Digital combat simulator, razbam and heatblur have made it an amazing time in simulation gaming… If someone would have told me when I was a kid that I could put on a headset and sit in 1:1 simulation of a multitude fighter jets, planes, and helicopters I would have never believed it

Just look back at sims like F-15E Strike Eagle 1-3 from Microprose, F/A-18 Interceptor from Bob Dinnerman and many others to see how far we have come in just about 30 years. It's insane!

I just found your channel, fantastic stuff here. I'm a disabled Army vet, my therapy is building plastic model aircraft to keep my hands and brain working together. I can see that this will be a great place for research on some future projects I have. In 2016 I had a near fatal accident, I had multiple skull fractures, a spinal injury and tore both hands apart. I had been a modeler casually since I was a kid, but the doctors actually suggested returning to the hobby to rebuild the part of my brain involving reasoning and restore my motor skills. I try to build documented subjects as much as possible, that way I can look at the subject and compare my work to it. Thanks for the content, looks like I'm going to be busy for the next few weeks.

@@comencoomer9854 Actually the project I was working on when I post my comment was the 1/72 Revell of Germany's X-35B. This aircraft won the JSF competition against the X-32 (which I am also building) and was significantly different than the production F-35B.....which I have already built. I like doing prototypes whenever possible to pose next to the production model to show the evolution of the aircraft.

@3:43 thank you for pointing this out. Contrary to the “not a pound for air to ground” meme , the “light grey” Air Superiority Eagles do have air to ground capability. Regardless of the macho bluster exchanged at the bar , USAF component commanders will not accept an aircraft which can’t conduct basic air to ground missions.

Pretty smart move by the USAF, their Eagles got all the prestigious CAP missions and AA kills, because they were useless at anything else (officially). And the Navy got the ground pounding.

The Navy’s Tomcats didn’t have BVR authentication tools that the Eagles did, and had to escort their strikers from the carrier into Iraq and back out. That meant they had to turn away from potential kill opportunities because their mission was to protect their charges( F/A-18s/ A-6s / etc) not rack up a kill tally.

@@172ndairwing4 The F-14 lacked the NCTR capabilities of the AN/APG-63(V1), but if there is any information how useful that turned out in practice, it is really difficult to find. It was more a sarcastic comment on how the USAF F-15 were sometimes looking for a mission, while the Israeli F-15C/D already conducted impressive strike missions during Operation Wooden Leg and similar. Yet the USAF stubbornly avoided to even consider the idea of putting bombs on their precious Eagles.

Nope. the JASDF F-15J is based on the F-15C.

No. The F-15J is a derivative of the F-15C, and the F-15DJ is a derivative of the F-15D. There is no Japanese analog to the F-15E. However, the F-15K Slam Eagle for Korea, Israel's F-15I, Singapore's F-15SG, and Saudi Arabia's F-15S are all F-15E variants, usually with a couple specially-requested additional capabilities (Harpoon anti-ship missile and SLAM and KEPD cruise missiles in the case of the Korean order).

Bro WTF is a Razbam 💀💀💀💀💀 The normal Israeli Eagles (F-15A/B/C/D variants) are collectively called 'Baz' The F-15I, which isn't a copy&paste F-15E Strike Eage but a modified version with domestic avionics and hardware, is called 'Ra'am'. edit: nvm I figured 'Razbam' is a name of a project group, thought you refered to the Israeli F-15I.

I don't know where you get that 90% number from but, I know you are dead wrong about that. I have been flying with ED since the Flanker Days, and again with Blackshark before they even made it into a module for DCS:World. Do you know why after FC3 released they stopped the development of simple flight models? People don't want them. The biggest sellers and the aircraft that populate the multiplayer servers are 80% full fidelity modules. Now, just because you don't like full fidelity and your small group of people don't doesn't meant that 90% of the people using DCS won't buy a full fidelity module. In fact, just the forums on ED own website support this, and that Razbam, Heatblur and Indiafoxtecho all are working on full fidelity modules and there has been little talk of ED's own "Ace Combat" like game for years now, again tells me, that the people that are buying modules are buying full fidelity.
