Ash floored me, didn't like it in the highlight medley but completely beat me to the ground. March is unexpectedly catchy. If you leave me is a MASTERCLASS in ballads, I'm so astonished at how even the hiphop unit has such emotional colours in their vocals. Mingyu and Vernon have really been coming for the vocal parts the past few comebacks and it's unreal how good they sound.

Don Quixote is "an impractical idealist" (character) from a novel. Woozi starts the songs follow by Vernon's rap. Mingyu owned this era, especially in Don Quixote and Shadow. Fyi, in 44:47 (ASH) woozi did the rapping part.

Roughly it's about Don Quixote who likes to read stories about knights till he thinks of himself as one 'cause he can't tell fantasy and reality apart. Because of that he starts to go on little adventures where he for example fights against windmills but they never end well, that's why he's also referred to as 'the impertinently curious man' or 'el caballero de la triste figura' (the knight of the sad figure). there is no unit song in this album😍 Woozi says FaceTheSun only contains group songs (no unit songs), it was an idea they discussed ahead of time "Units are of course important to SVT but this album was about expressing our inner selves. From the 1st stages, we thought it would be difficult but it turned out great"

don quixote is the name of a novel (and the main character of the novel). it was originally published in the 1500s in spain, so it's a classic! the premise of the novel is that don quixote thinks he's a chivalrous knight like in all of the fictional stories he reads and he goes travelling in seek of adventures. but in reality he's just a guy who's living in a delusional fantasy. there's a famous scene where he tries to fight a windmill bc he thinks it a giant (like from a fairytale). the whole book is pretty much that kind of thing, where it juxtaposes the grand, heroic things don quixote thinks he's doing with the reality of the people around him who are at best inconvenienced in their day-to-day life by his delusions the book was originally meant to be a parody of the popular escapist fiction of knights and chivalry that were very popular at the time. nowadays, when don quixote is referenced, it's usually in reference to something that's both idealistic and unrealistic. there's actually a word in the dictionary, "quixotic" that comes from "quixote", it's definition being "exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical" i'm actually really looking forward to seeing the translation of the lyrics, i'm curious how they used this literary reference or what they're using it to refer to!

Its funny how most of the time the voices that you could actually guessed correctly are seungkwan's and wonwoo's, and sometimes dk too. And just from seeing this vid only, you always got seungcheol's voice and mingyu's switched haha

The best i can tell the members by voice is: SC: raspy, scratchy, almost strained for effect, does most of the growls JH: light, airy, almost like he breaths the notes JS: a little nasally in comparison to the others, almost whiny (but not in a bad way) JN: i personally can hear his accent when he sings, plus listening to a lot of performance unit song helps zone in on it HS: very unique tone, kinda like a minor stuffy nose in some spots, easy to pick up on when u know its him WW: deep, soft, bass, smooth voice WZ: whiny, a little strained, listen to a lot vocal unit songs, they each have unique tones DK: power, adlibs, very tight cut offs of air at the end of his notes MG: he has a slight lisp, raspy raspy raspy T8: again, i can hear his accent and sometimes sound like the words slur together? SK: his voice sounds airier than DK when singing, soulful VN: soft, smooth, not as deep as ww but deeper than gyu DN: a lot of the times if it's not the other 12 it's dino :') his voice is just unique compared to the others.

i have been a carat since 2015 so i can tell their voices apart so easily i wanted to be right beside you to help you recognize their voices and tell you who was singing in every part so badly 😭 i just spend all this time telling you who the right member was through the screen sjdhdh you confuse mingyu a lot with seungcheol and vernon… and i hope you react to the rest of vernon’s solo music so you can realize his versatility as an artist and musician is !! all of his solo music and the music he produces is very different to each other… he has done ballads, hype songs, hiphop, etc he’s just very versatile ❤️‍🩹 thank you for this reaction through

this album is a group album and this is the first group album for seventeen (full album i mean) henggarae is group album too but mini album. so this is OT13 singing this is really a NO SKIP ALBUM. feelin like roller coaster listening to this album ❤️🔥

I pre-ordered all 5 versions 😌 I wanted to timestamp who is singing but I'm not that confident with all 13 voices yet...(I'm pretty confident with my ult Jeonghan tho, also with my biases Seungcheol and Joshua) All the tracks can be the title track I'm serious ☀️🔥🌡️ Don Quixote(Kee-how-tee), written by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, is a novel about a man and his 'squire' trying to prove that chivalry is not dead and aspiring to be heroes. All hiphop unit members loves growling and it's kinda hard to distinguish between them but they have distinct way to sing so I still can tell who is singing... 노래해 ('bout you) - sing 'bout you(it's not a hiphop unit song) I think there is no unit songs in this album (all OT13) Heng;garæ also doesn't have a unit song (all OT13) If you leave me was what I anticipated the most because of the highlight medley

This album is indeed awesome. I loved 7/9 (including Darl+ing) songs from this album. The title track seemed so different from the SEVENTEEN I’ve known. I may have not been a Carat for as long as they have been a group, but I’ve heard pretty much all of their discography. Also what’s interesting about this album is not only it’s different sound but also the fact that DK and Seungkwan don’t have many lines throughout the entire album. It seems they wanted to highlight and let other members shine (btw Mingyu sounds so good singing in this entire album). I don’t have a problem with that because the songs are all bops, but I do miss the main vocalists’ voices 😅. Edited: (Btw the part where you thought it was Vernon, that was Mingyu singing. His raspy and deep voice sounds so good. Idk if this is any help, but the way I try to tell apart Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon’s voices apart are by trying to hear Mingyu’s raspy voice, Wonwoo’s even deeper but smoother voice, and Vernon’s voice that gives off swag vibes. And yes, the part where you thought it was DK was correct. To me, DK has more of a musical sounding voice and the cry he usually adds at the end of his lines is really distinguishable while Seungkwan sounds like he has a clearer, brighter, and more piercing voice.) Edited again: Actually it’s not just DK and Seungkwan that don’t have many lines, the whole vocal unit doesn’t. Though Woozi seems to have a few more lines than the other vocal unit members. There is no unit song, but every member that isn’t in the vocal unit (plus the vocal unit tho obv) did a wonderful job singing in this album.
