Love the terra scorcher one of my favourites of all time 😄👍🏻

I wouldn't worry about the coat hanger prop shaft. My Boomerang has the same one and I've been running a 5900kv motor in it with completely stock gears and shaft and no issues running off road. It does 35mph on a NIMH and 49 on a 3s Lipo on the road. Been running the NIMH mostly and have run about 40 packs through it of road with no issues.

Kaizer Test same here 3s 4900 in my 80s thunder dragon, tends to wheelie when you apply big power therefore unloading torque from the shaft, not broke it yet

I got this kit over the holiday season and am going to paint it in “Todoroki colors”. This loosely resembles the Todoroki 4WD Special, which I believe is the world first ever 4WD RC. The scheme is black and yellow.

Gavin, I put a 13.5 sensored brushless in mine and I am very happy with the performance. I would think a 3500 to 4000kv sensorless would also be good it you get one that does not get too much cogging.

In a lot of your videos i hear u say that you're not a professional painter, builder or anything like that. And may very well think that is the truth. But my friend u have a very good professional Drive, mentality and eye for the Hobby. So keep it going and don't stop with the videos.

You're really tempting me! I love these old 4X4 Tamiya Buggies!! The weight is a good thing for WORKING Suspension. 😲 I ran mine in 1989 with a 12 turn Triple, and it was QUITE fast - for 3 MINUTES!!! (NiCd Batries!) 😠😡 Today's technology will make these AWESOME! Please stay SAFE! 😷 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

Have you ever thought of the scale of those shock absorbers? I mean, if you were able to put a 1/10 scale figure next to the shocks, you would have a shock that stands more than waist high and is bigger around than a thigh. If that was real life, they would be absolutely huge!

Yep for sure as well as the rims and tyres.

Regarding liquid mask - make your own with PVA glue, a tiny amount of talcum powder and a drop of washing up liquid. Dilute as required, I spray through a 0.8mm nozzle or brush on. Warm air to dry each coat. Thank me later ;)
@BigDuke6ixx4 жыл бұрын
The best way to improve performance is to run on a Lipo 2S. That will reduce the weight a lot over Nihm and give you higher voltage under load. If you start putting brushless power through these older design drivetrains you end up in an upgrade cycle.
@RCKickschannel4 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen stock Boomerangs do 49MPH 3S no problem at all. That said a little nose weight would help lol. Not sure about this one but as it’s not that different I don’t see why not.
@BigDuke6ixx4 жыл бұрын
@@RCKickschannel I've never seen the point of ballistic performance in a off road buggy. I see people breaking their cars all the time on youtube and grinning about it but I';m not sure they are actually having fun. But anyway, as you mention, you'll end up in an upgrade cycle . Upgrade one part and the power breaks the next inline part, and on and on, until you've blown a load of money and might as well have got a modern car.

Yeah this brings back good childhood memories, i had a couple of these over the years and one of them i modified to 2 wheel drive and put in a powerful motor and pinion gear, it was insanely fast in a straight line lol, i would do approx. 45mph! but because of the mods it made it useless on grass etc, only good for asphalt.

Hi Gavin, just built this one. New at this rc hobby it was my second build. Every thing is great and I really enjoyed building it. I just have one problem, I've masked the wrong window (back instead of the front). I've tried tamiya thinner, no good, tried nail polish remover on some scrap plastic and it foggs the plastic. Any suggestions. Thanks Carl

Gavin how many coats of liquid mask did you put on? I've heard putting 3 coats makes a massive difference with getting a good line and makes it heaps easier to pull off the lexan after being cut.. I personally haven't used it before but I hope this helps you out and it's how I'll be doing it.
