I do not get tired of this special private and personal concert with all the stories. Are we friends now? I feel like we are! Just my favorite concert by far.

Everything he sings is awesome. He's like Lynyrd Skynyrd there's not one bad song on any album unbelievable he will definitely be a national treasure I just recently discovered him I'm glad I did

53 years old. I feel lucky that I knew a time wherein this amazing free concert from perhaps the best thing happening in music was simply not possible. And he's made dozens. Not a bad song in his repertoire

I found Cody Jinks 2 weeks ago by accident lmbooooooo, the talent and just pure skill is unbelievable! I'm so glad he switched over from metal to save country music lol, at least that's how I see it because I quit listening to this bubblegum pop country music years ago when they started wrapping about tractors and drinking. I just wish there was more and more like him and I've noticed after following this man that the people he rubs elbows with are real country musicians also and very talented I'll be 56 next month and the way that he is putting out music I'll be able to listen to real country for the rest of my life thank you all who feel the same as I do. Thank you Cody for saving a lost art, and thank you Mr. Badour for putting this on your KZbin channel and allowing me to find it it has really made my day week month and last few years that I have lost out LOL

It’s funny I get made fun of for being such a jinks fan boy, just another country song to some people. They don’t seem to understand that the songs are about me too. I think that’s key in Codys songs, they aren’t just about him in a way, there’s all kinds of black sheep just like him that just can’t express themselves in such an artistic and articulate manner. The lyrics don’t try to deny the reality of our broken world and the seriousness of the situation for mankind, they address reality but still leave you with a sense of courage, hope and certainty.

I came here to basically say the same thing, but I think your reply perfectly summarized all of us black sheep, outcasts & rebels. Real life people who’s world isn’t always sunshine & rainbows, but we battle through the dark times for those precious moments in the sun.

@bencarpenter39334 жыл бұрын
I’m reminded of a song called false prophets by rapper Jcole where he says “do I do it for love of music, or is there more to me, do I want these niggas to worship me.” I wonder if this is something jinks ever struggles with in his mind. & it’s interesting to consider Bc music is so connected to worship, it’s like the ultimate form of expression, & the devil seems to own the Big music business. That’s why I love how down to earth his music is, it’s helped remind me who I am when I’m broken.

I feel it with everything in me that he does his best performances alone! Just a man his guitar and a stool is the only true way for an ARTIST to showcase his masterpieces. I love acoustic especially his!

Brother, I have a very similar story to yours. I was a huge death metal fan but I grew up on country music from my parents. I live in Kentucky so it's always been everywhere but I was always embarrassed to admit that I liked it for fear of being considered "uncool". I found Sturgill Simpson, then Tyler Childers and they both led me here to Cody. Now, Bluegrass (I fucking love the sound of a banjo in combination with a fiddle) and REAL country (ie. Simpson, Childers, Jinks etc) is pretty much all I listen to.

Why not just do this all the time. Feels more personal anyway, you could still tour just not as much, it would be easier on your conscience as you wouldn’t feel so guilty about being away from your family. You’d be able to write more, put it on an album & well buy it & tune in to watch live, there’s enough Jesus freaks like me to support it. Just a thought. We’re at war spiritually, the Lord needs his soldiers strong & I know more regular support from your wife would do that the way you sing about her. Not trying to push some country music messiah kind of thing on you but you never know how God could use your words, imperfect as they may be, to feed his sheep, I know they’ve meant more to me than I can say
