Looks like he drilled holes in each case, ran appropriate bolts through, and attached nuts on the back side of the side mount plate on the rack to secure it. He mentioned in the video that he also added some silicone to the holes to help keep the boxes water tight. If you go to 7:41 you can see how the bolts align from inside the rack.

really awesome truck. ive had mine for about 2weeks. just ordered some mounts for tools and a fishing rod mount. hoping they work well on the rack. we basically have the same ranger aside from wheels/tires which im planning to do a little later.

What was your torque specs for all bolts on the rack and the ones on the c clamps?

Lucky you, I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and still haven't received it. For some reason, they have an 8 to 10 week lead time!!!!!

What made you choose the 12" over the 18" rack? I am debating on which one I want to put on my Colorado.

At the time it was so it could fit in my garage with the tent as well as just keep a lower profile. However after use I found that the 12” doesn’t leave a lot of room for my 4gallon Rotopax. As well as anything else I want to attach on the inside of the rack. I’m probably about to order the Xtrusion Overland Rack here shortly. I did really like the RCI rack In terms of quality. Would still recommend it.

@@HarlesGarage Oh thats understandable. Thank you for the info! I have been debating between the low profile or having the extra room and I might go for the 18" now. The Xtrusion Overland Rack looks sick, but it looks like they do not make one for Colorado's. Good video man!

I was lookin to order the same rack and in the options it asks if I want extra brace for $50. Does yours have that extra brace? Not sure what they are talking about.

If you look during his install you can see he mounts 2 vertical pieces on the outsides. If you look closely there's holes in the middle for a 3rd beam. I ordered mine with the 3rd just for extra strength.
