The place opposite Millennium dome was a construction empty waste land, when they made this scene. Now the same place in Canery wharf has posh residential buildings and riverbank overseeing millennium dome. It's all changed.

Phil was originally the calmer of the 2 but after grant left he became far darker and far more psychotic, even worse then grant.

True. I reckon it was mild brain damage after the car crash into the Thames that played a big part, like Nick Tilsley in Corrie after the lorry crash in 2013, just Nick is not as bad as Phil.

the roles have been reversed grants the calm one phils the psycho. understandable for grant hes been away from it all different country different and calmer culture away from the east end it been no need for him to be a hard man rasing his daughter played a part too becoming a successful businessman where he lives. phil on the other hand has had it hard and been dealing with nasty psychos like dan sullivan steve owen den and dennis watts andy hunter johnny alan and many more having to prove hes top dog everyday and dealing with alcoholism jamies death really hit him hard his son being abused his son killing heather his own mother killing herself with him in the next room living with the guilt what if he walked in and said goodnight or checked up on her he could of stopped her phils had a hard life and it shows.

I agree Phil is more calm when grant is around but now he’s just ruthless, I think grant should return as Phil is like in his 60s now

Fantastic scenes, like a huge movie thriller. Hope to see more like this. Very interesting that Phil found out about Grant and Kathy sleeping together two weeks after it happened. It's just like five years earlier when Grant discovered Phil and Sharon's affair two weeks after their passionate moment together.

Ross Kempt left because of Tiffany being killed off. He felt that Grant would not have realistically been able to stay in the Square after that, since he was in many ways responsible and the grief Grant felt from her loss was severe. If Martine had stayed with the show, Ross would have too.

The showrunners at the time were brutal in the way they treated her. Martine found out about tiff being killed off listening to the radio on her way to the set. in an interview a few years back martine said that all she had asked for was a few months off, instead they killed her character off entirely

It's interesting that after Sharongate, the writers never allowed Grant to hit Phil never again. He grappled with Phil by the Thames but didn't hit him, I think they had a confrontation in Paris, when a drunk Phil tried to hit Grant, and Grant easily dodged it. If the Tiffany hadn't been killed off (Martine McCutcheon only wanted a break, she didn't want to leave the show for good), I wonder how much longer Ross Kemp would have stuck around.

Back when Eastenders was worth watching, the Mitchell boys was a casting genius and they bought great entertainment to the show, Ross Kemp needs to come back for one final story line, there getting old now but there's no quit in those two, haven't watched Eastenders since Peggy died, it's become boring, the 90's was the best era most definitely
