The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a mega free trade agreement spearheaded by China in 2020, currently involves 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. RCEP is intended to reduce trade barriers between countries, facilitate investment flows, and enhance economic cooperation. The agreement is particularly closely aligned with China's economic strategy, contributing to the country's growing economic influence and strengthening its global trade network.
In this session, Dr. Li Wei, Professor of Economics at China's first private business school, Changjiang Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), will discuss the future of the global economy, and in particular how RCEP connects to China's economic strategy. He will examine the role of RCEP and the process of re-globalization interacting and impacting the global economic order, and will discuss in-depth what new opportunities and challenges these changes present for businesses and policymakers. RCEP in Action What are the strategies to effectively respond to the changes in the global economy? #china #economy #rcep

Does the World Bank include the increase of automation? I think automation will be a massive factor in the coming years. The Chinese industry for example is already heavily automated.

The problem with RCEP is the lack of consumption and the rapidly decreasing demographics of the region. It is still dependent on the US, EU and to a lesser extent India. China has tensions with all of these regions.

There is much consumption going on across the region. ASEAN and China in focus, middle class’ demand for goods and services keeps increasing each year.

RCEP is bigger than EU. Tension? Are you saying there are no tension between US and EU? New administration in US is currently creating tensions all over the world. 😅

@@cinpeace353 It’s not even close and you are crazy to draw the comparison. Donald Trump is angry that he believes the EU is taking advantage of the US financially. At one time China had 17 active border disputes. China is actively taking territory away from its surrounding Asian partners and even injuring and/or killing their citizens in these tense border conflicts.

“The Taiwan province of China” Yeah, you’re just a professor, not a government mouthpiece at all.
