Easily my favorite part of this fantastic video is the shots of people crossing the finish line with huge grins. I've never ridden the Granfondo before, but I know the sense of pride and accomplishment those folks had, and look forward to taking part so I can share that experience with so many others.

The alarm sounding took me back to my first Whistler RBC GranFondo. The adrenaline rushed as I journeyed to the start line. Each stoplight towards Stanley Park built the excitement and nerves. January 2018 I signed up for my life changing ride solo. The morning of the Fondo I had a team and support all the way to the finish. I am beyond excited for reunions at RBC Fondo Whistler 2019.

Great video and very inspiring! I've ridden most every year, but the last time I rode was my most memorable. I just got back from a week in the Alps so I was in my best shape in years. My Dad passed away just two weeks before the GranFondo and I really didn't feel up to riding, despite my conditioning. I remember how my Dad used to love asking about my riding and I felt I couldn't disappoint him. I rode hard, got in the right group, fought through tears at times, and finished with a PR and a Top-10 for my age group, and rode back to Vancouver in time for dinner. I know my Dad would have been proud. My goal this year is to break 3:30 and would love another an entry to this great event. I was a founding rider and the 10-year anniversary seems fitting for another PR.

My favourite bit of the video is seeing the smiles captured on every riders face as they rode along together with the amazing scenic shots and as they come into the rest stop the welcoming smiles from the volunteers. And the cheers from the spectators at the finish. It truly captures the epic ride and the joy everyone gets to experience in a top class event like the RBC Fondo. I have this ride as my number one on the bucket list.

The 2018 Whistler Fondo was a first for me but I’m now hooked for life. I was blown away by the support from organizers/volunteers and road side cheerleaders. It’s them that keep you going when the suffer gets real... and it definitely does.

The sound of your morning alarm. Clicking pedals. Fresh mountain air. Crispy Autumn leaves. Awesome friends. And a ride up to Whistler in the Sea to Sky highway. What more can you ask for? The experience is one of a kind. One has to try it to believe it..Thank you RBC GranFondo 🚵🏻‍♂️

Fantastic video, really captures the day and floods the senses with memories of an amazing experience. My favourite part is the shot of the line up in the early morning half light, brings back the nerves and anticipation and frankly the fear of what lay ahead. I signed up for the 2018 RBC Whistler GranFondo as a charity challenge with only three weeks to prepare and having never done a cycling event in my life. Dusted off the bike from April and bought my first pair of clipless pedals. Having looked at the course profile I thought my mouth had written a cheque my body would not be able to cash, I was destined for pain and the humiliation of not being able to finish. My heart was racing at the start line, surrounded by so many riders all decked out like professional athletes, here I was - a fraud, hoping not to get found out or worse cause an accident with my inexperience. The fear melted away as I crossed the Lions Gate Bridge and conquered Taylor Way. All of a sudden I was a cyclist holding my own, tearing down the hills, ignoring the rain and somehow ticking off hills that seemed impossible on paper. Rest stops brought conversations with new friends, chance encounters with old friends and constant encouragement and a sense of camaraderie that made me feel welcome and not an outsider after all. The sense of joy and overwhelming emotion as I crossed the finish line surrounded by sunshine was in stark contrast to the foreboding that the start line had held. It was a beautiful ride, an unforgettable experience and a new challenge to throw down to myself to do better next year. You survived this year and made it, now how much faster can you do it? If anyone is thinking about taking part but is worried they are not ready, just do it. It is an amazing event to be part of and you will be surprised at what you can do with the promise of a cold beer at the end.

As a first time GF rider, I can't say how inspiring and exciting this video is! The Whistler Gran Fondo has been a bucket list item for me for several years, and I have finally been able to register for 2019. The video was very well produced - the shots of Stanley Park, West Van/Horseshoe Bay, Sea to Sky and finally ending in Whistler to see the support of hundreds of spectators. It really shows how friendly and supportive everyone is - and how much fun this ride will be...I honestly got goosebumps when I saw the rider break the finish line, and I cant wait to experience this next year!!

Truly an Epic tale of camaraderie and serene fawna, which beautiful British Columbia has to offer. The best part is the 10 seconds before the finish line is crossed capturing all the emotional culmination of the most amazing journey that was first undertaken at 6am with a single pedal stroke forward. I also enjoyed the first crossing of the lions gate bridge, truly magnificent display of the sports ability to make a tribe, from professional rider to weekend warrior. Congrats Whistler Gran Fondo on your 10th Anniversary video and being able to truly capture the essence of what we all search for in cycling and in life .. the Ultimate Ride!

