Right LimaOscarLima, and duder12, flaps aren't necesary for landing but they were definitely neccesary to successfully land this model given it's weight, the wind, and the pilot's chosen flying speed. It was a textbook case of an approach to landing stall--easily avoided by using about 15 degrees of flaps. 33 years ago, I made the same mistake in a full-scale cessna 152 but (fortunately) my instructor quickly added full power before we hit the fences at the approach end of the runway!

pitch and power equals performance. in steady state flight, for a given weight, there is one airspeed for a given angle of attack. power will determine sink rate. most guys fish for the approach speed without understanding the above and just powers down and fish for the flare in a constant transitional state. very difficult way to fly and land.

did you see the six objects in frame 844 right before the landing they were in formation vertical 3 on each side? i know birds dont have a shine to them i might be wrong but let me know if you see them Thanks sorry about your crash, iam a rc pilot my self

Just needed to find the right approach speed. Can certainly land a Cessna without flaps, depending on wind conditions and of course speed and length of runway. Hope you get back up in no time. Excellent flight though.

@Fra42below The approach-to-landing stall generated a high sink rate that destroyed the aiplane. What else could cause the airplane hit the ground so hard, in a wings-level, nose-level atitude? Note: At 9:20 he surges and then cuts back the power, the airplane slows, stalls, and drops like a rock at 9:21

Btw that wasn't a stall. He came in too low. Its liftoff speed tells it all
@MsFlyboy10013 жыл бұрын
if you dont set the low speed neddle that will happen
@fractalbeliever he just needed to clear the tall grass before touching down. speed was ok, gliding ratio too. :)

So you dont even let the engine warm up? Just start it? Immediatly cut the throttle to idle, then try to take off? UMMMMMM OK. First mistake
@shreddinjoe7 жыл бұрын
Also I have a 182..Not this big, however, they will stall easily enough. Their weight is a little heavier for their thinner wings, and minimum dihedral. The engine on this one certainly didnt sound dialed in correctly. If your gonna land this thing with no power, better have a steep glide path. Other wise , its a recipe for disaster. All the same, Sucks to see this bird go down due to Poor piloting management

Take an eletric trainer plane, you are a very beginner! Take this airplane when you are a good pilot, don't take it now!

Unstable flight, no flaps on the final approach, too much confidence without realizing your limited skill.....you deserve it.

I agree with you completely I can't stand these Post where guys say we all make mistakes you don't wanna See what you forgot to do in the air on a plane like this
