use Shoe goo to glue the wheels: Reason #1) it doesn't care what residue is left on the tire or wheel,. if its on there it WILL stick! , 2) it doesn't spread out like CA glue, 3) it doesn't harden anything like CA and it leaves a rubbery residue which helps with side wall flex, 4) you can reuse the wheel easily when you wear the tire out, just apply a hair dryer and it will peel off.

Thanks Ryan! I have been out of R/C racing since the 90's (life, kids and career) but life has slowed down, kids are grown and out and i own my own business so i have the time and desire to get back into the hobby and sport. Your videos sparked my interest and are very informative and well done. i have since decided to start slow and basic and bought a slash 2wD and so far all of the videos i have watched have applied in one form or another. My only crutch is understanding all the new options that come on the Traxxas pistol grip controls (everything was a bit simpler back in my day) do you have a video on how to use and adjust them? Thanks again for all the awesome videos you have done. Mike

Thanks for the info and sharing your experience... Associated people are just cool people ... Your vids are awesome... I take all you offer on board and have learnt tons... I'd like to see a vid on shock oil weight vs spring tension (springyness 😂) for different track surfaces, maybe the same vid could cover rear wing down force... If I get a vid about the content above, I'll cry like I'm at a Beiber concert. Cheers Ryan and keep the vids coming..

Hey Ryan it's Daimon here, a thing to note is that a open cell foam will make the tire have a softer spongier feel giving it more grip. In general we only use open cell inserts in an outdoor setting generally only in DD's. As grip comes up and we go to either a reflex or bar tire we run the closed cell foam to mellow out the car and generate more corner speed because the tire isn't folding over in the corner..Anyways great video 👍🏻

Hi Ryan, I've been watching all your vids for some time. I like all of the elements you cover, from painting, to explaining all the setups and what they alter. I particularly like seeing you race with all the background filming, plus the last one I saw excepting this one about getting sponsorship with Jason R. I think my son in law Aidan Burke has been in contact with you about linking up on the BBT pod cast (big blue tent). Lots of guys over here in the UK have been following you since I told them about your link. We are all looking forward to hearing you. Keep up the good work. Tommy T

So, it’s a 61mm wheel, but Ryan your link goes to a 60mm tire. I was curious so I searched for a bit and found a ton of 61mm wheels for sale, but could not find any 61mm tires. Do they not make them anymore or is the 60mm tire intended to go on a 61mm wheel? Newb here just trying to understand all this. Thanks & love the videos.

He's now doing "driving tip" videos, where he breaks down what (a given driver) is doing right and wrong on various portions of the track. Very helpful stuff. Also, Australia's Ray Munday (AE rep) had some excellent videos that include a morning clinique, complete with dry-erase boards, then in depth track walks showing the best lines and strategies.

Hey Ryan. I know this is an old video, but in case you see it... every time i have glued tires, EVERY TIME, no matter how hard I try, i cannot get a balanced tire glued to the rim. I do it just in the same way you have shown, rolling it around, seating it on the wheel perfectly, check for any lumps... but, no bueno. Do you have a method? (I wonder what would happen if you were to spin it on a drill to make sure no single point is heavier with foam than the others?) It almost seems like the wheel itself is bent for at least one or two of every set I make. The tire seems to be mounted perfectly almost every time, but man, it wobbles like crazy once mounted and vibrates if on the rear... I don't get it! Also, dude, everything you make is fantastic, it shows that you do this sort of thing professionally.It's technically and stylistically perfect, and you are great on camera. And you're a rockstar on the track to boot! Your content is the best thing to happen to RC in ages. Thanks for your hard work and passion.
@seriousscaleracing1024
@seriousscaleracing1024 4 жыл бұрын
Personally I’ve caused a wobble before by using too much glue and having the glue collect in the foam. This forms a heavy spot in the foam. This can happen most easily with thin glue. Less is better. Another idea is to pre mount your tires and foams onto the rim for a while (overnight if you can) before gluing. This can help the tires conform to the shape of the wheel and can also help. Good luck.

How about drilling a little hole into the rim? Just thought of it. I think the hole in the tire could cause it to rip easier. Also, if you reuse the rims, then you only have to do it once.

Why in the earth would you make holes into rubber? O.o Best case you get dirt etc inside of your wheels and worst water, mud and other crap, or tires will rip apart, cause now there is weak point in the rubber. If you want to release pressure more than holes in the rim, then do more holes on the rim and put some electric tape over the hole. Tape will release if there is any drastic pressure build up, as its weaker than superglue and tape still keeps water and crap from getting inside the wheel. Why do i need to explain this to channel that has 5,4k subs? Of course i might be mistaken something, but please do enlighten me what that could be?

i think it is sad that so-called off-road rc racing has degraded to the point where the surfaces the cars run on are so sanitized that it's ok to run with actual holes cut in the sidewalls of the tires , i doubt a car could make it a full lap on an old school off-road track with holes in its tires.....