I did the Banff Gran Fondo 3 years in a row and now that it's gone, my husband and I are going to do Whistler. I am a bit of a bigger girl, but train hard every year and while I will never finish first and try my hardest not to finish last, the great sense of accomplishment, is that I finish. The scenery is incredible and the commroderair is second to none. I love the cycling community. Here's to 2019 and another successful finish!

My favourite part is the smile at the finish of the riders! The support groups, logistics(no traffic issues) and volunteers make this one of my must do rides. It's not an easy ride I realize and I've dropped 31 pounds since October(a medical event "inspired" me)and can hardly wait for training weather. The videos from riders show how much actual fun the ride should be!

This will be our (my spouse and I) first Fondo - My most favourite part of this video is right at the start with the alarm going off. It signifies the start to everything else... the ride, the experience, new friends, old friends, the personal challenge, the "suffering", the closed road for the wonderful cycling, the smiles and hard work of the dedicated volunteers and event organizers, then at the finish line with the sense of accomplishment, celebration, inspiring stories from others and a memory of a lifetime. And the most important part of it all, a chance to experience my first Fondo together with my spouse.

My favourite bit is the first scene of the video. When the phone alarm ring is the sign for a unique celebration in my life. That shoot caught my attention up and inspired me for my new challenges in 2019. My bike is my partner in crime to experienced new adventures on two wheels. Nature, life, freedom, friends, and a top-notch supporting are the best ingredients along with the stunning Sea-to-Sky corridor. September 7th is just around the corner. I have participated in the event 6 times and it is a thrill each time. Since I am a closet masochist, my favourite part of the video is the KOM (at about the 2:10 mark, I believe). Everyone bunches up during the climb and we all suffer in unison. I’m not into schadenfreude, but if I was this would be the perfect opportunity. Of course the KOM is not the only great part of the event. The spectacular scenery and the camaraderie of the participants are unparalleled. I have made many friends during this event over the years and I look forward to meeting many more. Finally, I would like to give kudos to the many volunteers who help to make this event one of the best in the world.

This is THE bucket list ride for sure! It will be challenging. You’re going to have to dig deep. It may even hurt. But the reward is AWESOME! Just breathe and look around you. The view is spectacular. Second to none. Thousands of riders around you. Closed off roads. Support staff there for you every pedal stroke along the way. Cheerleaders and well wishers encouraging you in. You can just imagine for one second, this must be what it feels like in the Tour de France. What an amazing day! What an amazing event! This video truly captures the amazing experience that the Whistler GranFondo provides! The ride blew me away, the sights I saw were breathtaking and the people I met were incredible. After making the journey I know there is no better way to experience the road to Whistler than by bike with thousands of other like minded individuals taking this outstanding journey. My favourite experience was the ability to share this adventure with my dad as I don't get to see him nearly as much anymore since I moved to the coast. We rode the entire way together helping each other with each obstacle, and what a great feeling being able to finish such a journey with your father! We have already committed each other to sharing the same experience again next year, and to anyone who has never embarked on this crusade this is an unparalleled experience!

I signed up for the RBC Gran Fondo 2019 for the very first time along with three of my friends. It is a great challenge to the mind and requires great discipline to say yes to keep pedalling when mind begs to say no. This video is beautifully filmed and edited with the cut on action in the beginning when the cyclist is getting ready to the cinematic panning of beautiful BC allow me to follow his journey easily. Before the start of the event, I can see everyone gathering around, with nerves and smiles which I can relate to. Seeing the volunteers at the water station being so encouraging and supportive makes me very appreciative of how thoroughly thought out the event is, after positive iterations each year. I can’t wait to start training for the RBC Gran Fondo next year and push what I thought my limits were!

Like a lot of other folks, my favourite bit is near the beginning. I love the-early-morning-clipping-in-to-the-pedals-outside-the-St.-Regis and heading to the start. It does a great job of conveying the 'crack of dawn feeling' of heading out to an event or a big group ride. Unfortunately, Bejan didn't have quite enough time to savor that morning coffee first. In all honesty, that bit (and the whole dang video) makes me feel all gooey, nostalgic and a bit homesick. I grew up out West (now living in Toronto) and spent many, many days with my family up at Whistler so the Highway 99 route is something I remember very fondly. The Whistler Gran Fondo is sitting on the top of my bucket list and I eagerly look forward to coming home one day and doing it. I rode my first Century last summer (in over 25 years) so one day it'll be a reality! If it isn't 2019 for me, happy riding to all the rest of you lucky folks! :)

