Looks like a great car. Like you, I'm more of a basher, but I can see the appeal. I quite enjoyed the soldering portion of the video. It was very peaceful with you quietly soldering and the birds in the background. If Bob Ross was into RC, that's what it would sound like. See you next time!

I looked at their site, you can get 1/8th nitro for around $410 USD. Back in the day, that was $2500 and in today's $$ that's about $4K. What a time to be in this hobby. I flog foam airplanes all the time. Back in my day, to get in the air, would cost you about $2K and you had to build the plane yourself and in today's $$ that's about $12K.

That is a beautiful dog. 8th scale buggies are a lot of fun. Even on a good size track you often have to turn the throttle down. I never wanted to marshal the 8th scale truggies, because those guys are often out of control. You did an excellent review. Hobao was the maker of Ofna cars many years ago. They make good cars, but why they don't work harder to promote their cars is a mystery to me. They used to make a Eurotruck and, as I mentioned before, a crawler. Keep up the good work.
@RCTNT3 ай бұрын
Thanks. I've wondered this also. Properly good models.

@@RCTNT I watched a review of the crawler back in 2018. The conclusion was it was a good trail truck as it comes out of the box.

Great review of a highly regarded buggy. Have a HUGE soft spot for 1/8th buggies as I raced nitro back in the late 80's early 90's. Nothing sails through the air like them. Currently have a few but my fav is the Arrma V5 Typhon 6s. Absolute weapon on 6s, (102kph on stock gearing, 118kph on the speed gear). Having said that, for a track, 4s is the sweet spot. Though they are heavier than the VS2. The VS2 can bash pretty hard too..plastics are of great quality and anyone buying one wouldn't be disappointed at all. Very solid car.

Never had a Typhon but since playing with this, I'm starting to question my past judgement, lol Should look into the Team Corally buggies too, actually. Cheers

As frustrating as the doggo is in the moment, she sure makes for some good out-take reel. 🍻

She's the sweetest dog ever. Won't go to bed until she gets her cuddles - she'll circle on her bed then get back up and wait for me to kneel down, then climbs up and nuzzles her head into my neck and waits for a hug. Then, straight to bed and asleep in a few moments, lol. She's got me trained on that point and I don't mind, it's adorable. We're working on her hair trigger for the abnormal, currently. Gotta get her threat assessment dialed down from 11 to 2. We'll get there!

Best.? Well, it's a Hobao, so yes, it could well be the best.! 😉 😉 I've got 6 Hobao RCs & I fully intend to own more of them.! Their 8th scale stuff is especially good.!! They're just so well designed, engineered & built.! They're excellent performers & just about as durable as an RC can be. They not only last for a long time but they don't wear as quickly as some other brands. Their big Hyper 8SC is a beast of a 6S Short Course truck, it's got a 370mm wheelbase & it performs wonderfully, it handles way better than the Mojave 4S because it's lower but still has a load of suspension travel. Their 8th scale on road cars are pretty darned epic too. The drivetrains are extremely durable on all their RCs.!! 👍 👍 👍 (weak diffs are a pet hate of mine, nothing puts me off an RC more than blowing a diff quickly... Like the bloody Mad Van VE.. 2nd 2S pack.!! 😡 😡!!!) I simply cannot recommend Hobao enough, whichever model you get, whether it's an on road or off road you will definitely be happy, their DC1 crawler isn't bad either.!! Thanks for another great video Craig.. Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍

@@RCTNTDid you manage to find a DC1.? I really hope you do because they really are very nice.! Typical Hobao high quality & thoughtful engineering.!! 👍 👍 Just remember to set your steering end points because they run aluminum axles & cv joints & they can break easily if overstressed, otherwise they last quite well, actually I don't think I've broken one since setting my end points correctly.! All the best mate.! 👍 👍

Hobao is such an underrated cpmpany. I always feel they don't get enough credit or attention for what they offer. I need to remind myself of getting one of their short course offerings down the line. Also, I'd suggest adding on the title/caption of the video the soldering bit, as down the line, if I want to do a recap on what you explained so well, or the products you used, I'm at a bit of a loss to try to find it on your video listings. Just my $0.02 😃

Personally think a buggy is one best verhicle's to start with if you want to run 1/8, have the room, and dont exactly know which way you want to go. You can drive it on-, and offroad, it's drives forgiving, quite durable, maintenance is not extreme and straight forward, etc. and their a blast to drive when you get the hang off it. Also when changing stuff, like for instance diff fluids, it will show these changes noticeably and think that it helps to get knowledge of what does what. It certainly helped me when buying a monstertruck and setting it up to my likings. Don't drive it as often anymore, but won't sell neighter. Just for these few times a year i do drive it... Their just fun and fast.

One thing about it being too big for your yaaad, with all the debris, sticks etc, seemed to be the right size to handle all that. What you need is a rolling lawn sweeper. It's a thing you push that sweeps up sticks, rocks, leaves and twigs and shoots them into a bag then you wheel it over to the bush and dump it. I bet you could run that on your short course all day and smile the whole time.

@RCTNT3 ай бұрын
@muskokamike127 to my Australian ear, I find the many Canadian and USA accent variants to be middling in strength, in comparison to the Queen's English. (Obviously both have exceptions, some are very strong). Interestingly, white (typically) South African speakers and South Island kiwi accents are closer than most other English accents of the world. Still quite different, but more similar than many others. Accents are interesting. I can pick the various parts of Melbourne you may be from if you're talking to me locally here. And then the stereotypical Australian drawl is largely a Queensland and Western NSW thing. Much variation, as with most large countries, even with our relatively low population density. ...I mean, ok hoser.
