This is pretty old now, back when Losi debuted the 8ight, all the revolutionary enhancements became a standard..especially the big bore shocks, then the playing field was leveled, not to mention Drake was at the top of his game back then. So many companies have come to pass since then, I remember the rave about he GRP engines among others, it was a very revolutionary time for r/c racing then, so many new technologies coming to light, it is a very competitive world, too bad it isnt "mainstream" well known. What time to be into this hobby back then!!! Lots of great drivers when it wasnt so easy to get a sponsorship. You really had to be good.

The inertia from the wheels can change the way the cars pitch in the air so if you tap the brakes in the air, the car goes nose down but if you tap the gas, it brings the nose up.

@chigozie123 They do jump forward in essence. The driver juices the throttle just before the bottom of the ramp in order to obtain maximum stability through the air once it has left the ramp. It's a property about the weight distribution as it goes up the ramp and into the air. Cool stuff!!!

@chigozie123 These buggies are geared to just about top out on this track, so that they can get as much acceleration as possible in the tight spaces. If you swap the spurs out on these things they will easily exceed 70+mph. The men in the green reflector jackets are on the track to flip cars that wreck. The drivers are on a platform above the track so they can easily see the entire course without having to spin in circles to watch their own car.

they can probably go about 60 if with the right tuning and stuff and the controllers are made custom if your a big time rc racer to give more of a trigger pull but im only 12 and the guys in the vest are to flip the cars back over if the flip

A year or so, learn that in air if you tap the brakes the car tilts foward. Only works with electric you can do that with gas and nitro, but it won't work as well

Dan Minton sorry, that was dumber me back then. i've never driven a nitro car, but i've driven gas. I thought nitros were too heavy, gas cars need to get huge air before they begin to move.

badad0166 As per usual, with indoor R/C non ovals, the track consists of mainly switchbacks, tight turnarounds and drag races to the next hairpin. I just wish there was a "less real estate conscious" layout, with some opened up turns to race in and around, vs drag race, pile up, drag race, pile up...Shorter course plus more laps equals better race imo. While I'm here, if you slow down the playback a bit, it becomes more "realistic". Try it. Custom 80% or so. p.p.s. If they added some weight rules (forced minimum weight up forcing shorter gears) things would slow down and be less "twitchy". Again, a little more realistic. Don't know about the racing for the drivers, but would be a better TV show. Simple paint schemes on "Stock Appearing" bodies would also add appeal. I'm so smart.