How do we choose just one moment of this video to love? I love it all. From the beginning which shows the excitement and anticipation of the amazing ride to come with groups laughing together, to the incredible scenery we witness along the way. I would like to acknowledge the people that took their time and effort in creating this event video showcasing from start to finish of what the Whistler GranFondo is like. This video is very inspiring to me as it opens my heart and mind to train, compete hard, push my limits and getting to a higher level than before. September 7th, 2019 would be my first time doing the RBC GranFondo Whistler. Until that date, I’ll be watching this video every day to remind myself of what I’ll be facing. I signed up because I love the sport in road cycling. I want to prove people that doubt me wrong and that I can do this. I love speeding down the hills, the winds blasting my face, the competitiveness feeling every cyclist brings, the pain and suffering from going up hills and long rides, and finally the achievement of completing something you never thought to have accomplished. That’s why I cycle. There are many parts of the event video that I favor. The creativity in details like the cyclist getting up in the morning, to the beginning of the ride, to the sights, sounds, and feelings during the ride, to the end where the cyclist accomplishes the GranFondo. I thought the entire video was well organized, it was clear and visualized to percept what a cyclist would go through. I honestly can’t wait for September 7th, 2019. Thanks again for creating this inspirational video. See everyone there! 😊

My favourite part of the whole ride is the dip under the pedestrian overpass and the slight uphill sweeping left turn slingshotting you into hammering the final sprint for the finish line. I loved it all but especially the combination helicopter/road shots: the sweeping views with the amazing scenery zooming into the ride from a bird's eye view and then to the riders themselves and the grit of the road. Magnificent. Especially as I missed this ride. After five Whistler Fondos in a row, and with the most riding/training/climbing preparation in six years under my belt so that I could go for a personal best and meet the goal I set as one of my 2018 New Year's resolutions, I got the flu three days before the ride and was in terrible condition. With a week long, group trip set up and paid for starting the day after the Fondo I pulled out of the ride, pretty discouraged, and gave my registration to a friend. Your video gave me the chance to live the ride and all it means to be on the road, in that fabulous setting up the Sea-to-Sky, with all the cameraderie in contains. Thanks. I'll be back in 2019.

the word 'epic' always comes to mind when I think of this journey; I signed up for the first time and surely like other riders who do it for the first of nth time, there is a mix of emotions; from the inspirational ethos of doing something so grand to the challenge that awaits from training to race day...the combination of athletic performance combined with the camaraderie of sharing this experience with thousands of fellow journey-seekers is absolutely unique! I very much appreciate how athletic performance is intertwined with community spirit that exudes all involved from the amazing and dedicated volunteers to the riders who together are all energized by the thrill of an event so spectacular in so many ways; I can hardly wait to be out there and experience the beauty of 'beautiful BC' whilst putting my hard work and training to the test...I commend all who have and will do the GranFondon next year and years to come for accepting the quest that this epic journey symbolizes! This footage reminds me of all the high points, the hotel to start line, the camaraderie at the start line and the terrific scenery along the route. I started riding in 2016 and did my first Whistler GranFondo that year. My goal was to make it under the 6 hour mark. I remember the pain and discouragement from seeing everyone pass me as i struggled along. Nevertheless I pushed on and eventually crossed the finish line at the 8 hour mark. My legs were in great pain but my heart felt joyful and accomplished, "that wasn't that bad... it was actually pretty fun!" So I signed up for the 2017 GranFondo and started training with the goal of crushing my previous time. 2017 GranFondo brought another challenge to overcome, however the rain and cold could not break each and every riders spirits as we encouraged each other as we treked along the sea to sky highway. 2018 GranFondo was the year I achieved my goal of under 6 hours, with a time of 5:39. To me, Granfondo Whistler is a event that I look forward to every single year. The spirit of cycling and the breathtaking views while riding with thousands of people is simply unbeatable. I look forward to riding with my friends along the amazing highway and beating my personal best with each year to come! “To me it doesn’t matter whether it’s raining or the sun is shining or whatever: as long as I’m riding a bike I know I’m the luckiest guy in the world.” - Mark Cavendish.

What a great video! I remember crossing the Lions Gate bridge with the helicopter hovering right there on the left, it was pretty darn neat. That being said it was a long, challenging day, but very proud of myself and everyone else that participated in the gran fondo, it was quite the accomplishment! Already signed up for next year and looking / will be training to beat my 2018 time and get closer to the 4 hour mark.

Really liked the aerial shot of the riders going across the Lions Gate bridge. Very inspiring to see a cluster of riders heading towards one common goal. Can't wait for 2019 as I finally stopped procrastinating and signed up for this amazing race. :)

Awesome video, the first few scenes truly captures my favorite feelings about the GranFondo. The nervous anticipation of the day, riding down at sunrise through the most beautiful city in the world, seeing more and more people of all backgrounds and abilities and arriving at the start realizing there are thousands of others experiencing the exact same nervousness and excitement for the most epic day of the year.

