Nice little gadget that can magnify your subject, it weight nothing, it cost nearly nothing, but it is a quality conversion lens, that you should bring with you, just in case.
This is my little review. I try it on my RF 100-400mm and my LAOWA 65mm lens, with many photos at different focal lenght and apertures.

UPDATE: i used that raynox quite a bit since the video. I think that it is probably best to use it with a focal lenght between 50mm and 100mm. Over 100mm, at least with my RF100-400, the DOF is really tiny, and i think we may have too much diffraction problems if you close too much your aperture... Again, that Raynox complete very well my laowa 65mm for exemple. Much more fun with it. Cheers!

I love the raynox, but have not used it enough - it's fun on the 75-300 olympus lens I have but you are right on the diffraction, its much more pronounced compared to the dedicated macro lens' - I have not actually tried it with any of my macro lenses yet!

@@BMadPhoto yes, that gadget is convenient in some situations. It gives me something like 2.9 : 1 magnification with my Laowa. Thanks for the comment BMadPhoto! 😀👍

@@Chrispitchwildlife Thank you for the explantation and the (frenchy, isn't it? ) accent .. I ordered a Raynox DCR250mm and will try i t on the field. But i read that it works perfectly for 75mm and more focal lengths... Will keep you posted as soon as i tested it enough... regards from Dakar-Sénégal

Thank you Jonny! 😀 We are in the coolest season here. And the wind don't help with the photo, but it is very much appreciated anyway. 😀

Thank's again for commenting Rat! 😀 Here we have 2 season: too hot, and ok hot. We are in the middle of ok hot with a bit of nice wind. Yeah, I saw a nice leafhopper today, I tried many stacks on him. It will be a surprise if it works or not. Since I got a new fast flash I enjoy more stacking in slow burst mode. I hope you ll have fun! 😀

Is it possible to get more magnification by using a set of step up and down ring as an extension tube between the lens and rynox dcr-250 ?

Hello Macro! I have no idea. I will see if I can try with what I have and maybe put an answer in my next video which is about all those things. Tubes, rings and Raynox on different lenses. Cheers! 😀✌️

Ok I tried. With a bit more than 1 cm away from the lens I lost a 3 mm of magnification. Focusing manually at minimum focus distance on my scale. 🧐 But, that was with my RF35. Who knows what happen if I try on a different lens!

This diopter works incredibly well with the: "Nikkor 70-300mm AF VR IF" lens, producing very sharp images.

I just tried on my Laowa 65mm. It works but you gain very little and you loose 2 cm of working distance. And with one more glass I am not sure about the quality/distortion/diffraction etc... I think it's not worth it.

How long distanse between the lens and the subject?
@Chrispitchwildlife
@Chrispitchwildlife 5 ай бұрын
Thank's for your comment! With the Raynox attached to the RF 100-400, the distance is between 9 and 10cm. Attached to the Laowa at minimum focus distance it is at 2.6cm . This is what I remember. Cheers! 😀

@@Chrispitchwildlife with raynox 250 can I use with auto fokus lens?
@Chrispitchwildlife
@Chrispitchwildlife 5 ай бұрын
@@faryd.dchannel7333 autofocus can be very messy with high minification, but it should work. Here is the answer from DPreview: "It works. But as it is a macro /close up attachment you are limited in focus distance. You have to keep the lens within a certain distance to subject to focus. AF works very well."
