I Pick on you about the safe mode a lot Nate. But in all honesty If I had a plane I'm be in safe mode 90% of the time myself. for the simple reason it makes it so much easier for someone like my self to get in the air and actually learn to fly. I do think safe mode should be put in more planes not just because its easier but because it would make flying safer for the backyard kid just starting out in a smaller backyard situation. Also I think for the people like me finding a good safe place to mount a tiny FPV cam that could just record to a cell phone would be nice as well. and if used with FPV goggles could give the operator the feeling of actually being in the plane.

Really nice flight Nate. 👍 Nate, did you see if the Preset gave you expo? Though very new to this and just having got my first programmable TX, the NX8, I kind of doubt it. In my research to setup rates and expo for my UMX Turbo Timber, for which I used a preset, I was surprised to find how very different expo and rate settings (and on which switch) are for different pilots and for different planes even for the same pilot. It appears that some really wonderful things can be done with rates and expo settings but you might have the right strategy going for yourself by not using it on any of your models. PS. Agree 100% with you... for $40.00 dollars more get the NX8 over the NX6.

@scottbusby60953 жыл бұрын
Don't let it put you off. If you learn the principles of flying first (how wings work, stalling, adverse yaw etc) then you will have confidence. Maybe get realflight 9.5 simulator too. But take the plunge and get a nice easy trainer and just do it. So much information for free online and KZbin etc. Enjoy
@crashcopter60003 жыл бұрын
Or better yet - start with an inexpensive quadcopter. You'll need to get used to controlling a plane coming at you, and going away from you. That's a tricky part. You can actually fly a quadcopter much like a plane (other than the elevator). Like a plane, throttle controls altitude and use yaw as a rudder. Then, you'll just need to learn to land. SAFE will nearly do that for you. Don't give up!

Nate fun plane, next time try this. Go from a straight pass then pull straight up and when you get pretty high dump both sticks to the top right corner. @markd91303 жыл бұрын
You have to be comfortable with your choices. But, I'd say that this hobby is relatively inexpensive. It's not like you are buying a 4th summer home in France, collecting priceless art, or own 2 private jets. Personally, I wanted to do this decades ago. After a lifetime of doing without...I finally have some extra money. Now, I'm going to enjoy my life and that's ok.
@jeffdillingham29993 жыл бұрын
I tend to buy the "less" expensive planes and equipment, or even build FliteTest planes, but yes it still adds up. I might be interested in this plane but it is north of the mid-point on what I like to spend on a plane, so most of mine cost less than this. Some much less... But, like Mark D mentioned, it can be relatively inexpensive compared to other hobbies/activities. Unless, of course, you're buying or building the "big boy" high end planes and jets.

This is a great discussion I think, and a great talking point in general. I don't know about you guys, but though we are very Blessed, we work very hard for everything we have. Where we live, we qualify for free food and clothes that are offered to us regularly, yet we turn those offers down because we feel that someone else could probably use it more than us. We also donate our time and occasionally a free RC (maybe we got it for free for review) to a good cause. Having said all of this, I think it is okay to reward yourself for the good work you are doing. If it is at a point where you are feeling guilty, maybe it is time to consider selling one or two and using those funds to help impact someone in your neighborhood that is down. God works with us and through us all in very different ways. Maybe He is calling on you to help make a difference! Already, you have affected many in the comments section 😉👍 All of this was typed over the course of like fifteen minutes while my daughter climbed all over me, lol. Hope it makes sense! 😎⚓

Have you guys ever considered flying a real airplane? I think you would enjoy it.

I've had the priveledge of flying a small airplane a few times. I'd love to get into full scale one day! Thanks for tuning in Tim :-)

After flying this yesterday and being fairly experienced pilot, this would not be a good first plane, it glides like a brick, so learn to fly before you get one of these to learn how to stunt.
