Really informative video Ray, I race onroad and I've hit a brick wall with lap times and sadly the emphasis is always oh just get these tires, get this body, get this car get get get but no one really talks about driving techniques at the track it's always about the gear. People like myself get frustrated and some people quit. This video is great for all levels I reckon, it's like RC coaching.

Thanks for the feedback Steve. Hope it helps out your racing! As much as I love the technical side, there needs to be more focus on driving in RC.

Great information. How does drag brake figure in?
@rmunday763 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, drag brake is similar to resting slightly on the brake. This helps the car automatically 'trail brake' into corners, helping to transfer weight onto the front end for more steering but without adding so much brake as to lock the wheels and lose grip. Drag brake is much more consistent than using the trigger to control small brake inputs into each corner.

Extremely good info. I'm on an extremely tight carpet track and it is night and day from driving dirt. I am in A 17.5 stockclass SCT. I am running the Trinity D4 motor but looking to buy An X factor motor. Not sure if this would be a dramatic difference but maybe you can and like maybe you can enlighten me on that
@rmunday763 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you like the info. Driving SCT on carpet you may want to check out the other vids on this channel re weight transfer. I can't really help with the motor question sorry, I'm not familiar with the Trinity products but maybe someone else here can help out.

Hi Ray thanks for the video - I’m trying your B64 set up and can’t figure out the spring. On the associated spring chart there are two different spring rates with the same color. You use yellow front and white rear what weight are these? Thanks Mike from NZ
@rmunday763 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, on the B64 we usually used the V1 yellow front with V1 white rear on our tracks.

This is about as thorough as you could get, without breaking out some formulas and stuff…. This is kinda ehat ive been trying to explain to my kid, how carrying speed is as good as acceleration for the most part…

Being able to do more with the 2wd mid turn must be why I majorly prefer 2wd over 4wd... 4wd is boring. Now I know why.
@rmunday763 жыл бұрын
4wd has more traction but the handling is more controlled by the chassis. With 2wd you can change the understeer / oversteer much more easily with driving. I also like 2wd more :)
@colestaples2010 Жыл бұрын
I only get traction if throttle position is perfect.
@rmunday76 Жыл бұрын
Throttle control is critical :). But it's also important to have transmitter, esc and moror settings correct to control throttle.

@@rmunday76 video is educational and i learn from it as most of your other car dynamic videos. 💯👍 the carl´s junior is a refefence to the film "idiocrazy" where a guy repeating carl´s junior in every centence like a prodriver where the sponsor names is mentioned as often as posible.
