I’d still use the battery, if it compromised anything it would have blown to, as for the esc it may have got strained to hard from the tires

You did the only right thing here unplug the battery first. I see a lot of people trying to put the fire out with the battery still plugged in and of course the fire wont stop burn until the battery is unplugged. I had a specktrum ESC one time and after it died at my first bash session i throw that in the trash and now use hobbywing esc's. They have a lot of settings to choose from and have good savety protections. Keep up the great content and sry for u that this happen.

Yeah the most important thing is definitely to get the battery out…..fortunately it didn’t burn up the entire truck…..I run a Max 6 in it now

New fear unlocked 😅 I have seen a lot of rcs cathing fire before but I felt really close to this one. Very smart move to put it upside down in the sand to stop the fire. I would do the same or take as much sand as I could with my hands and spur it on esc. Anyways, I really like your content

I am guessing that sand jammed up the cooling fan on your esc. I have had an esc that will run fine all day bashing, then fan went bad and it would overheat within seconds. Put new fan in and esc runs flawlessly again.

It was almost a brand new esc and I hadn’t been running it in the sand for more than 30 seconds before this happened so I find that to be a doubtful cause

Just have a Granite 550Mega fire when a 7 year old was doing driveway donuts! I determined it was caused by pollen fibers catching fire! 🔥 as there was quite a lot of pollen in spots, and when I took apart fibers of it were all over inside. ESC was ok, just replaced motor and good to go! She sure loves the Granite monster truck! 👍

@@RCKnockout yes. Replaced the motor. Ran a couple nimh batteries through it. 2s lipos from Amazon arrived, moved the dip switch to labeled location. And the esc began to smoke upon turning it on.. Any ideas? Suggestions for ESC/Motor combo to swap in? Don't need super fast, but RELIABLE!! She is heartbroken it is broke down again!

What gearing, I think those 4 paddles put a lot of strain on that esc. Plus spektrum stuff are known to fail. Looks like those caps blew. Pulled to many amps due to the paddles. Try the castle esc, they hold up better in conditions like that.

I actually think the lipo survived... but definitely try it a few times in something crappy... We have a storage unit right near there with tons of RC stuff... maybe there's some usefulness there? Yeah I actually charged the battery back up to storage charge so it didn’t start on fire so that’s good…..we will see about running it though….I made a video showing some of the issues I’ve had with money and my KZbin channel….I’ll leave a link to it If you wanna check it out

your first priority when u seen your 700+$ rc car go up in flames made me genuinely laugh. a reason for the fire starting could have possibly been the tires being too big and putting too much extra strain on the esc and motor causing it to heat up too much and catching fire, if you do repair this car i recomend you use a smaller pinion or a bigger spur gear to drop the gear ratio to make it run cooler

Just Traxxas rigs know when you put arrma parts in . Like trying put Chevy parts in a Ford haha .. idk Nolan I never burnt 6s esc swore the teamcorraly esc was same as hobbywing and that one went up exactly the same , and all sudden I been going through handful of rtr escs , can't say it's newer stuff bc couple were old blx 185s nvr used. I think when we start swapping rtr esc gearing ect it's luck of the draw and all the rtr escs are about the same . Theirs no shortcuts saving money once it's not factory rig . The only esc I haven't fried are hobbywings every single rtr esc I've fried , actually except the one you just fried also but I haven't used it as much . That's why Traxxas turns down their escs and use Traxxas batteries they last long time look that way .

They really took care of me when I was having trouble with my new infraction, I sent them s video showing it acting up, the remote so because they weren't sure what exactly it could be they sent me about 400$ in stuff to make sure it got fixed, they sent me a new 150a esc, new dx3 remote and a new dsmr 6 channel spectrum receiver! I wasn't expecting all that! It ended up just being a bad receiver lol...Big score!

@@RCKnockout Yeah you just need to fill out a repair ticket and they email you back and you could forward them this video. Now I'm not sure if the paddles would make it void the warranty but I couldn't imagine that. It's a 6s esc in a 1/10th scale so should be fine. Worth a shot!
