I'm 57, i have no children. It was by choice. I could see no reason to pass my bad personality traits to the next generation. That is what was done to me. Made worse by my parents being 18. Accept who you are and what you want. My wife decided to stay with me for that reason. She had parent issues also. No children appealed to her.

I have seen people in my extended family and friend circle who have been extremely bad at parenting, either they have raised unruly kids or depressed kids. Highly irresponsible parenting, and it's sad because such people aren't meant to be parents at all. I always find it better to not have kids than to have kids just for the sake of having kids. You should only have kids when you genuinely want them and will show the love and care for them. I have seen kids brought in into this world who have parents that dont really love them and its sad

I didn't want kids, but I was pressure by family. Now all that family abandoned me and my son because he's handicapped and no one wants to help. I love my son, but I feel so bad because he has to struggle for the rest of his life and it all my selfish family's fault. I can't change the past, but if I had known, I would not have had my son.
