I used the g305 for around 3 years now; tried higher end mice like the g903, corsair m65, g502, deathadder, but nothing ever felt right. Kept coming back over and over to the g305. When swapping to the Orochi, I did find the lack of contact with my palm distracting at first, but after only 2 days of usage I can say I have no regrets. I use a weird hybrid of claw and fingertip when gaming, and more of a relax palm grim when browsing. Overall, clean aesthetics, satisfying clicks, and great sensor. Finally a worthy successor. Logitech need to get their head in the game, because after several disappointments with razer I had lost faith in the brand. The last year and a half or so, they have made a huge turn around and released great products like the blackshark, the viper, the huntsman, and now the orochi. Seems like listening to your customer's feedback yields results. Who could have guess it...

about the "60g without a battery", this is not the first time that Razer pulls a thing like this. In France, on most retailers websites, the "ultralight" classifications in achieved when the mouse is below 85g (which is rather high for a "light" mouse but whatever). And the other Razer AA battery mouse, the Razer Basilisk Hyper Speed is like below that threshold of 85g, at 83g and therefore is classified as a "ultralight" mouse while with a standard AA battery inside, the mouse is like 115g or heavier, far from a light mouse imho. That 85g threshold seems to be a thing for light mice and is apparently widely used by e-tailers. I talked about that with a community manager on Twitter, and now it is explicitly said "weight without the battery" in caps next to the weight in the spec sheet, but this is very shady marketing if you ask me

I'm considering this mouse. The big selling points for me are the size, it's compact and good for taking along with my gaming laptop. And it's got Bluetooth. That way I can leave my 2.4ghz dongle plugged in on my gaming laptop, but then swap over to my work laptop without worrying about the dongle. Plus Bluetooth is more power efficient so I won't be eating up batteries while working. So really it's a mash of features that make this the front runner, portability, and versatility. Being able to take both AA and AAA is also a big bonus! I know you can get an adapter and run a AAA in the AA slot, but for me the weight is already pretty light, so I'll take the negligible extra weight for the extended battery life. But hey, if Alli can find are AAA this will have a slot for it. And yeah, ultimately I'm getting this to game on the go with. Having great clickers that won't die on me, and having great performance and durability are important. If I were buying a mouse for my desktop at home I probably wouldn't even look at this. There are better mice for a dedicated desktop. Even if I'm plugging in my laptop at home, I would probably look for a larger mouse that's got better ergonomics, and more features. I actually really liked the Basilisk v3, the scroll wheel with the three settings is right up my alley. And the larger, more ergonomic size would suit me better I think. But on the go? Stashing in a bag? Ehh, not so much. So yeah, I think the Orochi fits a very particular use case. I think it's the best for the portable gamer. And one who needs to work on the side. That so happens to suit my current needs well.

In Europe the Orochi costs double the g305's price. For some reason we always get super inflated prices on razer products, a viper ultimate with dock is 170€ (roughly 200 USD). Logitech usually stays pretty fairly priced. They don't do the usual dollar per euro conversion that we usually get. Just bought the g305.
@dainiusvysniauskas20493 жыл бұрын
Depends on the retailer I guess? I saw G305s as cheap as 40€, but I saw Orochi V2 for 69€ too.

Just bought this mouse coming from endgame xm1r / Hati S Wired and Wireless ACE editions / GPro Superlight / the new Pulsar Xlite v2 & v2 mini . I also have every new Zowie C series ZA11 12 13 S1 & 2 EC 1 2 3 (waiting to buy the FK series). Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless and Viper mini wired. I play Apex Warzone CS Battlefield. I would say I tend to switch mice depending on game. But this mouse guys, is just insane! Ive never ever experienced such an amazing first hand feel. I use a mix of fingertip / relaxed claw. I picked it up for 44 euroes on amazon! the 2.4g wireless latency feels as fast as the GPro Superlight! I cannot notice any difference, as of the G-wolves and pulsars its way more laggy feel. And the shape is legendary! clicks are amazing! only issue I have is the weight, as the AAA in the back messes up the weight distribution too much to make it worth the 7g difference. Using the AA and wish it was 10-15g lighter. The LOD is also a bit too heigh on lowest settings . Other than that its perfect for fingertip!
@M1strzu21153 жыл бұрын
In Synapse you can change LOD from default 2mm to 1mm :)

I have the orochi v2 and jam an aaa battery in the aa battery slot using tinfoil. This centers the weight and Keeps the weight down
@CommanderTycho3 жыл бұрын
Just get the lightest AAA battery you can find and put it into a AAA to AA battery adapter case and then you can have optimal weight distribution without the weight gain.

I wish someone mentioned that if you have a wireless internet connection working at 2.4ghz this mouse is completely going to kill it if you use rf dongle connection of the mouse. And even if you go for bluetooth, if there is some heavy-ish download/upload going on over wifi mouse is also going to be almost unuseable
@jujuu13392 жыл бұрын
I got 2.4ghz and 5ghz router next to me, no problems even compared to my wired viper mini. I believe the dongle operates at a frequency higher than 5ghz.

@@jujuu1339 Yeah same, no issues. I also have 2 other wireless mice nearby on 2.4GHz as well.

when he said that it had the same lift off distance as the viper mini I cancelled my order before it even came, thank you Ali

You didnt try aaa lithium in the aa slot with adapter. That would've been the first thing I thought of lol.
@mikusheep3 жыл бұрын
There's both a AAA and AA slot in the mouse so you don't need an adapter
@MrDutch1e3 жыл бұрын
You misunderstand what I'm saying. He says he prefers the AA solely due to weight distribution. Using a AAA in the AA slot gives the weight distribution he wants but also makes it lighter.

Companies like razer and logitech should sell mouse shells so you can try sizes at home

Hmm for $20-$30USD more.....so about $45-$50 more here in Australia 🇦🇺 I don’t think it’s exactly a budget mouse to compete in the same pricing category, but in terms of pricing, other mice compete with the Orochi V2. I have used Razer mice and liked them but price alone isn’t the best way to compare these 2 imo.👍🤯

Great review! I think the price difference to the G305 can matter a lot to this segment.

Literally min away from pressing on Buy Now button when I found out the battery weight wasn't included in the advertised weight of the mouse....I'm currently using Final Mouse Ultra Light 2, so yeah 10 extra grams matter way too much.

I like that you show the click latency test. Will you ever be doing them on the vaxee mice or are those just so far down the list they are not shown?
@laureanoalfaro93513 жыл бұрын
Good video man, but a 20 to 30 dollars difference is quite a substancial number when both are low budget oriented items. The razer at 50 dollars would implied a more or less 28% discount in its price and at 40 dollars it would need a more or less 43% cut in price in order to be on pair with the Logitech one. I know that you have said that it's worthy that extra cost, because of its features; but it's not a little difference regarding mere price. We are not talking about a price difference between a 1200 dollars GPU and a 1170 one, its quite a different scenario

Already bought the mouse based off of your review. I have no regrets! Thanks! Btw is there any chance you're going to take a look at the new Cooler Master mm731? Honestly your reviews are what most of us trust when it comes to motion delay and latency testing. Excited to see more videos!

get the AAA lithium battery and put it in AA cell battery converter case, that way you get it lighter and non-back heavy

I agree with you on the listed weight. They should have at least listed it at 65 grams, that way it would be correct in one of the configurations.
