Fun fact for you all: the marimba player right in front of the timpani’s (my dawg Skye) is the last person still marching that I marched with at STRYKE back in 2017. He was like 14 at the time…what a boss!!

Only recently have I begun to recognize how much the timpani adds to the show. I think it started with Bluecoats 2022, and now I specifically look out for timpani moments. That timpani phrase at the end is INSANE.

Funnily enough for me the first time I really noticed it was chino hills 2018, that front ensemble was so good

Front ensemble person here. the pit is overall is def very good. The book also shows the front off a lot more than many other shows. All the super choppy and feature stuff sounds great. The biggest cleanliness problems just has to do with a lot of that rubato stuff and make sure everyone is communicating and listening. stuff like at 9:18 got away from them a bit, but they recovered fast.

Love the dynamic here Gents. Michelob Ultra vs. Mystery Bourbon. In addition, are we just going to ignore Matt Regua with the clean ball catch at the end of the snare feature. HE STILL GOT IT.

The tenor feature is just 🔥🔥. Reminiscent to RCCs tenor feature towards beginning of last year’s show. West Coast is killing it this season with Pulse, RCC, and Broken City. Again, all within 40 miles of each other in SoCal.

I will add too. That front ensemble puts it all together, and I’d say holding their own more so than the battery. Love me some RCC. 🔥🔥
