I can confirm that g502's number of clicks lasted 1 year before not breaking but sometimes not sensing that the right mouse has been pushed down. As for the mouse wheel, it also suffers this issue.

So about that preference for easy buttons @6:47 , the Razer Basilisk V3 has potentially six buttons on the thumb, ten assignable functions on the scroll wheel, two functions for the right click, two functions on the Scroll Mode toggle button, two more on the Cycle up sensitivity stage button, the cycle profile button can be resassigned and then there an option for additional function to be assigned to left click for a total of something like twenty three functions in the right hand within easy access via Razer Hypershit. Combine this mouse with the Razer Tartarus Pro for access to deeper layers of keybinds with very minimal finger tip travel and peak agility in games or productivity. The Tartarus Pro has button actuation and secondary function on twenty of the keys that can execute two functions on one key press depending on how deep you press. That's something like forty possible functions before hypershifting into another layer of fourty possible functions. Then there's a scroll wheel that can be assigned six more functions. Sixteen functions can be assigned to the thumb stick. The big thumb button can be configured for two functions. I can effortlessly manipulate something like a one hundred and twenty four possible functions at my fingertips between this mouse and the kyapad before hypershifting into another layer.Then there are profiles. Training muscle memory for this setup is like learning how to play an instrument. The only thing a keyboard is good for in my situation is to type a message. Synapse is hardly spoken about because it does not seem to work smoothly or reliably on anything but high performance systems that can effortless spare processing power. It's earned a reputation for being bloatware. But when it does work, it opens up a world of possibilities and functionality that I did not find in other peripherals. Such as making possible an extremely customizable keybind setup between a mouse and keypad that can execute an execcsive amount of functions.

Every logitech mouse I've bought with blue Omron switches has ended up double clicking due to the fragile metal components in the switch distorting over time. If you're a very light clicker it's probably fine but if you go ham you'll have to avoid every logitech mouse lol. My 502 lightspeed ended up in the bin within a few months, fantastic mouse just let down by the switches. The more robust main switches on the basilisk ultimate never miss a beat no matter how badly I use them. Although the button layout on the 502 line is much better as the forward/back buttons are in a more comfortable position for me and feel more satisfying to press. The dpi 'clutch' on the basilisk is essentially a useless gimmick as it's set too far forward requiring you to change your grip position to press it. Despite numerous complaints about the lever still being too short they've never bothered updating it, not even in the V3. Nothing a piece of plastic and superglue won't fix though. The V3 looks really great but I think I'd wait for V3 ultimate even if it is quite a bit more pricey. I'd love to be able to design my own mouse, it would be perfect XD

Great perspective and one that I hear often. I do think the DPI clutch button is well placed for my hands as I could reach it when I need it without hassle but I could see that for many hands it wouldn't work well. Def something to consider when I do match ups in the future. I do think that the Basilisk V3 Ultimate might be the best choice for fans of this style when it eventually comes out.

I also loved the G502 but ... I used 6 G502's in total. Starting with the original up to the G502 Hero as my last one. All ended up double clicking and/or issues with the clicks not holding down anymore. I gave up and switched to the Basilisk V3. I finally can rest in peace. I tried the DeathAdder V2 for a while - a great mouse .. but I couldn't get used to the shape. So .. Basilisk V3 it was.

I decided to go with the Razer V3, even though I do prefer the 2 extra Mouse 1 buttons on the Logitech. However, I already have a Razer Tarturus Gamepad, and I like the idea of having the Basilik v3 mouse software together in Synapse, making it easier to deal with, and having less background apps running.

@@Artaherzadeh It proved to be too small for my hands. I found the right mouse button curves over the side, and my ring finger would readily actuate the mouse button accidentally. I just couldn't get over the constant interference. Also, the right button slopes down too far for my taste. I ended up with the Corsair Ironclaw Wireless. I found it to fit my large hands much better, and it has the best buttons that work best for my use. The right mouse button has an edge that allows my ring and pinky fingers to wrap around the edge, holding it firmly without accidentally pressing the right button. It really is the best mouse I think I've ever used.

Same, the Logitech has loose buttons that make an uncanny "Doinggg" when released, the maus is very plastic and it has too many gamer design holes and creases that get filled with dust trapped by sweat after long hours 3d modeling and gaming. The Razer looks more unorthodox with the colors but it has less gaps and rugged covers.

I feel exactly the same way. I conclude Basilisk is a better mouse, but I am so wedded to those two buttons by the first (left) clicker. ON the other hand, I am trying to shift my muscle memory by making the Basilisk’s forward and back side buttons like the two 502 buttons next to the left clicking… except I can’t “Shift” those equivalent buttons on the Razer Basilisk simply due to body mechanics of thumb doing the paddle (used for shift) and the forward/back button at the same time. I hope Logitech cranks out an update version of the 502 to bring it up to or past par with the Basilisk 3. For now, I am trying to adapt to the Razer Basilisk v3

One year after owning G502 Hero left click started failing (When I would select or drag things, it would fail - really annoying). I was able to return it under warranty and I'm getting the V3 now. Hopefully it won't disappoint.

I've had an original G502 Proteus Core for ages, and the scroll wheel is finally giving out. I decided to get a Basilisk V3 for the MX Master-like scroll wheel, optical switches, and better cable. I really don't like the two buttons to the left of M1 on the G502, since they just get in the way. I accidentally hit them all the time, and I can't really bind them to anything useful because they're in such an awkward location. I also can't stand how the "sniper button" on the G502 can't be assigned as M6, and it has to be mapped as a keyboard button to do anything useful. The last issue is that games don't recognize the G502's horizontal scroll as buttons, so it can't be bound to anything.

