i remember pastor John's Macarthur's sermon on God's holiness. A sovereign, all powerful, eternal, holy Being who knew no sin and could never taste any kind of physical and emotional damage His entire life from eternity past to future came down to earth on His own free will.. only to be tormented, laughed at, scorned and killed for our very sins. Until today, the magnitude of His holiness is still incomprehensible to me.

It was God's amazing mercy that God didn't let us live forever separated from Him, but instead blocked the way to the tree of life and sent them away from the garden so that He could redeem and restore, so that we could be with Him for eternity NOT stuck with our son and the pain that comes with it.

If what we consider to be the atrocities commited by Hitler were merely copies of actions god undertook surely Hitler must be pure and holy too. "did hitler create Adam and eve?" Not answering my question.... "did Hitler send his begotten son to die for our sin? " Hitler didn''t create sin. He also never threatened anyone with eternal torture. Also not answering my question. " You comparing hitler to Him the beginning and the end?" Yes, me comparing Hitlers actions to theose of the god of the bible. "Stop using all these stupid comparison to bring ur point across because it leads to nowhere!" Answer me please, was your god being pure and holy when he committed and ordered genocides? " And if u really wanna compare, pls compare with full research and full points, and not just partial truth! " Are you calling me a liar? Have you read the bible? Would you like me to give you scripture references for the genocide, torture murder slavery etc in it? "You simply do what the serpent do, half truth, partial truth!" I can give you a lesson on the full truth in the bible if you wish. Have you actually read ALL of the bible?

100%. I love that man. We think too much of ourselves and too little of God. The church needs to wake up and understand who we truly are- wretched hell deserving sinners at the mercy of an all powerful, holy and eternal God. We need to be thankful to God for all the mercies and benefits that He bestows upon us, yet always knowing it is for His names sake, and His glory not ours that He does this (Ezekiel 36:22 and 32)

I love this clip because you can see R C was flabbergasted that believers would have this notion that depraved, wicked man would think his punishment is too severe for being the wicked lawbreaker he is (1 John 3:4, Romans 3:10-18, James 2:10, Ephesians 2:1-3, Jeremiah 17:9, etc.). The question presented has the same presupposition that many non-reformed believers bring to the table; why is God so "hard" or "mad?" Dr. Sproul rightly asked, "What's wrong with you people?" We need to be renewing our minds day to day (Romans 12:1-2) to understand the wondrous, absolute attributes of God and the totally depraved nature of man to bask in the grace, mercy, and love of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection for sins.

@Steven Irizarry Your complaint is already addressed, asked, and answered in Romans 9:19-24. Your best answer to your complaint is right in scripture, so I lovingly suggest you prayerfully study it and know God is God and God is good.
@2timothy234 жыл бұрын
@Steven Irizarry Again, the answer is in scripture. God elects us unto salvation; He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), which means He did it before He created anything in Genesis 1:1. So by definition, the non-elect are unsaved people. And no, unsaved people don't want to genuinely be saved due to their wicked nature of sin. This is what the Bible says about the unsaved world (this is scripture, not my opinion): Romans 3:10-20 A) There is none righteous B) There is none that understands C) There is no one that seeks after God D) All are unprofitable E) There is none that does good F) They have wicked, deceitful mouths G) They’re murderers H) Their ways are destructive and miserable I) They don’t know the way of peace J) They have no fear of God K) They are all guilty before God L) Nothing they do justifies them before God Ephesians 2:1-3 A) Spiritually dead B) Walking according to the world (which is according to Satan) C) Lusts/desires of the flesh and mind dictate their lives D) Children of disobedience E) Children of wrath Jeremiah 17:9 A) Deceitful heart B) Desperately wicked heart John 15:18-23 A) They hate Christ B) They hate Christians C) They hate God the Father John 3:18-19 A) Condemned already B) Loves darkness instead of light C) Their deeds are evil Romans 8:7-8 A) The carnal mind is at enmity against God (The Greek word for enmity means hostility or opposition) B) Those in the flesh can’t please God (The Greek word for flesh is sarx, which literally means the skin, but in other contexts, as with these verses, means the carnal, human nature) 1 Corinthians 2:4 A) Can’t receive the Spiritual things of God B) Can’t know the Spiritual things of God Romans 1:21 A) They don’t glorify God B) They are not thankful to God C) They are vain in their imaginations D) They have darkened, foolish hearts Proverbs 14:12 A) Man’s ways seem right to him B) The end of man’s ways is death Romans 3:23 A) All have sinned (there is no exception as it pertains to Jew or Gentile) B) All come short of the glory of God When you meditate on this list describing mankind’s nature, you understand the depths of man’s depravity. 1 John 3:4 defines sin as the transgression (or breaking of God’s law). This is more than action, it is also thoughts or words. Jesus Himself said whosoever commits sin is a slave to it (John 8:34). Sin is more than just action (a verb), it is our very nature (a noun). And because of it, if they are not chosen by God, then they will never genuinely want to be saved by the grace of God because they hate God and love themselves more. The questions you asked are answered in scripture, not my opinion. Now unless every verse I referenced with the interpretation is incorrect (which has to be shown by content, context, and grammar), then I stand by my answer.

+Michael I can tell you why but the chances are that like most religitards, you have a nasty little habit of not listening. He was asked why a God who is supposedly slow to anger and patient poured out such long lasting wrath and punishment upon mankind. Anyone with a few functioning brain cells can see the contradiction. Sproul, however, has shit for brains. The question angers him (because he can't fucking answer it) and like a true 'Christian' coward, he avoids it and his response is tantamount to saying "how dare anyone question God". With laughable irony, he goes on to say "what's wrong with you people?" and inadvertently tells the truth by saying "we don't know who God is". I await a cliché ridden, hypocritical, excuse filled, moronic response.

God is Holy and God cannot tolerate sin. He must judge sin because sin is evil. This is the truth about God that most people always seem to forget. But he gave his Son to be the way for us to come back to him. It took God's only Son, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. That's how God showed his love and mercy to us.
