The premiere contest in RCT2 is back! New Element's Head2Head contest occurs every 3 years and showcases the best the game has to offer as teams of builders compete with their parks against one another.
Winning the title for longest park name in this year's contest, we have this great 80s action movie themed park from Andrew, Cocoa, and MorganFan. There's a surprising amount of content and detail on a map of this size so let's dive in and take a look.

New personal favourite for me 🤩This park is absolutely stunning. I wonder how they made that yellow sun gradient on the coaster and the many scenery pieces. Great showcase 👏

It is a pretty beautiful park! I believe the color was simply in the design of the custom color palette. Each color has multiple shadings and if you replace certain ones with different colors, than you'll get the sort of iridescent look. It's beyond my skill set to make custom palettes-- but I'm pretty impressed with how this one turned out!

I really like the natural formations and rocks. wish I could get a handle on half-diagonals. They look fun!

I'm still struggling with that too! Starting with paths mostly and trying to get into buildings from there. It's a process for sure!

The color palette is very "nice" and vivid for a park with such a dark story.

slowly but surely I get the impression the game is developing in wrong directions... too much sufisticated BS there instead of bringing the game towards with much more important improvements as e.g. adding missing track pieces to certain rides (like water slide or cart). instead of that the game is cramped with stuff (to me) nobody is asking for....

All of this is user created custom content-- none of these things are official release items. The official Open team has done a great job at adding in things like the RMC coaster, the single rail, and the expanded looping coaster and giga coaster tracks. All of the work here is just people being creative with the tools they're given. The development of the game is still directly focused on overall gameplay for all play styles, but it's all down to how you use the items.

Your concern is unnecessary. The custom objects do not come from OpenRCT2 development, who are working on game improvements and new track pieces. The scenery objects come from builders who ARE asking for them, and making them for themselves. The objects also come from 20 years of object making so this is not new, it was a feature in vanilla RCT2 and encouraged by the game mechanics.

There's definitely a balance to be struck just in the general appearance of a map imo. I'm all for custom scenery, custom rides, and all of that sort of thing, but sometimes maps are simply too crowded to be easily readable in my eyes. With the size restrictions, a lot of these H2H parks fall into that category for me where I find it tough to really see what's going on in a lot of cases. Definitely a balance to be struck when adding detail.
