Continuing with diagnosing problems with my Rubicon Front Axle, as well as testing the Front Locker and finding a temporary solution.

Yup, I suspected the splines on the axle shaft. Glad you find out for sure. Hope RCV does right by you Rick!

The axel spline is gone, and just pull the axel that is easy to do

That’s what I did do. RCV warranty covered it…. This same thing has happened on the other side as well…. Apparently bad heat treatment on shafts not hardened properly…. Happily RCV stood be the other side as well. Been fine since with no issues.

I’ll never run RCV again. I broke one under very little stress and it shattered the shaft into multiple pieces and then that destroyed a brand new Eaton locker.

Wow… sorry to hear that David…. I must say the break sucked…. Warranty was great…. But lost down time abs labor was definitely a factor!👍🏻🇺🇸
