Bought mine right away. I have had zero issues and run the hell out of it. I do not do thirty foot high jumps, but handles my local dirt bike track very well. Complaints, need to redesign the battery tray as they will restrict your choices. Better than an xmaxx? No, xmaxx has a generation of revisions. The vigilante is a v1. However none of the propitiatory BS from Redcat and made by a company that actually supports the community instead of sueing them.

Its a awesome truck me and a friend both bought one add lock tight to all screws that go into aluminum including motor face mount then take skid plates off and make a gasket to keep dirt out of the diffs i did that to ours his has been flawless and he drives like he stole it mine had chipped diff gears from dirt and rocks that got in before i made gaskets so i put vitivon diffs and vitivon motor mount added a 23 tooth pinion its been awesome i have broken nothing since and i race bash it at least twice a week front flips back flips huge jumps etc its not a shelf queen its a great deal i have a xmaxx also and had to replace gears on it also and other upgrades to make it bash worthy they are both fun trucks i like the looks of the xmaxx better thanks for the vids looking forward to seeing more of the vigilante

@@RcPlayer-tt2vw they both are nice as far as the way the drive the vigilante does nice front flips and jumps nice it's hard to say that one is better then the other they handle differently but both are fun I would say for the price the vigilante is the better value it has better electronics for sure including better servo they both have monkey metal diffs and could use upgrading I would purchase the vigilante over a xmaxx then upgrade when needed and still never spend as much as a stock xmaxx and have a way better truck xmaxx is way overpriced for what you get they had the worst tires ever made for years finally put a better tire on and raised the price $100 I would never buy a new xmaxx only a used one for half the price I paid $500 for mine and only$400 for my xrt and $400 for my outcast I paid $775 for my vigilante and have $200 in upgrades no buyers remorse here

@@RazorRC ThunderRC guy does launch it 30ft high and truck has mostly survived his style, lol, a couple of channels had issues with some of the gears, probably what happened to yours, its a great truck, just needs some improvements i guess.

Once you put Vitavon gears in there it's a tank. It handles better than my Xmaxx and after a little tuning it jumps and lands better than my Xmaxx. I like my big Arrma trucks more but it's close and for the price it currently is the Vigilante is amazing. $670 for a 1/5 monster truck with Hobbywing electronics?

@@django2467 the truck is a beast I bash it just as hard as my xmaxx my xrt and my outcast and it takes it they all have strength and weakness and they all break sooner or later unless you land on the wheels every time 😁but from my experience It's awesome no buyers remorse here

rear diff ring gear would be my guess, RC Guy Garage had that happen to him on some mundane jumps. I really want one still but, having to spend another $110 to upgrade to the vitavon gears right off the bat doesn't seem right to me.

I feel like me and razor would constantly blow diffs even with vitavon because unlike traxxas this gets all the power to the ground . It’s like a wide maxx and one darn thing I never had problems with traxxas diffs even though not good metal

Finally!!! I can definitely say I think my Vigilante is better than my Xmaxx. It jumps and handles like if Arrma made a big plastic basher. Only weak link I know of on the Vigilante is the gears and Vitavon has upgrades already.

Don’t think they will get swaybars unless something changed the current 3s and 4s arrmas don’t have provisions for them AFAIK. V2 4s cars had them though.

It's about the same width as a xrt and a touch longer than a Xmaxx. It's a big truck. $110 worth of Vitavon gears and it's a tank. I much prefer mine to my Xmaxx. It drives like a big plastic Arrma. Not a big clumsy, rubber made truck.

You need to go over every screw just trying to save you a headache learn from everyone else's mistakes so you can learn from mine ... if you want to do wheelies you're going to have to put 500k in the center diff and the rear diff didn't have to mess with the front at all now it's a wheelie machine I wish I had a wheelie bar

It's obvious you have already made up your mind about my channel, so it's ironic you are actually the one with the bias. I made several videos pointing out flaws of Arrmas before I worked with them (same with all companies) and they still reached out to me. They actually appreciate the honest feedback on how to make their cars better. Nearly every flaw I point out they fix in later versions.

Ive got the redcat 4s Machete when it went on sale. Had pinion issue first run, fixed then another issue I havent taken the time to investigate yet. I think 1/6 -1/5 is just too big.

I prefer 1/5 scale. I love the way the handle stuff. They don't buck and bounce over rough stuff the way smaller scale does. They are incredibly durable for the size. I break my 1/8 scale bashers as much as I do my 1/5.

That's one of those myths people who don't know any better keep repeating to each other. I'm driving on dirt with basically open diffs, there is plenty of give in the drivetrain. I'm driving the same as every off-road car I have.

As long as your diffs aren't locked with earplugs driving on asphalt, you can (and actually should) land with some throttle. I'll make a video someday explaining why.

I hate to judge a book by its cover, but it just looks cheap. Maybe it’s the way it’s laid out when you see everything with the body off. It may be cheaper, but honestly, it doesn’t look like it could handle a bashing that an XMaxx or kraton 8s could handle. It still looks cool though.
