In my experience, they generally allow visitors so long as you stay out of the way.

Just out of curiosity was this locomotive preserved or is it brand new

Preserved. It was built in 1925 as a 2-8-0 numbered 2044, then rebuilt into a 4-8-4 in 1945 and renumbered to 2102.

@@trentonspence4122 Well, not nearly as much, steam locomotive production on a regular basis ended years ago, but replicas have been built throughout the post steam era. There's a new steam locomotive being built, and instead of being a replica, it's a continuation of an extinct class, the Pennsylvania Railroad class T1 4-4-4-4. The new one's number is 5550 and is being built by the T1 Trust. It's said to be done by 2030.