I can't pick a favourite part because it's the entire ride that is my favourite part - it is challenging and an amazing experience. I have entered and completed the RBC GranFondo Whistler every year except for 2013 (injury) and 2018.

Wow! Your video made me cry! I am so excited to be doing this race with my girlfriends. There are six of us registered and five of us are grandmothers! While most cyclists train all year round, I am starting to train on New Year’s day...and buying a new bike in the spring, and dreaming of the race! I will probably watch the video a couple of times weekly for inspiration, and more when things don’t go well! So looking forward to Sept. 7, this will be the highlight of my year! Thank you for the inspiration!

I love the Whistler Granfondo, done it 6 times now (2 Forte). Each time feels like the first time, comes off my bucket list each year and goes back on again aiming to beat previous time. My favourate part is obviously the last home straight- family, friends waiting and expecting as l bolt out of the last corner for one last push towards the finish line already thinking about next year's ride.

This video is great and is inspiring me for next year's season! My favourite part was the story the video told - it truly captured the beautiful landscape and terrain of the ride. From the early morning jitters to the beaming smiles at the finish line, this video illustrated a journey only few take! Not to mention the aerial shots were stellar!! Props on another amazing year!

What an amazing video! I am SO excited (and nervous!) to be signed up for this ride for 2019! I did the Medio distance in 2018 with my son and it was a wonderful experience. This year, it's time to up my game.

A very beautiful video, music is what attracted me, the images from getting up, getting ready and gone to the start line. The RBC Granfondo Whistler, has been a unique event that has inspired me to keep a healthy active life. This event has been organized so well and every year the Granfondo gives its best to riders, volunteers and fans that support riders along the route. I have been involved since the beginning, in 2010 volunteering with my family. From 2011 to Date, I am the rider and my family volunteer in Whistler, some coming from Alberta to help out this fantastic group of Organizers, including the volunteer coordinator. What is a typical day for me at the Granfondo ? Well, I usually sleep around 11pm, waking up at 6:10am, dress up, warm up before riding to Stanley Park which is about 4kms away from where I stay. I usually eat a banana and a yogurt, I focus on what I am going to do and how I am going to achieve the goal which is to make it to the finish line. A lot of people recognize me through my videos from 2013-to Date, and they love them. My Mexican jersey is what catches a lot of riders attention, a lot of them pass me by saying "VIVA MEXICO" and that motivates me to try to catch up and have a little race with them. The volunteers are the best we can have for the event. They are part of making Granfondo Whistler a spectacular event in which memories stay in mind. The FINISH line, is the result of good training through the year, indoor cycling (November-March) and during summer with 35 C sometimes in southern Alberta. After crossing the line, there are a lot of supporters that hang around to watch riders cross the line. Knowing that a medal is waiting for me, that is my prize after long days, weeks and moths of training for the Granfondo. The RBC Granfondo Whistler, is in fact, the best in North America and I am happy to be part of this ride, a tradition that spins 122 kms every September. My goal in 2019, is to make the 2020 World Championship. Thank you Granfondo Canada, Organizers, Volunteers and especially all those Fans that support this event and support your favourite Mexican rider. ROGER VIVA MEXICO !!!

I'll never look at the Sea-to-Sky highway the same way again. 122 KM / 122 different emotions! The RBC GranFondo Whistler was my greatest accomplishment of 2018. It was my very first bike race, but definitely not the last! My favourite moment in the video is between 2:35 and 2:40, when we see the finish lane. It reminds me very clearly how proud of myself I was feeling at that moment... crying the last few water drops I had in my body!

Ever since visiting Vancouver from Ireland, this is on my must-ride list. Amazing scenery, beautifully shot. My favourite part of these days is the morning buzz and anticipation before first light (I love the bike by the bed in the St Regis, the concierge must be a cyclist) - best of luck with the event in 2019 !

I love the moment cyclists start entering Whistler Village near the end of the ride. Because this Gran Fondo is point-to-point, it reminds me of my favorite race, the Mt Hamilton Road Race near San Jose, CA, finishing just outside Livermore, CA: Though there weren't quite as many people cheering, turning into Whistler Village brings back memories of passing "the driveway on the right" signaling 200m to go... SPRINT!! What an awesome feeling of accomplishment when that was over!

Well done! The video captures the scenery perfectly - which is the highlight of the ride. You can find roads everywhere but to cycle the Sea to Sky highway on a dedicated lane is priceless. *love the post sound effects in the video too - E.g. drivetrain clicks, filling of the water bottle, helicopter whirring, etc.
