Regarding the Associated RC10R5, it didn't come with a body in the kit. The one pictured on the box is the Protoform Corvette C6-R, but the body of choice was the Protoform Sophia. 10-15 years ago when the class was popular the rules limited us to GT bodies. As there isn't any sanctioned racing using these those of us still racing them use something like the Montech MF-10 Asphalt for ultimate performance, or the Montech M10 for a more scale look. For a GT body there's the Black Art GT86 which is very similar to the old favorite Sophia body, or the Mcallister WGT-R C6 which is the popular body for the WGT-R racing class. For something more scale looking there's the Protoform GT40, or any other 200mm wide body.

THANKS! I will get a MONTECH - M10 BODY FOR CARPET - 190MM for it :) I would like to get a conversion kit to 235mm but I'm not sure if these are still available as I do like the full fat look of the PROTOFORM 'VULCAN body. That and I think it will be fun content to convert the RC10R5 to 235mm

@@RCKickschannel going to be hard to find any of the 235mm conversion kits today. Most likely you would need a custom made front plate to widen the front end, I would suggest fibre-lyte or Nick Walker for that. For the rear I would use the Roche P10W axle and right side hub either with spacers to move the left side hub out to match, or make new pod plates to widen the pod for better axle support. Zen Racing are the UK suppliers of Roche products. Also not sure about that esc and motor, I know you aren't racing but just for information we usually run them on 1 cell (3.7v) and a 10.5T motor. Whether you run 1S or 2S you will need a shorty battery to fit in it unless you plan on running 4 cell nimh that the chassis was originally designed for.

@@techspeedrc Hi, I found someone who used to make the conversion kits, David Beeby from FullOption.co.uk said he didn’t have any but he can make me one easy enough. He said people used to use a rear hub set from Calandra. I couldn’t find much for sale on that online. I also found a Proform Vulcan 235mm body for it easy enough.

Thanks Andy! I think a yellow road car would also look great (when painted correctly) but it's a lovely body from Tamiya so you can't really go wrong as a road or rally car. I think I will get another Evo 5 body set as this was a fun project, if not a little stressful at times :)

Hi there yes i think you’ve pulled it off the decals really make a big difference yellow is a bit of a marmite colour especially on it own as a one coloured car but the black on the decals with the black rims looks brilliant and its different I like different. I like the cover with the front wheel arch’s you could use some black foam and attach it somewhere in the gap maybe inside the chassis.

IMHO the Racing Fighter or Neo Fighter are reasonable and you end up with a buggy that can grow with you. It is easy to build and if you get the right kit you get an ESC, motor and Oil shocks. Just My Humble Opinion.

Good save and it looks wonderful. I am just starting to get back on Tamiya. We won't get it until sometime in Nov 2022 here in the US. I haven't seen you use inkjet waterslide decal, maybe you can try it someday since you do so many cars. It's not for everything and depends on color scheme but a lot easier to work with, and you can print as many as you want. An absolute good example is to print window/windshield frame and add smoke effect at the same time on clear decal sheet. Save time and get perfectly straight trim lines.

It's really sharp. Your paint job is still a lot better than you think. But yes the grey and red trim gives it some pop. You lucky dog the Associated pan car is a thing of dreams and they can be really fast. I have seen those cars raced on a bicycle velodrome with the big banked corners and on paved go cart tracks where the drivers had to ease off the throttle because the front end was lifting off the ground at the ends of the straights It's 2:15 in the morning here and Monday is my Saturday, When I get home from work I will knockout for a few hours and I will be on the phone to find my missing CLK kit. I am hoping it is just hung up in transit somewhere.

If you didn’t mention the mistakes nobody would ever have known even with you pointing them out on camera it still looks fine I think it came out great On that RC10R5 it was designed for WGT (World GT) it never came with a body any 200mm GT body would work so like the current Protoform Ford GT and a bunch more from other MFG like Mon-Tech, Bitty design, it’s kinda a dead class nowadays (at least around me) I believe the body on the Manual was a 200mm Protoform C6 Corvette if you can still find one circa 2008ish They ran 4-cell NiMH or 1-cell 3.7V currently everyone kinda went back to the 1/12 scale version of these cars literally same everything just smaller

I’ve found a 199mm Mon-Tech body for it and it’s on order. I also found a conversion kit to take it to 235mm and a pro form body Vulcan as making it full fat should make for some interesting content. The last thing I need to find apparently is a wider axel. I was told people used a hub set from Calandra but so far I’ve not found anything. I have also got a Lipo mount coming with the conversion kit.

