Hello BBowenrc My name is Paul and I bought a Traxxas X0-1 and I gotta tell you I have to be the happiest guy on the planet. I have wanted one so bad for the last three years that I literally went to about 4 different banks to try to get a loan and I got turned down. I was so depressed for a while until I received a huge chunk of money for unpaid taxes that were owed to me. It was like a dream. I couldn't believe it. I finally had enough money to go out and buy my X0-1 but after seeing this video I am in love with this Losi Audi. Unfortunately not enough to want it as much as I wanted the X0-1 lol. I will tell you aesthetically it's more beautiful than the XO-1. But the XO-1 blows this party out of the water on so many different levels. For one the X-01 was designed for speed and a lot of research went into it. Second of all its more beautiful than the X0-1 one. But the X0-1 one blows this Audi out of the water on so many different levels for one the X0-1 was designed for speed and a lot of research when into it. It teamed up with Castle creations a popular brushless motor Co. and put the right kind of motor in there to go over 100 miles per hour the losi Co. put any motor in there or god knows what 8kind of Motor they put in there but the motor is not built for speed because let's face it this car's top speed is 60 plus miles per hour , the X0-1 one goes twice as fast and that was it's main selling point. To me was the fact that this was the first 100 mile per hour car out of the box. Third of all The X 01 is not just a one trick pony you have something in the XO-1 called TSM or traction system management which is A system which helps the car stay stable at higher speeds and prevent skidding or losing control something very similar that's found an actual cars. Some argue and say the Audi does not need this system this is bullshit. Any kind of R.C. car the operates at high speeds needs some kind of traction control system why? You say. Because it is literally impossible to keep a car in a straight line at those high speeds without losing control of it. Unless you have an expensive top shelf quality servo. The Losi Audi is also a lot more money than the Traxxas xo-1 and the traxxas xo 1 is a good company wait not just a good company but a great company and their cars are built very expensively. So there you have it in a nutshell the xo-1 is so much more better on so many different levels than the Audi the only thing that makes the Audi better than the XO 1 is just simply the looks it does look a lot better than the XO one but that's not to say the XO one is ugly because in my opinion I think the exo one is absolutely gorgeous to look at.

Nice big motor of 1200kv but can anyone tell if the motor can take 8s as the esc is not able to? Considering that it is a 1/5 scale motor fairly low kv it should be able to take 8s if not 10s?

Stock the xo1 won't hit 100mph you have to change gears and go online to unlock the esc before it will go 100 and the tires only grip in a straight line so if you love parking lot racing 65-70 mph I'd choose the r8 a friend of mine has one and it hugs the turns like the real thing just my opinion

I own both and let me tell you something my losi with a tp is way smoother and faster then my xo1. Xo1 are known for slipping and being all over the place unless you put a oven on top lol

killer review. the XO-1 did initially sell for 999 so maybe the R8 will drop some too/ they are not exactly the same class so all the more interesting to compare the two.

Excellent review. very straight to the point. Very truthfull. I own the new 2015 XO 1 and everything you pointed out in your review is true. You forgot to mention the TSM system on the XO-1. That alone beats the Losi. IMHO. ☺👍

+Edwin Cordero Hey thanks man. You're right about the TSM, but the Audi has something similar, they call it AVC, or Active Vehicle Control. I don't know if one stability system is better than the other, but since both vehicles have one form of the technology, I didn't really touch on it. Thanks for the comment.

You always look like you're having fun, which is the only way to do it. Keep the vids coming! Thanks again. The ESC reminds me of my Hobbywing max 8 or even max 6. What are your thoughts on this? If it is a max 8, that speaks highly of the capability of the ESC to run such a large motor!

I think it's the MAX6 +Ken Trapnell. The only weird thing is the ESC says 150A on the side. I assume it's a typo on Dynamite's part, but the ESC should be very capable of the LMS power. Thanks for your feedback man!

I own both the Traxxas XO1 and Losi 6ix Audi R8. It easy to see why the 2 draw comparisons, but they have different purposes. The XO1 is drag race/speed run car, that can be track ready with modifications and tuning. The R8 is a track ready car that can be a drag race/speed run car with modifications and tuning. The XO1 is faster, the R8 handles better. Losi put a much better servo in the R8 (490oz of torque) than Traxxas did for the XO1 (125oz of torque). The XO1 has a better esc and motor, but the R8's system is definitely capable of handling 8s. Losi could've done much better with the motor especially, but likely wanted it mild, judging from the 1200kv 6s motor. Most 1200kv motors from other companies are 8-10s, so Losi likely wanted that on purpose. The radio systems on both cars need to be swapped out in my opinion, although the Traxxas system surprisingly glitches and cogs less than the Spektrum system that comes with the R8. The XO1 tires last longer and are much cheaper to replace, but the R8 tires grip the road better. Traxxas could've made stock spur gears lower than 46T, which is the lowest you can get without modification. The R8 spur is 37T, which has speed run written all over it, but they dropped the ball by making no other spur gear outside of 37T. Losi pinon gears range from 15-22T. XO1 pinion gears are 14T, 29T & 34T. There's more upgrades available for the XO1 then for the R8, but the XO1 has been around a lot longer. Both cars on the inside can take on different setups, depending on your imagination. Both cars have their strong points and flaws, but it really depends on what your looking for. I say own both, because their both great cars. The R8 was recently discontinued, so it's going to be a lot harder to get a hold of one. I'm looking to get a 2nd & 3rd R8 for that reason alone.

Nice vid overall. One gripe I have is that by saying that the Traxxas is basically half the price but twice as fast (which is true), does not tell the whole story. The Traxxas is basically a one trick pony. It's fast,damn fast but I believe that the Losi should prove to be a much better performer overall. It's plenty fast enough as is and could be geared up to be really fast if you wish to do so. The difference is I believe the Losi will be able to handle way,way better in turns and race series' for this platform are likely in the future.Rather than saying the Losi blends speed and looks, perhaps you should have said blends speed and handling. Not trying to nit pick, just think the Losi''s versatility vs the Traxxas is something that has to be considered. Once again,great vid overall and thanks for the upload.
