Economics background will not help you even in prilimnary phase of the exam. So there is no advantage of economics atleast in pre and mains phase.

@@neelotpalsrivastav6644 When a person is well versed with one topic of mains ie economics then that person can give importance to other part of the entrance like speed practice for Quant, reasoning, English plus current affairs management finance and descriptive writing coz when they will touch economic they will have a basic understanding and they can pick up the topics easily and create notes faster.

Don't listen to these people and focus on your goal even I'm in 2nd year and I have started my prep already I'm doing quants from the basic level and and for reasoning I have bought a book to solve it and watching Yt videos to understand from basic. Gk will be mostly current affairs and some static so I'll start it before 6-7 month of exam date and english I bought a book called word power to learn new words. Enjoy college life but focus on career as well, only 2 3 hours of prep a day from start won't affect your college enjoyment. Hope I helped.
