Hopefully a 611/2102 doubleheader excursion in the future could be an awesome site to see one day.

Was filming at the shops something you paid extra for? Or do they allow visitors?
@maxm23172 жыл бұрын
In my experience, they generally allow visitors so long as you stay out of the way.

Just out of curiosity was this locomotive preserved or is it brand new
@09JDCTrainMan2 жыл бұрын
Preserved. It was built in 1925 as a 2-8-0 numbered 2044, then rebuilt into a 4-8-4 in 1945 and renumbered to 2102.
@trentonspence41222 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud I wonder if steam locomotives r still built 2day and if so who builds them
@09JDCTrainMan2 жыл бұрын
@@trentonspence4122 Well, not nearly as much, steam locomotive production on a regular basis ended years ago, but replicas have been built throughout the post steam era. There's a new steam locomotive being built, and instead of being a replica, it's a continuation of an extinct class, the Pennsylvania Railroad class T1 4-4-4-4. The new one's number is 5550 and is being built by the T1 Trust. It's said to be done by 2030.

In the words of Hyce (about driving a steamtrain): "You know you are doing it right, when your reading 6-chime whissle is being overpowered by the sound of the locomotive working!" (or something verry similar)
