Having same issue crank but no start. Thought it was the fuel pump but when I jumped the fuel pump with a Milwaukee battery 18v the pump runs like a champ and lets the engine start/run. Tested voltage at the connector and I’m getting less then 5v. What is the voltage the pump should be getting? From what I could find it should be around 12v. Btw I’m getting a good ground at the connector.

@@RBTheMechanic update 09/21/2020, i went outside this morning and swapped out the new fuel pump for the old one and the car turned on for about a minute and died off again. i checked the connector for the fuel pump and noticed that the prong which sits inside on the fuel pump + side is melted and underneath the fuel pump where the connector connects it is brown and burnt, could this be the reason? would i have to change out the connector with a pigtail or should i use the one that came w the new fuel pump?

Ok before trying anything else let me tell u this once I changed my pump it didn’t start I was confused but then I check and check I found out that the connector wasn’tconnected all the way and I had another Chrysler 300 few months later same thing I changed the pump and it didn’t start what the issue was the plastic seal inside the connector didn’t let the pins make contact please check ur connector I took out the plastic seal and it connected solid and worked. Let me know if that worked for u

I did it in 20 minutes watch how we do it tap on 2 spots so it turn equally

@@RBTheMechanic You also run the risk of fire. Just get the tool and you can find it on Ebay for cheap. "that's what I ended out doing". It made the job so much easier. I had to change the transfer pump also because that is where the filter is. The clogged filter is what caused the whole problem. It also made a number of relays go bad.