One thing that I almost never see on these reviews is the middle mouse click. I'm not sure about other PC mouses but the G502 middle mouse click fails fairly quickly; Which is a shame because it's useful in the office world for clicking links for an automatic open tab, useful in the productivity world for orbital viewing, and in the FPS gaming world for 'free-look' and other features. That alone is enough for me to switch to the Basilisk V3. The unlocked scroll wheel and side push buttons for the scroll wheel are another great feature. Honestly, the mouse wheel is overlooked nowadays.

Another thing is also the 'grippy' patterns on the sides. The G502 wears down pretty quick, and because of the nature of the pattern, collects dead skin and dust fairly quickly unless religiously cleaned, regardless of how well you maintain and sanitize your hands/mouse.

To be honest, I tried a Razer 8K and it didn't fit in my hand and I'll take it back to Amazon. I bought it for $60 with a discount, but when I hold it I feel like I'm disabled and I'll replace it with a V3. As for the Glorios, I now own an O model, and the reason I threw it in the trash is its cheap switches And its components. For Logitech, I owned 502 from 2018 to 2020, and I was also suffering from the problem of switches and the destruction of the indicator. I will take it v3 because Razer has the best type of switches of the second generation with 70 million pressures, and this is my first experience with the Razer A

I had to replace mouse a few days ago and went to G502, not even bothered the new X variant. Thing is, X is new, so it was expensive while G502 was on constant sale. Also, Basilisk v3 was on the same shop's display. But I did not bother with Razer since buying one from another company means I need to install another software on my already bloated by 'Corsair/Logitech/ASUS' bloated machine. But then again, when I'm going to make another set up, I'll also try out Razer v3.

Using a G502 Hero SE at the moment, although I like it, I've found to have switched to the Razer ecosystem. I have the Huntsman Elite, Firefly V2 and Nari Ultimate... might aswell treat myself to the mouse and stick to Synapse for my setup. Great video, review and editing! (will let you know how it goes!)

I think I would choose logi g502 hero. It's funny because in my early gaming days in my teenage around 2005-10. We always had that image that Razer is the ultimate gaming brand, we use to drool over razer peripherals and mouse pads. Now when I see Razer products it's just not worth it, very poorly build compared to the price. A premium brand can never compromise on quality even if the price tag gets higher because in long that does more damage to the brand than some momentary profits. It's sad to see such a premium brand making so poor quality products.. 😞

Let me put in short 'n sweet: 1) for a first few months you'll be happier with Basilisk as those tiny shape adjustments make it a bit more comfy than G502 2) after about 6-8 months, that soft side-grip will wear A LOT on Basilisk leaving smooth area under your thumb which will make it weird and even impractical if you lift the mouse 3) switches - optical have lower chance to fail, the one on G502 have much better feedback; if you're worried about double click, I still have a 2014 Proteus Core and 2018 Proteus Spectrum, I don't hit my buttons and all is perfect 4) infinite scroll - for work such as audio/video editing, scrolling huge files, it's a must, also variable tension on Basilisk is cool but not as useful 5) if you're RGB sucker, Basilisk is the way

I'm on a dilemma. I have Basilisk V2, but need a new one for my Laptop, on which i play Kovaaks(Aim Trainer). I have hard time choosing between this one and DeathAdder V2 PRO.Razer said this is a new sensor. Obviously it has 6k more DPI, but no one cares about this one. Is the sensor improved, in terms of preciouses, tracking, smoothness and so on, or is the same sensor as DeathAdder and Basilisk V2, with just added a bit more DPI ???

I think a bigger deal than the sensor, which would not be enough to notice, is the weight. Almost 20 gram between those two mouse. The trend in FPS is to go lighter. I have the Death Adder V2 and have loved it for many years. Recently switch to basilisk and too early for me to tell. I would say in RTS it’s for sure better. I enjoy the extra button which gives me a lot more flexibility. Ergo on the basilisk feels great too.

I currently have a Logitech G502 Here SE and I feel I should mention something about the scrool wheel that I quite like. Right behind the scroll wheel is a switch that allows the scroll wheel to go from a tactile click to a smooth free spinning. It's fantastic when you're doing allot of scrolling and don't want to hear or feel the constant clicking. I like Razer products, but this alone is a reason I might have to go with the G502 Lightspeed over the Bassilisk Ultimate (I know those aren't the exact mice he's talking about, but they're similar enough.

@@rhyschapman735 Not the way the G502 does. The Basilisk Ultimate has a resistance wheel on the bottom that makes it so there is no click or tactile feeling, but it does not have the functionality of the G502 infinity scroll.

@@TheSkyFeds Yes it does... The button on the bottom is to change resistance of tactile clicks, but it can also go free mode. It can even switch without pressing the button if you just scroll faster. You scroll slow, you're in tactile, then you need to scroll more, just scroll faster, mouse switches to free mode and goes like infinity.

Big mistake. Logitech has gone downhill from where they used to be, G502 is built cheaply... Razer products today are far better quality. I was Logitech user when their products were the best, they're far from it now. Basilisk V3 does everything better while being better built.

The funny thing is that while the Razer Basilisk V3 beats the g502 in many categories, the g502 still wins for many! After my razer basiliks v3 26 000 dpi died and broke on its own with color change when picked up disconnecting and reconnecting and again disconnecting for no reason no connectivity after the pc boots up razer app problems etc i gave up and ordered g502 hero i cant wait to trow into the trash can the garbage called basiliks v3
