compartmentalize it, do your fuckin thing and talk to someone about it if it sticks around or haunts you. You never forget the bad shit you see. I've seen fellow firefighters completely lose everything after a bad call. Family left, got into alcohol, got fired from both jobs for failing alcohol tests. People reached out immediately after noticing something was off. Dude just refused to talk about it. Ruined his entire life. Fuckin crazy how the mind works so differently from person to person.

This absolutely needs to be spread around, the information is NEEDED to be known. I cannot IMAGINE the subconscious psychological damage to the neglected children who get caught into this stuff. I remember being young and finding some similar weird shit in Newgrounds but not NEARLY AS MUCH OR NEARLY AS DESTURBING. And EVEN THAT was slightly traumatizing to me, especially at the time. The thing that's ESPECIALLY BAD about it is the fact that even if you don't like it when you're a child there is a morbid compulsive itch to keep finding and looking at it, AND THAT'S the worst part it desturbs you but you feel COMPELLED to keep watching

I looked up “Hey Arnold full episode” with the playlist filter, and…it’s all right there. It’s honest to God one of the most disturbing things I’ve seen. Like seeing a conspiracy theory come to life before your eyes. And when I start looking at the sheer amount of content - channels making the playlists plus channels making the videos in the playlists - it does feel hopeless. I thought the ending speech in this video was just a touch cheesy, but after searching and seeing the sheer amount myself…your speech feels like the biggest thing giving me reason to do something about it. As difficult as it is to expose myself to this content, I’m already a grown adult at 27 who’s processed seeing too much shocking content as a kid - yet still not nearly to this quantity. This cannot infect our future generations.

The best thing you can do to protect young kids from bad shit on the internet is BE IN THE ROOM WITH THEM. Don't let young kids have unmonitored internet access. No wifi devices out of your presence. I’m glad someone said it. I’ve grown up with Elsagate practically 2/5 of my life and from that left genuine trauma. I remember not only Elsa and spider man but Jack Frost and other bullshit along those lines. I found out and was intoxicated by the topic of intercourse at the age of 7. Simply with KZbin and safari I could sneak and watch litteral pornography. I admit I was fucked up as a child but the fact that no one said anything was worse. I’m now 16 and know many kids who are slowly but sure getting invested in Elsa gate. I always take procaution and advice the parents on what their watching + the effects in them. I just hope these videos get taken down because kids who are the future of this world should not grow up like the way I and others did. Edit: bro just thinking about this topic reminds me on how deep I got into the rabbit whole that I deadass remembered the time I watched animations of literal people shitting in their partners mouth. It was so realistic it looked like internal organs…

I didn’t necessarily watch elsa gate, but I remember also becoming almost addicted in a way to the idea of intercourse at an extremely young age. While I didn’t watch elsa gate I watched a lot of more mature youtubers who would make jokes I didn’t understand, so I’d look it up, and one thing would lead to another. It’s saddening looking back on it. I feel like I grew up too fast due to my young exposure of the internet. I wish I didn’t have such unrestricted access. And I see it on my classmates too, all of us try acting so mature and so adult for our ages. Kids can’t be kids anymore and teens can’t be teens. I feel like growing up with the Internet warped all of our views on life for the worst. I hope one day we can find a solution for this. I went to a local fair once with a five year old girl (about last year. I was 15 weeks away from turning 16) and she sees kids from her class. She asks me if she can talk with them for a bit and I told her she can. One of those kids had a rainbow huggy wuggy plush he got, and began explaining the Elsagate stuff he sees on KZbin to the girl I was watching. I was in sheer disgust. Then the girl asked me if we can go get a plush too and recreate the content. I was like “No. Let’s actually get a different toy instead.” Luckily the girl does not watch that content, and she came home with a toy doggy. I came home with a bucket hat that day. And I am proud to this day that even though I do not have kids myself, I managed to get a kid out of that situation fast.

Thank you so much for the video. It truly is important for people to see child free or not. As someone who is child free but works with children this really hits close to me. It honestly baffles me that parents don’t watch what their kids do on the internet. When I was younger (early 2000’s) we had a family computer that was in the kitchen so when I went on the internet my parents could watch what I was doing (and would ask what I was doing if I stumbled across something inappropriate). Now a days some of the kids that I work with watch theses strange and frankly terrifying videos right in front of the parents and they do nothing … I’ve even asked the kid what they’re watching and the parents still does nothing… like I guess I have to trust the parents that they know what’s appropriate for the kid … like I don’t get it is it a generational issue or is it that people are more apathetic, or not educated enough.
