What a strange looking vehicle the RB44 is.

and.......where is the rest of the film? The RB44 is a bit of a mish mash, part American, part British and only 846 were ever made of which 170 were buried in Iraq after being set on fire to destroy them rather than just bring them back (Much cheaper to do this than return them) in the 90's. An RB 44 is just a dodge 50 4x4 pretty much with crappier brakes, for example the rear brakes were from the 3.5 ton dodge 50, the front were from the 7.5 ton dodge 50, the chassis had a few extra bits and the rest was just dodge 50 (Renault Trucks UK Made them) and the 4x4 system was suppled by Boughton who actually had the contract with the UK MOD but they never built them, Renault did. The MOD hated them, many were never used, many were bought privatly with less than 10k on the clock on vehicles over 7 years old.... read into that what you will BUT the RB44 was total crap when compared to the Dodge 50 S75 4x4 which was much superior.

Thanks for your comment with impressively detailed content. The RB44 doesn't meet my requirements for an overland vehicle. Having travelled over 4,000 miles with one up into the Arctic Circle I can confirm they are a bit like marmite, people seem to love them or hate them. I'm sorry, filming an overland adventure in freezing temperatures proved problematic. ;-(

Could do with slowing down a bit, not the RB though!

I agree Robin you could do with slowing down a bit, I think you have left it a bit late!
