A very convincing flight at as close to a scale speed as is safe, and those lovely four strokes purring away. I’ve been flying for over fifty years now (holy shit!) and this probably is the best scale display I’ve seen. Pay no attention to the few idiotic comments, I guess they can’t help it. Wow das Model hat den perfekten Spot dafür gefunden zum fliegen. Am fdh Friedrichshafen, und das Original steht jetzt original im Museum gegenüber. Vom Enkel Dornier dort hingeflogen. Kein Unterschied zum Original im Flug nur das die große auch auf dem Bodensee gelandet ist bevor Sie ins Museum gehen dürfte 😊

I am a flying boat fan and an RC modeler. I remember seeing the pictures of this original aircraft and thinking what an insane project it would be to build an RC of that plane, and here it is. Just wow.

I know very little about RC planes, but have seen a few on youtube; nice P51s, jets, passenger planes, fighters, etc. This is the most impressive I have seen. I wouldn't be surprised if it could fly well with 100 pounds of added weight aboard.

I would never build a craft like this. After spending so much time constructing the thing I would be too terrified that I would crash and wreck it. Cheap and easily replaceable is my anxiety-reducing style. Kudos to the builder for the bravery, though.

Brings back memories of the early 70s for me , and going to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn N.Y. ,,,, it was a retired military airbase you could bring RC cars and planes to on the weekends , really nice in the days before video games and smart phones .

@@Memphis704 Blabla. Als das Original flog (1929), hatte Deutschland keine Luftwaffe. Auf dem Rumpf steht außerdem Lufthansa, eine zivile Fluggesellschaft. Die Do X war NIE ein Militärflugzeug.

That is so amazing. I just read about this iconic flying boat, followed some KZbin videos, and this poped up. The rest of the original one is still on display at some museum in southern Germany. I must visit that town. So sad it was distroyed during the war😞
