Its tough design and rugged frame have been impressing me ever since I have seen them cruising the bashing fields in 2011. I must wait NO LONGER.. and I have unleashed the POWER!
In this film, I test out the 6S Lipo Battery capability and run 24 VOLTS to the HPI / Castle "BLUR" ESC and "TORK" 2200kV Brushless motor. I try this both ON and OFF ROAD to put the Hype to the test.. IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! Everything from INSANE Speed.. Standing Backflips, KILLER SUSPENSION and MONSTER POWER .. what more could I ask for!
I was running a 5450mah Lipo set, and the run time was approximately 45 Minutes before I blew the tire off of the thing! LOL! AWESOME :~) Totally my fault, and irresponsible RC'ing.. but DANG it made GOOD FILM!! Trusting the All Metal Geared Transmission, I was not afraid to go full throttle on the straight away.. but I could only get to 1/2 Trigger! IT WAS SOOO FAST! It also has a Reverse Gear.. for when you get into a bad situation. I like the FWD and RWD combined to give the rig a BEAST QUALITY.

I have to say, I've come back to this video a few times, and very overall impressed. The filming is awesome, and the HPI Savage Flux HP is one of the best remnants of the monster truck world. The ESC in these are fully programmable. When I go out bashing I take my laptop with because with the Castle Link you can program it all the way down to motor timing, punch control, motor power (For. & Rev.), volt cut-off, brake, drag-brake, etc. You have the range to make it get out-run by a new bright or kill a big block nitro.

It's harder to get going and keep going, but that challenge--plus the fact that burning fuel makes it that much more real--is what adds to the fun for me. I cant get over how slow that truck is...... when i saw 6s lipo i was thinkn easily 150mph but then with only a 2200 motor..... i get that its a monstertruck and for the power the wheels are too close together to lay full power down but my truck which has a longer wheel base, running a 3s lipo with a 3500 motor gets over 100mph lifting the front wheels off the ground and it passes real cars like theyre nothing...... with a 6s lipo..... id expect..... DAMMMMNNNNNN

That is very common but you can solve that by doing these following steps. When you buy news rims and tires/foams. The first thing u need to do is get 3m heavy duty adhesive spray glue, alcohol with lint free rag, spray bottle and good quality rim glue. Clean the rims where the foam contact and the tire lip on rims very good with alcohol/rag. Clean the inside of tire and lip of tire too as well, alcohol/rag. Then get a empty spray bottle to put some alcohol in it , spray the foams inside and out let that dry very well (foam must be complete dry or it will not work!). When those step is done. Next is make sure your hands is oiling free/dirt free. Use latex glove if you can. First step is gluing the tire and foam. Spray 3m adhesive evenly inside tire (do not get it on lip of tire that connect to rim!). Then spray evenly coat on outside of foam. Immediately put the foam inside tire and shape it up( I use both 2 fingers and roll inside rim of tire like a "rubber band").If u get 3m adhesive on tire lip get rag and some alcohol and wipe it up neatly. You need the edge for the foam to contact edge before tire lip. Let that dry good. That is important because that will prevent the tire "ballooning" when spinning like that. Next is spray 3m on rim (again do not get it on lip of rim where tire seat in) and spray on inside foam where it seats on rim. Put the tire on rim with tire lip overlap the rim ( do not tuck the lip of tire in to rim yet!) Shape up the tire evenly on rim and let it dry good too. That help from ballooning as well too. When the foam attach to rim is dry then use good quality tire glue to glue the tire to rim ( when u r doing that try not to squeeze the tire while installing / if u did do that it would cup the tire. To fix that put a needle hole into the out side of tire tire release pressure / to relax the tire then put tire glue in that needle hole u just made. These step by step is timing process but it will be a dirt free seal (inside rim/tire) and free from ballooning. Good luck!!

I have a Traxxas Revo 3.3 with a TekNo electric conversion kit in it, so i guess you could call it an E-Revo, but anyway it can do a standing back flip as well. I would defiantly recommend converting a nitro revo over to electric if you haven't already. The car has SOOO much power!

Just purchased a flux.. I've had nitro savages for years with the the 25ss, X and XL and have to say they probably the best trucks out there for bashing but the flux is a whole other ball game... I knew it was powerful but you just don't realise until you try one out :) just trying to get to full speed on a flat field is a challenge as the front wants to lift all the time. 4s lipo is more than adequate for it but as you say in the vid if it can take 6 it's gonna get 6 (too much fun not to ) you just gotta be gentle with the throttle.. After playing with nitro's for many year's have to say brushless/lipo is the way to go...

Is hpi dead? What happened to that company I don't find much for this truck anywhere no truck no parts.... Though hpi was a leading brand like traxxas...
