Thanks for explaining this. I bought a Joysway Monster cheap to see if the hobby was anything for me and couldn't figure out why it wanted to turn over all the time no matter how I placed the weight of the battery. Fun little cat but was way to unstable at full throttle. Gonna tinker with it based on this video info. Thanks again

Hey big B, I swear the last time you did a prop video you had and mentioned the propellers that have a tongue are high lift, and the propellers that do not have a tongue are low. It was the way it was mentioned last time now thinking about it when you sharpen that tongue to a razor sharpness, it gets to cut into the water and depending if you have your prop at 0° or or even -1 the tongue propeller, I understand it as it cutting into the water prior to the actual cup, begins to thrust the water molecules backwards. As the propellers that do not have a tongue when you visualize one of the blades, let’s say running at 0°, coming from the 12 o’clock position down into the water starting at about the 9 o’clock position and beginning it stroke down to the 6 o’clock position, a propeller with no tongue is almost as if it’s slapping the water down and hasn’t yet pushed it back. So I’m when it comes to propellers and the voodoo magic , I was wondering when we’re going to see some of us over here in the states get a hold of some of those handmade or even model manufacture made propellers that I see the guys running on the long tail boats those things a hybrid, no tongue, but still maintains the ear shape of being able to thrust the water back. You’ve seen them, I know you have. I guess it’ll just be something more to throw into the mix, but we gotta get our hands on some of those we need to connect. LOL Oh, and never mind Torioidal propellers

I'd love to get a Thailand long tail prop, just to see how it stacks up to an ABC/ octura prop. They look completely different than our props

Did u have to trim down the tube a hair to run a neutral prop angle being that high? Mine pushes the prop upward being that high. Also does your Veles have a lot of play in the rudder? Mine seems to have bushings a good bit bigger than the pin and allows many mm’s of slop left to right and front to back.
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir I trim the stuffing tube on most all my rtr boats it doesn't take much trimming maybe a mil or two. Here's a link to how I get the slop out of my rudder it's super easy. Around 15-17min in kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpysYZ-gmdutpZo kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpysYZ-gmdutpZo

Just a idea for you.. recently we flipped are veles boat...took on water and took out the little tiny receiver...so yes replaced it... however had a idea how to protect it next time....we ended up or used a balloon put it inside of it zip ties and no more water issues... 😊..

Oh yea I use balloons on a few boats. Use watch makers grease in the balloon opening then zip tie for added protection and or paper towel in the Ballon to soak up any moisture

A blackjack 24 of the veles 29 would be more suitable for a beginner rc boater. The ul19 is a hard boat to tame she's definitely built for the more advanced boater.

My Genesis has a tendency to lean due to the engine torque, what could be causing this, given that the axle is high and balanced?
@IRONCLADRC8 ай бұрын
Flat bottom strut could be adding to the roll over also I think the spray rail isn't long enough, they should have run the spray rail/strake the full length of the hull

@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
Not sure? Never ran that boat, shoot I've never seen one running in a video. You'll just need to run the boat with the new esc's check motor temps, if the motors are getting got (over 170) go with a lower kv motor & or larger can size so you'll have room to prop the boat up
@slickman1953 Жыл бұрын
Okay, I'll do some testing as soon as I get it setup. Still working on my SonicWake. There are a few videos on youtube about the E51, all fiberglass and lined with carbon fiber.

Big B, when you move the strut up and down are you changing the trim angle also or keeping it flat (no trim)? If keeping it flat does that mean the stuffing tube moves inside the strut at the same time? I just installed an OSE strut and cable in my BJ24 but my prop is super deep in order to have it flat. It seems like to get it up even with the ride pads the stuffing tube forces it to have a lot of upwards trim. Wondering if my stuffing tube is too long? Love watching your videos man!
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes your gonna have to slightly & gently bend the stuffing tune for the correct angle of attack. You should also consider trimming the stock stuffing tube to achieve a neutral or negative angle

Learning the lower prop position lifts the rear and pushes the nose down because it's biting harder why wouldn't you move CG back to look for the sweet spot ? And why on earth do you toss boats , scale out your drop
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
Well for one I was doing a controlled test with the cg the same for all strut positions, 2 I wanted to show all the new Catamaran owners what strut position does to a cat. And three these boats are made for high speed running including flips at 80 plus mile per hour flips I doubt a good Ole ironclad toss in the water is gonna break that veles..
