RC OFFSHORE Event Ships and More | the Fjord of Flensburg, Baltic Sea

Every Year some brave RC-Captains did meet at the northernmost coastline of Germany to challange the baltic sea with their rc-modelships... then there was a big break... and here they are again! Now also on the land and in the sand.... Trucks, Buggys, and of course ships ... whatever has enough duration,..
On the BALTIC SEA only two ships dared to challange the Fjord of Flensburg,... and also the weather was with them, none returned to the harbour on it´s own power... it´s a totally different kind of modelling. They don´t have to circle on a pond were, if something goes South, they can return to the shore. Here it´s a 2.4 nautical miles distance wich they will have to work through,.. what ever lays in their way. And so they did!

Jedes Jahr trafen sich ganz oben and Deutschlands nördlichster Küste ein paar tapfere RC-Kapitäne, die mit ihrem Modellen die Ostsee herraus forderten... nun sind sie zurück! Und nicht nur das,... auch auf der Landseite über Beton und Strand haben sich viele Fahrzeuge auf den Weg gemacht, die Distanz zu überwinden!
Auf der Ostsee haben sich zwei Schiffe getraut, die Flensburger Förde zu befahren,... und obwohl das Wetter mitgespielt hat, schaffte keines die ganze Strecke! Es ist eben eine vollkommen andere Art des Modellfahrens. Hier geht es nicht im Kreis über den Teich,... hier müssen die Schiffe, und jetzt auch die Landfahrzeuge, von einem Startpunkt die ganze Distanz zum Ziel und wieder zurück überwinden,... komme was wolle!
Neugierig geworden? Selber mal ausprobieren? Traut Ihr Euch mit Euren Modellen auf die Ostsee? Hi LeinesX,... ja, ein bisschen Mut gehört da sicherlich ebenfalls mit dazu... aber vor allem ein sicheres Modell! Die Schiffe dort werden teilweise extra nur für diese Fahrt gebaut.... (wie ja auch meine AZIZ, mit der ich die Sturmvideos auf unserem Kanal gedreht habe). Abes es ist schon verblüffend wie die Schiffe arbeiten, obwohl es doch eigentlich ein friedlicher und nicht so windiger Tag ist :-) LG Holger

Den Tanker find ich intressant.Einmal durch seine Länge und dann vor allem wegen der Bugwelle, bei langsamer bzw.ruhiger Fahrt schnittig und wenn es dann "Härter"zugeht ins Wasser stampft.

excellent!,,,love seeing the big ships plying the real waters with rough seas.they take it well too.would love to see this one along with say 3-4 others do a full crossing at low speed,sort of like an adventure thing being on a mission,bet they could do it solid!,,,perhaps with a load of gravel or sand?,,,,good job!

Hi Roddy,... actually they can :-). These Supertankers can carry,... water! They actually have a bunch of tanks to simulate sailing in balast or with full load.... others do carry big lead blocks to simulate different stands of load. :-) Best wishes, Holger

Liebe Bilge, lieber Holger und lieber Marco, wenn ich mich nicht irre, dann hat mir mein Vater schon vor 30 Jahren von dieser Veranstaltung erzählt. Die Teilnahme daran war immer ein kleiner Traum von mir, aber durch meine kleine Micro Magic ist er nun größer als jemals zuvor geworden. Hättest Du Bedenken, die MM dem Salzwasser auszusetzen? Bis auf die Ruderanlage hat sie ja im Grunde keine Problemzonen…? Ich kann mir jedenfalls gut vorstellen, dass sie eine solche Strecke vollkommen problemlos und vielleicht sogar erstaunlich schnell bewältigen kann´. Ein herrliches Video, das einen von der Teilnahme mit einem eigenen Modell träumen läßt. VG, Andreas

Ek woon ver van die see af (Pretoria), maar ek het een jaar my vragskip af gery see toe om dit daar te vaar. In Mosselbaai is daar Sandtos strand wat beskerm word deur die hawemuur, en dus is daar nie baie golwe nie. Om my handewerk op die see te sien vaar was onbeskryflik. :) Ek wens ek kon vir jou n foto stuur. Miskien moet ek maar n blog begin of iets.

How to protect rc boat for salt water?

Hi 933pilgrim, the most important protection against salt water is to get your boat watertight in the first place... not only from below, but also from above... there are different other points to take care of, too. If saltwater enters the hull it has to be rinsed carefully with sweetwater afterwards..

The rudder shaft, if well lubricated and flushed after sailing should be no problem.. actually I never had any Problems with salt water... only the brass Props loose their perfect finish... but I always take care to use high quality bearings and shafts... but also, if rinsed with sweet water after sailing it should be ok..

