New blast bronze is painted. No longer anodized. OG bronze (almite bronze) is anodized.

Depending on your size and offset, because of the work queue RAYS goes through and the effort it takes to generate 1 wheel, they space out scheduling so that they can do 20 wheels at a time or more. If you have a size, offset and bolt pattern that isn't common that may be the time. Additionally, even if they are pressed it takes some time to freight them over to us here in a cost effective manner since wheels are large / heavy. That's the best response I have, and I offer around 6months to 1 year for my customers wheels as well.

@@blackcti Normal street driving shouldn't heat a wheel enough to affect its integrity even after over a decade especially a forged wheel that's been subjected to very high temperatures in the manufacturing process. Just look at how many old cars from the 70s, 80s, and 90s are running around on their original OEM wheels without issue. Cumulative damage over time though from hitting potholes or corrosion from road salt can compromise the wheel - usually at the rim and the bead - to the point where they need to be replaced. That's still much less likely to happen to a forged wheel - I've had to replace a flow-formed wheel before after a trackday but not yet a forged one. If you don't know the history of a used wheel though you should have an experienced wheel technician check it out though to make sure it's still okay.

@@blackcti OG TEs would be a great conversation piece on the right car especially among JDM fans. At least you've still got some great wheels in the S-plus! I've got an old set of TE37s myself plus another set of TE37SLs on another car. I'm actually looking to replace the older set but the huge brake kit on the car is making it more difficult to find a good fit. A brand new set of CE28SLs didn't have the same clearance as the old TEs lol.

Ah yeah. I missed this one because I felt the 6061 and the Dura series are a big deviation from the 6 spokes without drilling into it. I'll do a dedicated video for it if I ever get a set in.

Very hard to tell sometimes. Weight gives it away for the most part, but gotta look back of hub, engravings etc. Best bet is to buy new and from a reputable or authorized seller

Wow i didn't know te37 was made with such high level of forging and even materials. Great video I just wish Rays made 18x13" for racing applications especially when most of its features are for racing. I know 12 wide is there but that 1 extra inch makes tread width bigger. Question: for the same size and width is ze40 lighter than te47? also are the gram lights if any lighter than those 2?

In 18x9.5 between +38 and +45 I found the following: TE37SL is 18lbs, TE37Saga is 19.4lbs and ZE40 is 18.4lbs

I have a set of OG TE37s in the OG bronze. They're pretty beat up and want to repair and respray in the OG bronze. I heard that the paint code is pretty much locked up and not available for public. Anyone know a good alternative for the bronze paint code?

I'd just go to the shop doing the work and get the paint swabs and just keep putting them beside the wheel until I find one that matches. Very hard to match since its anodized.

ETA's have been tough the past 2 years. When different countries have COVID it affects supply, manufacturing and then shipping also has had huge delays. I've had many wheels come in way past ETA. It's worth the wait, but I share your frustrations because I have to share it with every customer I've had in the past 2 years.

@@RealWheelDeal I certainly do understand the challenges as I too work in a manufacturing industry. However some of these companies simply need to stop taking orders if they cannot produce product. The company that manufactured my exhaust did exactly that after they went on a 6-month back order. Rays told me 6-months & then a year & now 18-months. Who knows if I will ever receive my $4k wheels.

You say 6061-T6 is the best. Well actually that is wrong. 7075-T6 is a more high end forged alloy. Which is used in TE37 Dura and BBS FI-R for example.

Hey Rich, Thanks. Agreed with what you mean for strength. 7075 is a lot stronger in tensile strength, than 6061 which might make it seem the best due to strength, but the 6061 aluminum has better thermal conductivity which is why I brought up the heat dissipation.
