RC-TNT

Күн бұрын

My first video published on May 27, 2021 ( • RC-TNT Begins! Quick L... ). I had no idea what I was doing, nor really what I wanted to do with RC-TNT. That is, except to hang out with my online RC fam and talk about (and play with!) RC cars. Seemed like a good place to start!
I've heard being a youtuber can be a soul-sucking grind. Thankfully, the opposite has been true in my experience. This has been a relaxing yet stimulating way to explore the hobby in more detail than I ever had before. It's connected me with many fantastic people. I've deepened my knowledge and my appreciation of what goes into making a great crawler, a tough basher, and of what it takes to build a channel. It's a big job!
Today, RC-TNT has passed 2 million views, has 270+ full-effort videos published, over 11,000 subscribers, and a whole lot more to do yet!
Thank YOU for watching :)

Wow..! 3 years.!! 👍 👍 👍 How your channel has grown... From the very first video of yours that I watched, I knew you were going places. You're one of my favorite channels nowadays mate, you seem like a throughly nice bloke with heaps of experience that you're happy to share with all of us.! You've said a few times how RC is your refuge & how it helps your mental health... That especially resonates with me because back in 2020 I was hospitalised because of my drinking & mental health, I'd literally just given up & I'd started drinking with the idea that it would end me. When I was in hospital my mum, sister & Doctor talked me into doing a detox & seeking mental health treatment.. I agreed, got sober & started going to weekly appointments with a psychologist & a psychiatrist. I remember being asked "what do you like doing".? I replied "nothing".! From that I was encouraged to take up a hobby, something that I thought I'd enjoy, that would give me something to focus on & would get me out the house. I thought of how growing up I used to enjoy marshaling at my local RC track but could never afford a car. So.. I decided to get into RC.. Well, it turns out that was one of the best decisions I've made in my life.!!! It's certainly not hyperbole to say that RC saved my life.!! I've also got over 4 years of sobriety under my belt.!!! All the money I was wasting on drink now goes into my hobby. (I've also given up smoking, that's another £80 a week for my hobby).! 😉 😉 I go to bed most nights thinking about RC, I wake up & it's usually the first thing on my mind, I watch KZbin videos, then I work on my models in the morning & try to get out with a few couple of them in the evening.! At first I was very self conscious & hesitant, but watching channels just like yours gave me the confidence to get out there & do it.! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do.!! You do a huge service for people like me.! THANK YOU SO MUCH.!! Please stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍

I hope you see this Craig, as I've been away from youtube for a bit and only just catching up with some of my favourites now. A big thank you to YOU buddy. When there are a zillion different content creators churning out material on a million different subjects, you still justifiably own a unique piece of that pie. You give us great content, without the BS and the stunts, and with enough of your personality to make it easy to like you, without it turning into an ego trip. And good luck on your continued journey dealing with whatever you need to. I turned 50 this year, and getting into 2 new hobbies in recent years (RC and archery) has been so beneficial for me, but it's a continual process to manage our minds. Besy wishes from the UK mate 👍

Thank you very much. I'm glad you're doing well. I'm also doing much better these days. RC-TNT has been a big part of that, with you guys being such an unexpected boon to enriching my search for purpose and fulfilment. I didn't know what shape things would take when i began, but the many conversations with folks on the comments here has been instrumental in shaping how I look at the hobby and its utility for mental health in a broad sense. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be part of it. Thank you.

One of my favourite RC channels. I enjoy watching your content with the realistic, honest, unbiased testing and reviews of RC's. I like how you talk to us like we are actually there, face to face, not like you're the host of a TV game show or something. That's a great dedication hobby space you have. I like that it's secure and sealed. I hate how the dust settles on my rigs when stored. It's also very organised. Congratulations on 3 years. Keep uploading your awesome content.

Crazy to think it's been that long! I found rc-tnt researching for my first crawler and you had a couple videos about the Sendero HD among others. I appreciated your crawling knowledge and you don't just mindlessly push people to add a bunch of brass or weight to their rigs for affiliate money. Personal and family (doggos included) wellness should always be a priority and all of us understand when other priorities pop up. We're all along for the ride and hopefully you've inspired others make mental health a priority too

As a recent subscriber to you & RC in general (dabbled unenthusiastically on & off as a kid) I don't get to say RC is what pulled me out of my darkest state, I owe that to airsoft. I will say, however, RC is the ultimate thing to have taken up alongside airsoft. The tinkering, collecting, community, variation & most importantly getting out in the woods for a good ol' play is utterly fantastic. It's also the first hobby I've had which isn't immediately shunned by anyone that doesn't also do it. It really is a refreshing change! I think it's also unique in that it stems from a time long before social media & the current status quo of criticising absolutely everything you see online. It's awesome to come and hang out watching your vids and enjoying your absolute positivity, which is also something of a rarity these days. I appreciate your positive influence on everything RC and life in general, it's uplifting. That said, if you ever need to chat/vent or somewhere to stay (if you ever come to the opposite side of the planet!) I'm always available 👍 Also, for random chats like this, where is the best place to talk? I've been spreading my comments across your channel to help the pesky algorithms be in your favour (not that you needed my help for that, your content speaks for itself!)

