RC LIVE | NORDERNEY - Surveying Vessel on Duty at MODELLBAU LIVE

Rescue Ships, Offshore ships, tugs... those are well known secialised vessels. The not so well known ones are the survey vessels. Without them, seacharts wouldn´t be as precise, as they are,... waterways would lead onto sand banks... but yet, despite their high importance for the shipping, they are a rare sight on our model lakes.
The NORDERNEY, a midsized vessel of this kind, is build from a robbe kit. It offers such a vaste oppertunity to integrate working functions, that I constantly wonder about what else might be possible: The Hull is quite flat and two tunnel-driven props make her not only able to go into shallow water, but also make her highly manoeverable. Lights, Anchor, Crane, even the tiny tenderboat (wich actually works a survey tender itself) is fully functional... a really nice example of a survey vessel!

Rettungskreuzer, Offshoreshiffe, Schlepper,... das alles sind sehr bekannte Spezialschiffe. Nicht ganz so bekannt sind die Vermessungsschiffe. Dabei wären ohne sie die Seekarten nicht annährend so präzise, wie sie heutzutage sind, ... Fahrwasser würden ab und an in Sandbänken enden,... und, trotz ihrer hohen Bedeutung für die Schiffahrt, sind sie bei ein seltener Anblick auf unseren Modellgewässern.
Diese NORDERNEY, ein mittelgroßer Vertreter dieser Gattung, entstand aus einem robbe Bausatz und bietet enorm viele Ausbaumöglichkeiten an. Durch den flachen Rumpf und die getunnelten Propeller hat sie kaum Tiefgang und ist ausgesprochen Manövrierfähig. Bei diesem Modell sind die Lichter, das Radar, der Anker, der Bordkran und sogar das Beiboot, welches auch im Original als Vermessungsboot eingesetzt wird, voll funktionsfähig! Was geht da noch?! Ein echt schönes Beispiel für ein Vermessungsschiff!

.... und aus den Untiefen des Meeres ergriff eine mächtige Hand die sterbliche Hülle der Tine um sie dann sogleich liebevoll wieder loszulassen. Es muß ein gnädiger Gott gewesen sein oder er hatte Angst, das Mama Norderney wieder mit dem Anker nach ihm wirft :-)) Sehr schöner Film eines funktional beeindruckenden Arbeitsschiffes ;)

Wieso verbindet Ihr (Du und auch Andreas) mich bloß mit einem Seeungeheuer,.. da könnten einem ja glatt die Haare ausgehen.... aber mit dem Anker,.. da bringst Du mich auf eine Idee.... das würde doch ein schönes "Positionsveränderungsinstrument" abgeben.. so aus der Tiefe... Gemäß meinem Text habe ich dich eher mit einer "Gottheit" verglichen, das mit dem "Ungeheuer" kann ich aber auch verstehen, denn von den Modellen im Wasser her bist du immer ungeheuer groß, halt Maßstab 1:1und nicht funkferngesteuert sondern autonom agierend, einfach ungeheuerlich :-))

Yes,.. the NORDERNEY with her little Tender is a really universal Fun and Scale Model. The Original "lives" only 80 km away from us, so I used to watch her going in and out of harbour as a kid. Super-Idee mit der Ankerkette als Auftakt zu einem ebenso superigen Video mit einem ebenso superigen Schiff - chapeau! Die Wiederaufnahme des Böötlis war sicher ein Geduldspiel und hat natürlich gleich beim ersten Versuch bestens geklappt. Tolle Leistung aller Beteiligten !!! Und das ist halt Film: Am Schluss wird der Anker wieder runter gelassen und der filmische Kreis hat sich geschlossen - Hitchcock-like !

Ahh,.. die ... das sind Sony Action Cams... die ganz kleinen sind Sony AZ-1, wärend die etwas größeren X-3000 und X-1000 er sind.... sind sehr empfehlenswert,.. seit ich die habe setze ich die deutlich lieber ein, als die ganzen Gopros...

Ja,.. und nicht nur kleiner,.. für meinen Zweck (und natürlich auch nur aus meiner Sich) deutlich besser :-)) Die haben zum Beispiel einen künstlichen Horizont, der das Bild, ein wenig dem menschlichen Kopf ähnelnd, hinterherzieht.

Ja, absolut richtig! Wobei es in dem Becken noch kaum Seegang war... anders sieht es da schon auf einem See aus... hihi. Aber wie heißt es so schön? Wir lieben die Herrausforderung! Mit der SEABEX angele ich auch manchmal eine gute halbe Stunde auf einer Stelle um mein "Unterwasserlabor" wieder an den Haken zu bekommen... meine Kollegen necken mich damit schon regelmäßig 😂😂😂 Hab ein tolles Wochende! Hi Kefo Pop,... thanks a lot, my friend! Hihi.. normally he has a rc controller with two sticks each two ways... to the right stick steers the mothership, the left one the tender. But this time a friend of him took the little one... actually I´m also thinking about using a second controller on my Seabex One,... handling the crane and holding the position at once is quite a problem... hmmm,.. so this makes it a teamsport, doesn´t it :-))) Best wishes, Holger

Hi Tom from New Jersey,... Holger from Schleswig-Holstein here... actually you might see them on the offshore vessels more than on the inlandships... they represent high speed rain wipers and are called Centrifugal Discs (dt. Schleuderscheibe). They are high speed rotating glass discs ( the inner of the "O"... that´s why theres a white line inside... it mounts the motor) and due to this fast rotation they throw immense ammounts of water - like a big wave splashing against the window - to the sides and achive in mere seconds a free sight for the captain. Wipers wouldn´t be able to act that fast... still more modern kinds of wipers are more and more used due to cleaning the whole window instead of only such a small patch of it.... Hi Peter,.. sadly the only chance to by a similar model to that one from the video is via online auction sites... the firm wich did manufactor the building kit of the "NORDERNEY" doesn´t exist any more... wich really is sad... But sadly the firm went down and today the only chance to get a decent one is to check all the online auction plattforms for a used one.... Sorry, for the bad news... Hi Robin,..this Modell is the “Norderney“ from the former Firm “robbe“. It was a building Kit and quite popular... As robbe didn't manage to survive, You can't just buy it right now... but you might get lucky in one of the online auction platforms. Just perhaps Krick, a German Firm who bought quite a bit of robbe's kits, might consider to bring her out again... whichwould be great 👍. Sorry for not having a more positiv answer...
