You drove it like you stole it, great cornering, both by the boat and driver. Love the clean wooden look as well! Cheers DJ

A "bull bar" is actually a good idea. I've got some thin stainless steel i could cover the nose with like a bumper. Lol. Thank you for the GOODIE BOX,, I've been wearing your hat, "fits like a glove" thanks again brother in boats

The grease is used on O rings to seal waterproof - diving watches. I use it when reassembling watches. Never thought about using it for this application but it's a great idea. The little rigger was hauling ass!

I did some work a few years back on modern sponson design ,and posted a couple of you tube clips. As the old school super wide ones are no longer needed to hold up the weight of an engine , well worth trying a set of parallel sided ones if you get a chance to make a set, it also gives you the chance to build in a full width bracket for the turn fin, you get less corner braking ,so less prop lifting as the moment arm goes forward, so less chance of spinning out .Not sure how you and doc keep motivated , great work both . Its possible i will get off my butt and run again .So many thanks, PJB

Crazy good driving, that's NUTZ running between those Christmas trees! My JAE33 oversteers and hooks the turns like that too if I back off the throttle too much on the turns. I open up all my receivers and brush on silicone conformal coating on the boards, both sides. Never had an issue getting wet. Same for steering servos. I love how you share all your tuning tips, that's the right way, pass it on! Subscribed...

Very Very nice! It's the same size my 7.5 nitro was! I had the same issue you're having! The way I fixed mine was to make the front pontoons about a half to 1in thicker and in the back just like you did with the ski in the middle I put one on each side of the middle. It calmed it down. My boat on a speed gun went 89mph! Lol I also was on 65% nitro! Lol 😂

That's the same power system (well, essentially the same) as I'm running in my Silver Bullet. It is a MONSTER. So is yours! I'm getting mine dialed in (had some stern hopping issues), but I don't get as much water time as you so it will take me much longer to get it right. I'm running a smaller prop to start (3218) and I think it allows the motor to spin up a bit faster for better efficiency. Waynerd gave me a Shrimp kit and now I have to do a lot of planning on how I want to power it. Featherweight or heavy-hitter...... So many options.
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
I think I'm about to put a recovery pad on the front of my sponsons, that may help prevent the "skip out/nose dive" in a corner ?
@Dr_Jet2 жыл бұрын
@@IRONCLADRC You know that Waynerd gave me one of those kits, so I will be watching your experiments very closely. I'm thinking I may take the power system out of the Dona and put it in that wood kit rigger (Haven't settled on as name yet).

My Prather Spitfire 1 has rear sponsons and a center ski that sits deeper factory glass boat held 21 class record for years 63 mph. I'm thinking about going electric but I'd hate to cut it up. 63mph with stock KB PRO 21 not bad for almost 30 years ago.
@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
Oh man I know what you mean hard decision, personally i think you'll like Electric, you could basically tack an extra 10 mph maybe even 15 mph on that 63 easy.
@nealstarling54222 жыл бұрын
One things for sure, you can plant your boat in between those water features with ease. I believe you have the skills to race and be highly competitive. I have that same little shrimp outrigger, I just haven’t gotten around to putting a motor in it. What do you recommend? Yep I love to see your boats run flat out like that. Thanks for sharing.
