what are the pros and cons of using open and close bases. Essentially, what different strengths and weaknesses do each form have? For example, is the close base better for heavier designs? or is the open base more flexible?
@razcapapercraft9 жыл бұрын
***** Close bases are more solid and have more stability and I use this base especially in the lower part of the models (such as in baskets , vases swans ...) Open base It is more flexible and use to models with multiple layers like Flowers designs made from several segments.
@long22049 жыл бұрын
razcapapercraft Thanks. Also, I have a problem. my pieces cannot come round to make a circle. I am currently attempting to complete the flower project using the open base but they cannot bend at all. I noticed your pieces are more curvy and that the pieces have circular holes. Mine is pretty much flat. What can I do? Can I give you and email to discuss this?

You have to make puffy pieces or this won't work. 1) Make stacks of about 16 pieces or more. This widens them. 2) Use the round end of a pen to flatten (and fatten) each piece's bottom ie round bit, one at a time, starting from the top of the stack. Flatten the first piece, take it off the stack and repeat. 3)Put the last 5 or so pieces on top of the next stack for uniform width an repeat process I hope this ends your frustration 😊
@user-tq4jm6cs3q8 жыл бұрын
You can also do them separately so they're the same. When I did this, my pen kinda ruined the paper XD
