The trailer is done. Surprisingly simple and went together quick. A few cuts some screws and rivets and there you have it. A Trailer...LOL. Thanks for watching. Any questions or comments please leave them below.

Thanks...I used 8/32 threaded rod and 1/4 brake line. The threaded rod fits perfect inside the brake line. I didn't use any bearings so there is some friction but nothing that will hinder it....The trailer rolls smooth.
@shawnroy8111 жыл бұрын
I used a piece of 8/32 threaded rod inserted into a 1/4 break line. Then the break line is cut to the withe of the trailer. Now I hold the piece of brake line between the two mounting plates that I installed and then the threaded rod is just inserted into the break line. Now on the outside of the mounting brackets you need to instal washers or whatever you have on hand for spacer. The treaded rod is spiining on its self

Good simple design. Using that aluminum, if you don't want rivets showing, you could easily solder in the mesh in spots with a good iron. Nice job overall. Be well and have fun.

Awesome video I gave it a shot today and I was practicing my angles for the corners After doing it today you need to mark out a 45 degree angle for ur cuts or it wont bend correctly I also tried just straight edges example 4 seperate pieces snd riveting it together or screws it works but needs so grinding and filing for my liking Then I went and got steel angle and tried brazing took to much time and way to heavy So im thinking 45 degree cut and bend it and b done with it and then rivet the last corner

I purchased all my materials from Canadian tire. The mesh is used to keep leaves and debris out of your houses rain gutter. Not sure the exact name but it comes in a bundle with 4 sheets of it. If you ask the CDN tire guy should be able to point you in the right directions. The aluminum is (Alum- Angle 1/16" x 3/4"). Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anymore info

Everything works great. No need to reinforce anything. I have a trail video of me pulling it loaded with a rig in some very rough terrain and it survived that. The mesh is from Canadian tire and is used for rain gutters around your house. Keeps leaves out.

I used the same angle for everything. For the hitch peace I only used a rod ball end. The bumper I use is a Rockarmor and the hitch it comes with is a ball. So to hitch everything up I just press the ball end on the ball of the hitch

I used 1/4" brake line and 8/32" threaded rod. The threaded rod spin freely in the brake line. Maybe a bid of grease if you want and then my "L" brackets to attach it all the the Trailer. I thread some Nuts on the threaded rod for spacers and that's pretty much it. It mite take a bit of tweaking with washers to get the spacing just right

All I used was aluminum angle from Canadian tire and some screws. The axles are 8/32 threaded rod and 1/4 brake line. The mesh was a kit from Canadian tire for covering your rain gutters. Nothing specific. You can try other materials.

Hey, if you drill the holes on the axel mounts oval shaped from top to bottom it would give it some travel for the wheels to articulate some when its moving over terrain that's not completely flat, just a thought

What will be strong enough to be a 22 inch long trailer and 12 inch wide for a slash and a tf2 to pull? What will be best angle aluminum, channel, or square tubing? I might haul a heavy metal diecast john deere 544j wheel loader that is almost completely steel? Any ideas which will be strong enough and still easy to build with out welding it.

About 20yrs ago , I had an R/C Jeep n boat trailer with a small R/C speed boat. The towing hitch snapped and I as young kid was upset. My dad made a tow joint using a 1/4" universal socket drive joint. He glued one end of the u/j on to the trailer, then he glued a small 1/4" socket to the broken tow point on the jeep. Next he drilled out the ball lock and using a split pin, locked it in place. I could remove the pin and use the jeep only, worked great for ages.