Hi Jwmoor,... thank you... and yep, you are right! We always have to discuss the original speed versus the original wavepattern at the bow..... not an easy decision. For vessels that large I would recommend 100-200kv brushless skateboard motors I use 85kv gimbal motors for my underfooter tugs seems to be more realistic speeds and torque. Check out my channel to see what I mean. Have a nice day @@Subwaterfilm

Hallo ihr Lieben, es würde mich wirklich reizen mit einem meiner Modelle (dachte an die Robbe Comtesse oder die WS14, evtl. auch die Cap Domingo) mit zu machen, aber leider sind 650 km Anreise etwas zu viel für mich. Moin! Danke schön, für dieses schöne Filmchen. Es ist eine Augenweide und ein echtes Vergnügen gewesen. Frage: a) Ist denn vorgeschrieben, mit welcher Kraftquelle die Schiffe zu fahren sind? Will heißen, sind nur elektrische Antriebe oder auch Verbrennungsmotoren erlaubt... b) Wie sieht es mit der Größe (Maßstab) der Schiffe aus? Ich danke schon jetzt für eure Antworten.

Hi, danke für dein netten Kommenar. Zu deinen fragen, soweit ich weiß ist keine Vorschrift vorhanden. Die Modelle sind aber bis jetzt alle elektrisch angentrieben. Rennboote mit Verbrennermotor habe ich auch keine darunter gesehen. Maßstab ist auch nicht vorgegeben. Am besten, man wendet sich an den Veranstalter, denn wenn man mitmachen will, sollte man sich anmelden. Gruß Bilge from Subwaterfilm

Hihi... Hay WafiyVin,.... let me ad some more options to the answer from RC Scale Warships comment... A. : Most modern Boats do have so called Bowstream Rudders or at least twin Propellers to help them turning while not moving ahead. While a small Propeller in the Bow of the Ship pushes it´s Bow sideways it turns on the plate. Also the two propellors at the aft can turn a boat around when moving in different directions.... one forward, one backwards... combined the ship can even move sideways... other ships do have azimuth drives (Schottel drives or Voith Schneider Drives) wich allow them, to let their propulsion stream into every direction they want. B.: Als RC Scale Warships already wrote, they use a rudder at the aft of the boat. It uses the water streaming around it, to direct the aft of the boat into the new direction,... and then the boat turns... Sailingships can use their sail in addition to that to support the rudder. Moin Holger, mal wieder ein sehr schönes und abwechslungsreiches Video. Als Frachtschiffsfan interessieren mich besonders die beiden Handelsschiffe. Der Stena-Tanker erinnert mich optisch sehr an eine Serie von Bulkern, die Mitte der 1970er Jahre von FSG an die Reederei C. Toepfer/ Hamburg geliefert wurden. WIEN, WARSCHAU, DRESDEN und EMMA JOHANNA sahen recht ähnlich aus. Schön, derart ausgefallenes Modell einmal zu sehen. Welcher Maßstab ist denn das? Bei 1/100 würde ich doch einmal um ein Treffen bitten;-). Gruß Arne

Hallo Arne, Du hast recht, nicht nur der Bulker, sondern auch das Containerschiff ab 00:07 ist eines aus der FSG Serie Typ I, die Anfang der 80er zu 8 Einheiten gebaut wurden, von denen die ersten beiden für Janssen in Elsfleth, die nächsten drei für Jakarta Lloyd, Indonesien und die letzten drei Einheiten für COSCO, China gebaut wurden. Die Einheiten unterscheiden sich, zumindest von der Optik, nur dadurch voneinander, dass die beiden Schiffe unter deutscher Flagge (leistete man sich damals noch) ohne, die drei unter indonesischer mit verschiedenen Krantypen und die chinesischen, ich glaube sowohl mit als auch ohne Kräne, ausgerüstet wurden. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/FSG_Typ_1 Weil ich diese Containerschiffe mit trapezförmigem Hauptspant und dem sehr markanten, extremen Flare im Vorschiff, der durch die Vermeidung des üblichen Knicks auf Höhe Hauptdeck in dem Bereich bedingt ist, von den Rumpflinien her recht gefällig finde, habe ich natürlich von diesem Typ auch einen Linienriss mit DelftShip gezeichnet. Ich würde gern ein paar Bilder hier davon posten, weiss aber nicht, wie das hier im YT Comment Thread funktioniert. Ich finde zumindest keinen Upload Button oder Link dafür. Da hat Bilge genau recht. Es gibt tatsächllich ein paar Kleinserienhersteller, welche Rumpf und Aufbau für Frachter in den handelsüblichen Maßstäben anbieten (z.B. : Jörg Brennecke aus Flensburg, ..oder kleine Kümos von Krick) und diese sind eine echte Bereicherung unserer Modellgewässer und zeitgleich ein Garant für ein "Nicht-Massen-Modell" :-) Auch e-Bay und Co bieten da natürlich optionen für gebrauchte Modelle. Hi John,.. not,.. it´s not. Those models are sailing on the baltic sea! That area is calles the "Flensburger Foerde" (Fjord of Flensburg) and is situated between Denmark and Germany. Actually they did start at the harbour of Glücksburg and set sail out of the Fjord of Flensburg along the coast. So,.. no pond. Best wishes, Holger

Hi Fabio... I´m sorry,.. but most of these hulls are build from scratch! Especially the Tankers and Box Carriers are rare to find and so it´s more easy to build them on ones own.
