Man, I got the original HotShot II for Christmas when I was 11. I drove it to death and dont regret it at all. I had so much fun with it. My brother got a Super Sabre. One of my neighbors ended up with an optima mid and his dad had a bigwig and an avante he never wver put on the road. The memeories of driving these things around are so special

good that bodies are coming painted, i never enjoyed the painting and found a bad paint job could really leave a downer on the build, rather than adding a "personal touch". i bet more people would have been happy if tamiya re released the hotshot 2 in org form.

Haha can't beat driving any of the shots! Nostalgic you bet!! Like many l would of liked to see the original HS2 out first and just as it was back in the day but l do appreciate this BHM version its a cool looking thing! Tamiya made a few nice touches also with the sticker on the motor and chassis tweeks and dummy resistor and BigWig/Fox driver figure. The overall looks are very good l like it! I am lucky enough to have a Hotshot and Supershot in my collection and would love a HS2 in my collection but will probably wait for tamiya to hopefully release the original version in the near future! But never say never l might be tempted by this HS2 BHM as it would look pretty cool sat alongside my WO BHM! Great vid again mate and lovely to see you putting through its paces! I bet you will be interested in getting the new BBX on your channel? What a thing that is! 2023 version of the Rough Rider/ Super Champ! The tyres are even called Rough Ride tyres! Tamiya brilliance! lots of memories. Me and my racing buddies were the guys who worked at the hobby shops that sold these Hotshot/FOX/Falcon models. We'd sell them by the bushel. But behind the counter, we'd always have our own RC-10s, Optimas and Yoke YZ-10s. Customers would get pissed when we would clear up the track on race-day using cars we didn't sell! LOL. Tamiya was cool, but the thick plastic parts, huge and complex geartrains, all conspired to make them more of a 'sport' model than a racing model. Still loved how they did kooky things like the mono shocks and all that.

@bradkalman2353 Жыл бұрын
Believe it or not the super hot shot was before the hotshot 2.
@schuttrostig5729 Жыл бұрын
Hotshot II came after the super hotshot. Super Hotshot has the rear dampers behind the a-arms. Also i wonder if they managed to get less bumpsteer on the hotshot II ? I wonder if that speedcontroler is a change done by your local distributor or Tamiya now includes these worldwide? That would be a nice move. Thank you for your in depth review, it looks pretty similar to the boomerang with cage and that the front stabilisator on the boomerang is bad. Maybe i build a boomerang and use the hotshot 2 front stab? Oh wait... they did put in a solid center drive shaft instead of the thin wire in the hotshot/boomerang? Thats nice !
@ventisette. Жыл бұрын
The Hobbywing speed controller is included worldwide as the factory where the TBLE ESCs were made burned down from what I heard

@71Dragtruck Жыл бұрын
I have one pre-ordered, does it have bearings like the Super Hotshot kit, or is it bushings? If bushings do you know if a set from the old Hotshot 2 fit or did Tamiya make some changes? Nice to see it comes with the a 1060 ESC, wish the motor was a bit more special though, something with a removable end bell.
@rcdriver Жыл бұрын
It’s a mix of bearings and bushings. A Fast Eddy HS2 kit should work. A tuned motor would have been nice.
@elpaco313 Жыл бұрын

Not a fan of the change to the cage and I feel it was a lazy paint scheme and they could have done better. I will be holding out for the regular one once they release that. It has some nice features but them ruining the classic sloped roof line was a deal breaker for me. I am sure it will sell well for them, I just wish they had done more on the paint to set it apart from the Wild One.
@AddamsPlayground Жыл бұрын
@@philthyco1 so my opinion is crap.and yours is not? I don't like it and will be getting the regular one and not this.
