CHEAPEST RC I've Bought - UNDER $75! Unboxing a HUGE New Bright 1:6 Ford Raptor - Overview

In a revitalized PROJECT iDEA, I would like to build a 1:6th scale truck that is a complete trail truck, non-MOA if possible. I would like it to have a transmission, steel driveshafts, proper axles, and ladder style chassis. I would like it to be 4 Link (if possible), as well as full Sprung Suspension. I would like to have limited suspension flex (with the use of limiting straps) as well as some BiG Tires!

Im assuming I will go with a Larger 1/8th scale brushless with a 32p 2spd Transmission - but I have not decided yet. This is an idea I have had rattling around in the old head for a few years. I have see it done - but not with any detail that could help others - if they wanted to build a giant as well.
The largest scale Crawler I have used is 1/8th scale.. and I think a Scale Trail Trail Truck that is 1/6 in size should be pretty capable.
Some of you may remember that I had a version of this truck many years ago.. i was just never in a position to finish the project. Well - no more. I'm looking forward to this build!

When I was a kid, I had a bunch of New Bright remote control cars, with cords on them. They were awesome! Corvettes with motorized flip up headlights, '57 Chevy's, Camaros. All of them had working headlights and taillights. Some had working horns. Great detail for the time as well. Wish I had them today.

I cant wait to see it once your done with it. Honestly seeing a toy grade on your channel is making me cringe a bit. Acctually i had a smaller one when a few years ago and it just drove it straight into some water puddles and some mud. It was kinda fun.

Rad HARD BODY! Although I'm a RAM guy, I like the modification level of use of this one. Rewire the lightbars, headlights, taillights, turn signals? Could turn into a great crawler. With that body at a meet, you could fool some people until the lights come on, and they see the suspension!

I check the clearance racks everytime I go in looking for just such trucks!! Missed the TJ Jeeps years ago and kick myself for all the time. Should be a great build. Will do one myself if I get lucky enough to come along on cheap. Love the new channel. Keep up the good work!!

I bought a new bright truck and I’m happy with it. It was 20 American dollars and has a full travel suspension and plenty of power. It is also all wheel drive with two motors one per axel. It’s tall has good clearance and it is an alright truck to play around with

My 1st rc was a new bright Brutus. Brings back the memories. Have a lot to thank the Brutus for as ended up giving it to my son who had great fun with it. Still got it so now I am keen to modify it and see what I can come up with. Good strong body and looks good. The raptor is very similar to the Brutus and both would be good for a start up rig at a cheap price. I’m from England and paid £65 for the Brutus. Not bad really for a good strong body to use for another rig.

I've only started watching KZbin a few months ago but you were one of the first that I hit subscribe to I love all the things you do on here and I haven't commented on anything on KZbin yet but I absolutely use toy grade rc bodies and new bright has some of the best hard body's. I love the idea of this built and can't wait for more of this thing.

I had a blast doing this build I ran the Ax2 transmition with a 2250kv motor on 4s to Ar60 axles and custom steel drive line, and the bodies of the truck held up to the abuse well I think. Can't wait to see your version of the truck

I’ve tried many toy grades just for curiosity..and while they are very underwhelming in performance the bodies on some are amazing and made of hard plastic...there is one I will suggest though and it is the jada toys elite off road charger ...12.8 v and I have had a ton of fun with it...plus the charger body is just excellent...the vehicle is two wheel drive but dude it hauls for a toy grade and it goes through a lot of terrain...it also jumps very well...I suggest checking it out...it only 60 bucks (U.S.) and I think it’s totally worth it...just a suggestion to those asking about ones under 100...by far the best one out there...keep up the great work

i got me a 1/5 scale maxstone 8 crawler and i added a body a star bright for f-150 pic up my grand son had around the house and stopped playing with it, i never tossed away i kept it, now i have that body on my maxstone crawler but its heavy i might have to change things around , readjust the shocks add more or thicker oil i was told by a buddy with a a hobby shop down here in fla. thanks a lot for all the ideas . Like you said if you're just starting out in the hobby like we all did, that would be the best toy in the world! It moves on its own you don't have to push it around like normal toys that has lights that looks cool. But when you stop and think about what some of these hard body bodies cost. That truck is a good bargain just for the body. And I think Hardbody Raptor build is going to be awesome and once you get an interior and some accessories it will be a badass build! And that's even building it with what you have lying in the basement, to be honest I'm sure you have a pretty decent assortment of old axles and driveshafts that have been upgraded and kept for reasons just like this! Can't wait to see what you do with it. Just in case your prepared to go over the top as usual with all your builds, might be time to go have bloodshot airbrushing put his touch on an awesome Raptor body that I think is one of the best looking trucks on the market by far! Obviously they aren't for your average Joe just too drive around town for a daily driver. Although they're perfectly capable of that, that's like driving a Formula 1 car in a 25 mile per hour speed zone! 😂👍

That body has definitely some potential for a good project. You need a good lighting system for it. And you totally know if you put the lights in the light bar going left and right, first thing that comes to mind is the knight rider theme :D [which incidentally fits the color of the car quite well]

Yea you should do a build for it. Keep yhe hard top and get a brand new body with good suspention and good turning radious. And of course add some head lights if its possible. Love the videos. Keep up the hard work. But if needed take a break when you want to a break from making videos. Its always good to take a break from time to time.
