I am not Catholic, but these lessons have been intellectually and spiritually beneficial. Thank You.

Consider reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church (the large book); it contains the explanation of what we believe since Lord Jesus Christ, 2000 years ago, till now, backed up with biblical verses. Also, I would highly recommend finding a channel here called Divine Mercy; there is an important playlist called "explaining the faith" with Father Chris Alar, and another playlist called "Living Divine Mercy TV Show (EWTN); they answer most of the questions people usually ask. It's really amazing!

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil wasn’t in the middle because the tree that was in the middle was the tree of life. Eve just misinterpreted this when talking to the devil. Read it again a friend brought this to me and blew my mind.

The questions about the tree of life were interesting. The reason God created the tree was to precisely give us free will, free choice. Did God know they would eat from it? I don't know. I'm not a philosopher.

"The word God is for me nothing but the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of venerable but still rather primitive legends." So wrote Einstein in 1954 in a letter auctioned off for nearly $3 million at Christie's in December, 2018.

Einstein was an avowed atheist. He used the word God only metaphorically.

The problem I have here is that firstly: when Genesis refers to the Six Days, the Hebrew word used for "day" is "yom". When yom is used with a number in an ordinal sequence, it ALWAYS refers to a 24-hour day. So, when Genesis says God created light on day one, the Hebrew used literally means a 24-hour day. Using the Hebrew language, one cannot inject the idea of millions of years without intellectual dishonesty. Using the language, the Hebrew is expressly clear: God created in six literal 24 hour days. If you want to imply otherwise, go ahead. But it's not what the Hebrew says. Secondly: the Hebrews believed in a flat earth that was encased in a dome called "the firmament". The firmament is where the stars are fixed, while the sun and moon orbit the earth. Thirdly: the story of how Lucifer became the Devil is over-simplified. Lucifer became Satan because he rebelled against the Salvation Plan of God. The Angels were informed about the fall of man and God's Incarnation as Man. This disgusted Lucifer, who thought that such an action was beneath Divine Majesty, so he rebelled saying that he was better than that. Lastly: that translation of the Bible is horrendous. The Douay-Rheims would be the perfect translation because it is faithful to the Latin, and the Latin is based on Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.

But the Hebrews are using their words and understanding and applying it to the concept of what God's day was. Similar to how our concept of a year is not similar to our dog's concept, in fact our dogs cannot even conceive of what a year is. So we are applying our limited understanding unto God which is impossible so we must humbly accept and recognize our differences which was discussed in the 1st lesson

You are completely disregarding the possibility that the author injected some of his own lack of knowledge as he was writing the text that describes the creation. Light can't have been created after earth was created. It is impossible. Light is necessary to hold atoms together. So no light means no atoms, no molecules and hence no earth. But the author had no idea about those matters so he wrote and injected according to his understanding of the universe. Where are the stars fixed? Some move in pretty solid orbits and other change orbit after been subject to enough force. The hebrews believed in a flat earth because that is what the earth looks like from our perspective. Lucifer was no name of a person until one translation translation changed the title lucifer to the name Lucifer. Satan was also a title in Job before it all of a sudden became a name. The name of the fallen one is not revealed in scripture.

As a practicing, non-compromising, devout Catholic, I also know I must keep an open mind while guarded by Authentic Catholic Truth, Faith and Teachings. While often accused of that, we are not a cult, just the total opposite. When faithfully believed and lived, our Holy Faith can take all challengers and has done so for 2,000 years and is ready for 2,000 more if God wills it. That's why I had no trouble expoloring the arguments of 7-literal-days creationists and I was pleasantly surprised by their strict scientific background, research and approach. While, like us Catholics, they are accused of being ignorant, stupid, anti-science, blind fanatical fundamentalists, etc. nothing could be farther from the truth. I greatly encourage everyone here to read the books of Ken Ham and other like him. You will find him very interesting at the very least and at the most a clear revelation of how we Catholics have been way too faithful accomplices of today's heavily politicized, biased, domineering, aggressively dogmatic "science". TRUE Creationism is a big breath of scientific fresh air.

An earth "hour" is a ridiculously arbitrary concept. If the Revolutionary French had their way, we'd probably have a 10-hour day. Anyway ...what was "an hour" or "24 hours" on the first _yom_ ? Did God know how humans would deal with this, so God was hustling to get all his work done in a 24-hour, human earth day? Also, you know that old time hours (the first hour, the third hour ...) were compacted during the winter as compared with the summer, etc.
