That's a unique sound. Sort of like a flock of angry ducks. I like the slower speed of the fuel powered cars. The electric ones are a bit like watching a housefly buzz around the room.

It is, drones are mostly operated with goggles, but what any RC driver or pilot is going to tell you is that watching from the stand is way harder then seeing it from first person, and most of really good plane pilots have started flying with rc planes, not the real ones. Because it is way harder and it is better to develop a feeling for flying. Even 5 times F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton started by driving RC cars.

I tried out a mini RC. It's just as hard as you think. They aren't cheap either. The one I tried out was $220 to start. These are probably north of $500. Definitely more.

i dont think so, the vibrations are so much, that i dont think it would help. The weight of an fpv system that can handle the vibrations on an rc car of any size is not worth the advantage that one might gain. The drivers have learned to drive like this and fpv would probably not help considering the weight.

Must be gas engines as apposed to glo-fuel with nitro-methane. They sound similar at that size but the glow fuel residue would oil down the track surface post haste. Are these little four strokes?

I have a couple questions. I guess this is the 1/5 scale event. What restrictions are on the vehicles, cc, etc? Also, do aerodynamics play a role in handling? I can't imagine it affects speed.

I've driven rc cars as a kid. The control inputs are very small. It's takes practice. They can probably be customized today. 🤷‍♂️
