I show how I use a point & shoot camera to get good quality pictures of a straight razor. I used a white piece of cloth over the window to diffuse the light. I used a piece of poster board for the background. One side of the poster board was white, the other side was black.

Thanks for the info. It makes perfect sense to me, to use a screw. I'll give it a shot. Thanks again. Q

Thank you, I have worked at making better videos. It has been a slow process. I look back at some of my earlier videos and cringe a little. Thank you, for noticing the progress.

lightroom can be found free and a ok system camera can be found for around 150 bucks. but yeah if you dont have the time/money to play with advanced programs the technique you show is perfect. and Lewis i love your Razor making videos. cheers.

Lightroom and Photoshop and high end cameras that shoot in RAW are great toools. But, the point of the video was to use an inexpensive point and shoot and bracket to get good exposure, and end up with a decent picture.

If you're going to use a tripod, you can probably use ISO of 100 or even 80 (lower ISO is better). ISO basically means the camera's sensitivity to light, higher ISO means a brighter picture, but at the cost of "noise" aka "grainy and poor" photos. So you want to use a low ISO to avoid grainy photos. "But, the photo will be dark :( ." NOT SO! You have a tripod, so you just have to use a longer shutter time (aka, move Exposure to the right). I guess try it and see...Anyway, thanks for your vids!