Yeah you did a very nice recovery going to a rally car. Will look very nice next to your Schumacher XLS... I agree with the pre-order thing you mentioned. I finally got my blockhead motors wild one last Thursday! That's an 11-month wait. But I got one. My next pre-order that I'm waiting on for who knows how long is my kyosho optima mid reissue, and eventually I assume the egress black will be another long wait going forward. I hope to get an Egress Black on the show if I can save up that amount of money by then. I have the same issues with Traxxas, Arrma and Team Associated kits taking ages to make it to the UK. Thats why you don't see that much from them (That and the cost, wow) over vintage buggies as by the time I can get one, you can already find 50 videos months before online.

The Landfreeder (TT02FT) came with the protector as the tracks tend to pick up a lot of rubbish. It does a partial job but is not great :(

I would say Yellow is amongst the most difficult colors to paint a lexan body in. It is almost as painting white, you don't want to back it with anything else it will show.

I now know that Guillermo heheh :) I think the way I would do it next time would be to back it in white, then light silver and then black. It would need a good 3 coats of white and 3 light silver before the black. I was lucky to just about get away with it.

Really beautiful car! Are you going to put out a prediction video for the November 19 tamiya event? On that day they say all releases from fall to winter will be released all at once. Don’t feel bad I somehow butchered the front of the body on my plasma edge. I was wondering what I could do. Then I noticed the Neo scorcher body is chopped right before the front damper stay. I did the same, slightly modded the factory decals and it looks great! I did swap out the white dampers for black and painted it black. It looks really good! On my dt03 I accidentally put three black screws into the diff instead of the smaller shiny ones. It still works great as you need a barely snug twist of the screw and it functions just fine. Probably a quick fix for those that strip the diff screws out since the diff housing is 100% out of stock right now.

MST multi offset adjustable rims are my normal choice. That way you can set exactly the offset you want.

Yep, not one for the detailed rally enthusiast 100%. I don't think you could drive it at all on anything but a nice flat road with these rims and ride height, but it looks cool on the shelf. I think I will invest in a cockpit and make a yellow cage for it next.

i would of done a FAST AND THE FURIOUS VERSION, there are programs to make decals and or special copy paper or decal stickerpaper.... that you can put in a printer, i did this allready before,would be great in Silver and a special decal like the SUPRA or the silver Skyline from in the movie(s)

@@RCKickschannel in the 2FAST2FURIOUS Movie there was the EVO VII that looked pretty cool , might of been other EVO's in the other movies of F&F movies, would be a cool project with some kind of drift wheels that look like the real aluminium wheels, i don't remember the brand of those 1/10 scale wheels, i know it's a brand that does a lot of bodies too and special rims, if i find that name of that brand i will let you know.

Man that AE car isn’t vintage. A few year at best. It’s a Pro10 car so any pro10 body will work. If you convert it to 235 you can put a 235 body on it.

Thanks, I found a Pro10 PROTOFORM 'VULCAN' REGULAR 235MM PRO-10 PAN. If I can find a conversion kit still available in the UK, I will get it and convert it on the show. For now I will get the MONTECH - M10 BODY FOR CARPET - 190MM as it looks cool and should just fit on as stock.

Do you think Tamiya will ever come up with a clever universal way to get rid of Body post and Pins forever? More and more Manufactures are moving away from Body post on off road cars like Traxxas xmaxx , Trx4, Maxx to name a few. I would imagine it would be much easier to do on a low power car like tamiya. I mean traxxas even went Clipless on the new Corvette model. If there is one brand of Rc Bodies that needs to go Clipless its Tamiya. They make the most scale bodies hands down. Tamiya are you listening??

Clipless makes the body too heavy. Great for bashers but not for racing, which is the core of Tamiya’s customer base. Plus, people complain all the time that lexan bodies are expensive to build up and paint. You really want clear, unpainted bodies to go from $40 to as much as $70 just because it’s clipless?! Go look at how much Traxxas sells unpainted Blazer and Bronco body sets. At over $100… It’s not worth Tamiya’s time to even bother competing, especially when Traxxas doesn’t build their bodies to win races. Tamiya does.

I really like the simple inverted body posts coming off the body into the chassis. It would be super easy for Tamiya to make them work or even make a retro kit but as Tai said if it adds too much to the cost.