@@RCTNT you’re welcome to the fullest! Early in my re-entry to the hobby, I actually started an Instagram page for my 1/24 crawlers. Then, I noticed myself getting anxious and feeling pressure to get content out. All of the mental health struggles were back in full force and ruining the hobby that was previously saving my life! So I quit doing the sharing and just calmly and with no pressure tinker and crawl as I can. 😁 With all that, coming on KZbin for research purposes is like dancing with the devil. The social media is NOT good for me. But!!!! I found you, and very select other couple creators that help me get some knowledge and research without getting sucked into the mindless thumbing through nonsense. So, ya….. REAL THANKS!!!

Congratulations, it's hard to believe it's been three years already. Seems only yesterday we were having our first chat out on the problems. What a wild ride it's been, look how much you've grown and how far you've come. I am excited to see what the future holds and where this goes next. You're doing great, so you just keep on doing what you're doing, because this is working. for you and for us. The new green box looks great so far, that's a lot of space to store and work on a lot of machines. But, if the last three years are anything to go by, you're gonna need another one in a couple years. And we'll be here to see it happen. Congratulations again, this is a massive achievement and well deserved. Also big hugs for the new doggo. She looks like a total sweetheart.

It's exactly the reason why I got into rc couple of years ago, to give my warp speed ,switch on constantly 24/7 mind a rest ,which ironically gives it a dopamine hit ,adhd, is a blessing n curse all at the time, 😱😅😁😉👍,but am just a noob compared you , when it comes to the rc world, so may long you continue, & thank you, 😁😉👍

Thanks to your extensive content and your amazing 1-6 tests I bought my first big crawler (Sendero HD) and modded with yours stage 1 and 2 recommendations... Really appreciate your time and effort from your perspective and way to share videos thoughts and more. Saludos from a Venezuelan guy 🧔🏽‍♂️ living in Spanish's lands. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Throwing a like . Sharing my journey with you as a retired Aussie guy 30 years your senior.I recently started brazing 3/16 steel brake line and silver solder. Today I walked my regular 4km hill with my first cage build. I always enjoy your videos, even the bashing stuff. To make the padlocks secure you need a 1/4 inch steel box welded on the door just big enough to get your hands in but almost impossible to get bolt cutters into.

Thank you! Congrats on getting your machine done! And yeah I've got the box on. I wouldn't want to lose the key, I'd need several grinder discs to get into this!

Everyone needs a container! haha. Is that double walled? wondering because I saw you bolting things to the walls and if it isn't, I hope you put rubber grommets in. Container living is becoming really popular up here BUT those things turn into ovens in the sun due to zero R value of steel. You might find in the summer, your lexan bodies starting to deform. To help mitigate the oven effect, you could paint it white and then cover the entire top with solar panels to keep the sun off it. Another thing you can do is pickup 2" exterior foam insulation panels and glue it on the outside, or on the inside. I think 2" is r10 or something like that. Tully looks like she's all healthy, that's good to see! Cheers mate!

Have panels going up on it and a whirlybird installed. Rubber grommets used on bolts, too 👍 Tully passed on this day 2 years ago. This doggo is Lana 😊 She's a sweetie pie just like Tully was

I have many drones and love fpv, but don't fly anymore since it became technically illegal. If I was to share fpv videos I'd be dobbing myself in. I miss it but crawlers are great.

@@RCTNT illegal? But why? So sad
@RCTNT
@RCTNT 2 ай бұрын
It's legal if you keep certain meters from a road and from people. For fpv you need two controllers, one with line of sight of the aircraft. Over 250g weight must be registered. So, not illegal, but effectively so for most tiny drones where dual control and a technical challenge!

@RC-TNT Hi Craig.Hope you are doing well You helped me with selection between Infraction vs Mjx 14301. But my LHS now confused me with recommending Felony Please help and suggest Felony looks so awesome and tempting but has rear tires and different differentials whereas Infraction is same platform all rounder with okish looks. Please help whether I should go with Felony or infraction
@RCTNT
@RCTNT 2 ай бұрын
I thought about this as well. I went with the infraction in order to have the same tires and track width. This was for handling, spares, and future body options. That said, the Felony looks better, IMO. Buy the one you like better. It's about fun, after all!
